I'm using a Swedish keyboard layout and can't get access to many keys such as the bracket keys since I have to press AltGr to get access to them. I'm using the XkbKeycodeToKeysym to translate keycodes to keysyms but I only get 0 as a keysym when pressing AltGr.
AltGr is Mod5Mask according to the X.h file. The state is 128 when pressing it.
I've tried to pass different levels and groups to XkbKeycodeToKeysym with no results.
The function I needed was Xutf8LookupString and using that.
I followed this tutorial for when configuring the input context.

I need it to be the equivalent of physically pressing those keys simultaneously.
I actually think it’s not possible in AppleScript, I’ve scoured the Internet to no avail, but then again I’m a noob, so maybe I missed something.
If it is impossible in AppleScript, how can I do this on a lower level. Maybe in C?
you can do it using appleScript, here is a working code for you.
It does exactly what you need.
It will press those keys sequentially while keep holding: Fn key, Shift key, Command key and L key.
It will wait 2 seconds keeping them pressed (I just inserted the delay to test it while observing it on the MacOS Screen Keyboard pressing those keys). For production I suggest reducing the delay to 0.2
After the delay it releases all the keys.
This is exactly like physically pressing the keys.
tell application "System Events"
-- part 1: press and keep holding
key down 63
key down shift
key down command
key down "L"
-- part 2: lets keep them pressed for 2 seconds
delay 2
-- part 3: release the keys
key up "L"
key up command
key up shift
key up 63
end tell
Code 63 is the keycode for Fn Key.
And you can remap this script to your Command+L shortcut in Maestro as you asked/need
For security reasons Apple prohibits by default any automation control by any application, so you will have to authorise this script as trustable to control your computer.
To authorise it:
Open System Preferences -> Security and Privacy
Go to tab: Privacy
On the items on the listing on the left select: Accessibility
unlock the dialog to make changes
click + button and
add your script to the list of apps allowed to control your computer.
(To test it using Script Editor, you need to authorise Script Editor too by adding it to the list described above)
I'm trying to setup a credit card entry field, and I need to be able to separate the digit-groups with a space. But on a mobile device, I want the number keyboard to appear, so I'm using input[type="number"] instead of just input[type="text"].
Currently, when I test on Chrome it's working. The $viewValue appearing in the directive for the credit card field shows the 16-digit number (Angular even auto-removes the spaces because of number type field).
But in Firefox, as soon as you type a space, $viewValue returns as "" (even though the field value is "5555 5555 5555 4444").
Is there any way to make this work as expected?
Wow Maybe this a serious Mozilla Bug, with no solution for now, then you may apply other ways to resolve this.
Use mask (lose number on mobile): Try Plugins, library like this http://digitalbush.com/projects/masked-input-plugin/ , the bad user loses the PAD NUMBER on mobile devices.
To keep input number (complex only for fun): Make a input type hidden, then when the user type on number field, fill the hidden input with the value.
Use text field (best way): yes number is the new era on HTML5, but users don't care that for now, yeah show only numbers with the pad (like most apps) is awesome, now ask is really necesary?
Dynamic Form JS: verify the browser version, if Wild Mozilla appears, change type number to type text ;)
Good luck !!

What I'm trying to do should be quite simple but I am getting error messages saying that conditional formatting doesn't accept this method.
So I am looking for a fix or an alternative.
What I have is a list of search texts for phone faults
screen broken
wifi not working
bluetooth dead
the dooflip isnt working
etc.
I have also set up a number of common keywords
screen
wifi
bluetooth
By comparing these two we can see that the last one doesn't adhere to any of my common keywords, and so I want it highlighted/ copied somewhere etc. so I can view and take any action.
So far I have attempted to set up conditional formatting to search the terms for the keywords and if it doesn't contain any then highlight it.
=ISERROR(SEARCH({"wifi", "bluetooth", "screen"},$H$117))
When using this I get informed that conditional formatting does not support arrays (it works fine if I only specify one search term).
If i create a table with all the keywords in and use the following it works, however it will only find direct mataches, and wont search for the word in the cell string
=ISERROR(MATCH(<cell_to_change_colour_of>, <keyword_table>,0))
So is there another way of doing this?
my answer requires MOREFUNC addon*
=REGEX.COMP(A1,"wifi|bluetooth|screen",FALSE)
this will return true if any of the words appear anywhere in cell A1. FALSE in the formula stipulates that it is not case sensitive.
Unfortunately due to Excell's stupid rules it will not work directly in Conditional Formatting box. You will need to place it in a helper column, and point the conditional formatting rule to that column.
MOREFUNC ADDON
Morefunc Addon is a free library of 66 new worksheet functions.
HERE is some information (by original author)
here is the last working download link I found
here is a good installation walk-through video
I have some documents on a subdirectory for example www.example.com/documents, inside the document folder i have files(e.g. File1.doc, file2.docx, and So on). I want users to view the files But not to download it.
How can i do this?
In order to view the file the user need to download them... Maybe I don't fully get your point but I think this is not an option
(Programmer's Lore-Keepers) forgive my suggestions here...
This is a bit of a 'grey-area-programming'.
Have you considered perhaps using a technology of your choice javascript/jQuery to capture the "known" ways of copying while on your page?
Positive test : suppose the user clicks enter on a textbox and you're using jQuery to trap the enter command to then set off your trigger that is a default action to a control of your choice.
Think about this as a negative test... if the user uses key combinations such as Ctrl+A or Ctrl+P or Ctrl+S then you intercept it and interrupt their action in theory...
Other factors to consider would be how to capture the mouse drags and perhaps even right-click actions.
Hope this helps.
I have been going through Rachel Cordone's Unreal Development Kit Game Programming with UnrealScript Beginner's Guide book and having an issue using the conTEXT text editor.
As per instructed through the book I have followed all the steps to configure it but it won't compile once I press F9 - considering the last step to configure is to set the Enivronment Options/Execute Keys section. Here are the steps the book lays out (just that certain tab):
7) Now we are going to set up the conText to compile code. On the Execute Keys tab, click on Add, then type .uc into the Extensions field that comes up.
8) Once that's done four keys, F9 through F12, will show up in the User Exec Keys window. Let's click on F9 to make it convenient. Once clicked the option on the right become available.
9) For the Execute line, click on the button to the right of the field and navigate to out UDK installation's Binaries\Win64 folder, and select UDK.exe. For Start In, copy the Execute line but leave out UDK.exe.
10) In the Parameters field, type "make" without the quote marks. This tells UDK.exe that we want to compile code instead of opening the game.
11) Change Save to All Files Before Execution.
12) Check Capture Console Output and Scroll Console to the Last Line...
Then all I have to do is press F9 and it will compile - but it doesn't! It gives me:
No user command associated with extension '.uc'
Use 'Environment Options/Execute Keys' dialog to assign commands.
It seems it is not registering the changes no matter what I do (yes I clicked apply before saying okay but even still nothing). Any ideas?
The instructions may be out of date. You'll need to select your ".uc" entry, hit "Edit", and change it to just "uc".
Also, if you use UDK.com instead of UDK.exe the console output will go directly into Context instead of going to a separate popup.
