MediaWiki installation issue - port problems

I am trying to install MediaWiki version 1.31 localy and I have run into some issues that I cant get past by. Mainly when I input datatabe connection (I am trying to connect to PostgreSQL database) information it returns this error.
Thing is the port I am trying to connect is 5433 not 5432, also the names "template1" and "postgres" are not included in my input trough the dialogue screen - I dont know where they came from. "test1" is the name of the database I am trying to connect to.
Any help or advice how to get trough this error would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
That the port you specify is not used while setting up the database schema in the first place is a long-standing known bug. One workaround is to run your database on the default port until you have wiki set up, then change it back to the port you want.
In order to create a new database, you need to connect to an existing database in the same cluster. 'template1' and 'postgres' are pre-existing databases (usually created at the time the cluster was created) commonly used to connect to in order to create a new database. These names are "well-known", you don't need to specify them.

Labview - SSMS database communication... How to communicate between Labview and Microsoft SQL Server on separate devices?

I am attempting to set up a communication between Labview and Microsoft SQL Server, on two separate devices, in order to send and receive information about the database from both labview to SQL Server and SQL Server to labview. However, when I reach the "Data Link Properties" menu, I get the same "unable to log in" error upon attempting to log into the server. The server name comes up, however, an error occurs once I move on to select the database on that server. Is there any solution or tutorial to this problem that can allow me to successfully communicate back and forth from labview and smss on separate devices?
I've opened up various ports to allow a connection, even disabled the firewalls on both devices. The devices are connected via an Ethernet cable and I AM able to ping the devices to each other. However, in regards to being unable to log into the server in ssms, I have created new users, adjusted the login properties, tried changing permissions, but anything I try doesn't seem to solve my issue.
Can't really help much without seeing the error or some of the code of what you are trying to do.
That being said, if you go to the menu and select Help>Find Examples... and search for database, you should see a bunch of different things related to database connections. You may find the Database Connection.vi one helpful.
More info on the Database Connectivity Toolkit in LabVIEW can be found here
I see there can be one of the 2 issues
1) Inbound/Outbound port rules not set, Remote connection to server is not allowed.
2) If the server has multiple instances then you need to provide full host name of the instance you are trying to connect.

getting EntityCommandExecutionException when I run the webapp connecting to duplicate db on different server

I need to test a web application.So I copied the database file and connected to the dulicate databse on different sql server.. The application is running fine when I connected to the live database but when I connected to the duplicate database on my server.. it is throwing entity command execution exception. I changed the connection string details in the webapp( source,username, pwd) and also connected in vs. Did I miss anything(in connecting to database file) ? I searched a lot.. but couldn't figure out.. what was it I am doing wrong which throws exception ? I made it run once, but it didn't work again after please throw some light on how could I approach it...?

Remote Postgres Database Heroku Connection is slow from Digital Ocean Instance

I am using Apache2 and php 5.6.,12. I decided to host my database remotely at Heroku(Using postgresql 9.4) and keep my server at Digital ocean.
In my yii 1 framework, the connection string that I have added is the following:
'db'=>array(
'connectionString' =>
'pgsql:host=ec2-XX-XX-XX-XX.compute-1.amazonaws.com;port=6372;dbname=dddqXXXXX;sslmode=require',
'emulatePrepare' => true,
'username' => 'XXXX4dcXXXX',
'password' => 'XXXXXXXXXc34XXXXXXX123',
'charset' => 'utf8',
),
The connection is successful but remote access is making it slow for even simple query in my server at digital ocean. I read from Heroku that for remote access, ssl mode has to be enabled. So I did and and I am still unable to figured out why the database connection is slow. It can be slow up to even 5 seconds. I tried with a locally installed postgresql database server and everything is running as expected. I am not sure how can I solve this else I will have to move away from Herokku and do it in the traditional way which is going to be very depressing. I hope that someone can help me.
Here is my php info og pgsql:
Is there some settings that need to be done to speed up remote heroku database access in apache2 or php?
I was unable to ping Postgres Heroku Server as advised by Richard (Heroku has prevented pinging) . It was very obvious that connection between digital ocean server and Heroku Postgres server is slow. Thus I emailed Heroku directly to ask for their advice.
Heroku's Solution:
They claimed that applications which are connecting from long distance outside the Heroku platform will have initial connection latency and this latency is a big problem.
Thus, Application has to establish a TCP connection which Postgres protocol will upgrade that to an SSL connection. This takes quite a few packets and introduces a lot of latency, particularly if the app is creating a new connection for each query or page load.
Heroku recommended me to configure the app to use something like heroku-pgbouncer connection pool. That uses pgbouncer and stunnel to provide a configurable connection pool for the app endpoints.
The recommendation sound too expensive and highly challenging for me to deal with.
My Solution :: Use Database Labs
I found out another postgres as a service provider called Database Labs . They allow users to select data center region for better performance.Database Labs has easy backend managing platform and friendly support team. The backend had minimum backend functionality and I do understand as they started in year 2014.
However, after migrating to their service, the performance of my web page improved remarkably. The connection was like any standard connection without the need for SSL. I am inputing my solution for the benefit of others who could face similar problem like me.
Heroku is definitely a good provider if we host our application in Heroku and use their database service. However If you are a Digital Ocean user, I recommend that you use Use Database Labs . This saves a lot of time
There isn't really a question here exactly, so this answer is more a guide to how to test the situation.
If you don't know enough to run a packet trace, you probably want to make sure your servers are all on the same network. However, try logging in to your Digital Ocean server and just ping the Heroku one. Repeat for www.google.com and compare the times. That's assuming the Heroku server responds to pings.
You should be able to connect with "psql -h ...". Then you can run a "SELECT count(*) FROM " then "SELECT * FROM LIMIT 10000", then "LIMIT 20000". That will let you figure out how much time is spent just transferring data vs running the query.
It might just be that the connection between your servers is very slow. Can't say without testing.

Server crashed from traffic spike, now getting database connection error

So I posted a new blog on my site and promoted it on my facebook where the traffic spike was far bigger than anticipated, the server went down from the volume of traffic and after it was rebooted I am now getting a database connection error.
I contacted my server host and they told me this:
"I was able to get the relevant database details from the wp-config.php file in the home directory for your site and, using those creds I am able to connect to the relevant database without a problem.
To be sure that I was able to connect AND make a query to the database I have also created a simple test script that can be viewed at http://yoursite.com/mysqltest.php
This confirms that the server is responding correctly and that the database itself is able to accept connections and queries.
This leaves us with the likelihood that the issue lies with the scripting/configuration of the wordpress installation which is not something I am going to be able to assist you with.
I suspect that the problem lies with the wp-config.php file but cannot be certain."
I can't see how the wp-config would have changed, I haven't touched it in over a month and it's been working fine otherwise. The website was also working fine after I posted that blog, it was only after the server was rebooted that it doesn't. All the other sites on the server remain in perfect working condition. I don't see how a traffic spike could have done this. I'm lost as to what to do next? Please help! :(
