Finger capture in React-native - reactjs

I came across an app and wanted to implement the same in React-native but I couldn't find any library which gives me this feature Or any other way to implement it.
I want to capture a single-finger picture.
Is there any library in React-Native?

Actually, if you want to capture fingerprints you can use react-native-fingerprint-scanner, or there are several React Native libraries that you can use to pass biometric security of OS, it won't give you the fingerprint data. it just uses a Native API of OS to just compare fingerprint to saved on and tell you it is passed or not.
If you considered, gathering fingerprints data from users by using biometrics, it's not possible. but you can use it another way. use camera, you know, I was studying artificial intelligence in my Master degree, I used palmprints for my project.
Or gather data from some universities or institutes like RIKEN studio.

Implementing google smart action with custom device trait

I have been trying for a while now to create a kind of "controller" for my windows pc which is integrated with google assistant.
I would like to have actions like "Turn off the internet", "Shutdown" or "Open program".
However in trying to implement this with Google smart action API I see that it "only" supports a set of traits. I know I can "reuse" different traits for different actions, like "OnOff" to control pc power, but how about starting programs on my pc?
I would like to use natural commands (Hey Google, open Word), instead of the conversational API which is (Hey Google, talk to my pc -> open Word), but I would understand if that is not possible, since the traits are how Google HomeGraph knows which devices supports the users query.
Am I going into a rabbithole of impossibilities and should I just bite the bullet and use the Conversational API?
Any open source projects which is doing this would also be appreciated, end goal is implementing something myself, but inspiration is always nice.
I previously built my own PC integration with the smart home platform and gave it a few commands.
Going through smart home means that you cannot add custom device traits. Whichever exist in the platform are it. However, there are quite a few traits available for use.
In your set of use cases, there is an AppSelector trait and a NetworkControl trait. You may be interested in using both of these.

OCR reader in reactjs

I am new in reactjs and I have a task in hand. I need to be build and application which is capable to scan a mykad(Malaysian ID card) through camera. Details like name, address, image can be extracted. I googled a bit about open source tesseract but it is not giving me the right information and also some of the informations are misspelled. If anyone can guide me in the right direction.
Eventually I will develop a PWA and deploy in mobiles as well
If you're looking for a free solution, Tesseract.js is your way to go: https://tesseract.projectnaptha.com
You need to be aware that reading data from MyKads will not only require OCR component, but also specifying semantics for the document. Meaning, you'll need to tell tesseract where the name is, where the address is, etc.
Also, tesseract will not be able to detect the document on the image. For this you'll need to use a different tool.
Disclaimer: I'm working at Microblink where we develop commercial OCR products, including one for reading data from IDs. For PWAs we have an JavaScript / TypeScript component which uses WASM to process the IDs. It supports not only MyKads but more than 500 document types in the world.

Register Embedded DirectShow filter

I am working on an application at the moment that plays back video with a DirectShow filter. The application is written in WPF and is using MediaElements to play the video. As long as the DirectShow filter is registered the video will play. At the moment I just use regsvr32 to register the filter before playback.
What I was wondering is if it is possible to load the filter from an embedded resource when the application is run? I am trying to avoid needing administrator privileges to register the filter.
Edit:
Ok I'm trying to use this information and come up with a solution. You will have to excuse my lack of knowledge in the DirectShow area. I did not write the filter, I am just trying to come up with a solution using it. I am trying to do a little more research so I understand DirectShow and its components a little better.
I found a handy ComHelper class that I'm using to load the filter.
https://gist.github.com/jjeffery/1568627
I am using the code below to create an instance of the filter.
LibraryModule module = LibraryModule.LoadModule(#"filter.ax");
var comObject = ComHelper.CreateInstance(module, new Guid("c91aa7be-f627-46e3-b79f-2de55da46a8b"));
Is this correct? I'm trying to figure out where to go next. How would I use this to build the filter graph?
Building a filter graph using unregistered filters is possible, but you have to be aware of obstacles and then decide whether it is acceptable or not.
DirectShow filters are COM objects with relaxed requirements for threading. That is, adding filters to graphs does not require full COM registration. Graph's IGraphBuilder::AddFilter will accept an interface pointer of your filter without asking you how you obtained it. This means in particular that if you take care of filter instantiation and then you build the graph manually adding filter and connecting pins - this will definitely work out well.
Filters, that you don't want to be registered, can be otherwise instantiated by creating C++ object directly, or by loading DLL and using its DllGetClassObject exported function the way COM would do it with instantiation through registration.
Another note is that COM class can be registered "per-user" without need to have administrator privileges, and such registration enables standard CoCreateInstance instantiation (but not Intelligent Connect - see below).
The typical problem on the way is scenario when you expect a filter of your interest, such as video/audio decoder, to be added automatically via DirectShow Intelligent Connect. This only works with full COM registration, or the alternate option is API hooking which I omit here. To cut long story short: if you are not registering the filters, you have to instantiate and add them to the filter graph yourself, via code.
A final note on embedding. The filter will still be hosted by DLL, so you will have to load executable code into memory. This means that you cannot load it "from resource" directly. Although there are certain methods to build executable DLL image right in memory, the easiest would be to keep filter DLL with you and load it as regular DLL from external file using LoadLibrary. If you prefer to have single binary, you can embed the DLL as binary resource, then extract into temporary file on runtime and then continue with LoadLibrary from there.

What is equivalent usage of sendmessage()[WINDOWS] in MAC OS X?

I have a ContextualMenuPlugin and an application. When user clicks the option from context menu i need to send a message to my app. In windows i achieved this using sendmessage() function. But i'm new to MAC OS X. Can any one please help me, by giving some api's or functions which will enlighten this situation?
You have plenty of choices on how to get messages into an application on your Macintosh.
The ways I'm thinking of include Apple Events or sockets or kqueues, but there's other stuff I've never even worked with that might even be more useful & appropriate (such as Distributed Objects). Check out this duplicate and/or related question and maybe you'll see a useful answer in there for you that you can build upon.
B.T.W.: how did you construct your Contextual Menu Plugin? Is it in Carbon or Objective C or is it some codeless plugin or plist or? The answer to that question probably will dictate a lot towards how you will be able to talk from your plugin to your app.
If you want to control just your application you might want to look into AppleScript. Using that solution has the added benefit that your users could also use it to automate things via scripting.

Win32 development. Standards

A call to all Win32 developers... I'm developing an application in C using plain Win32. I wanted to ask about Windows development standards regarding these things:
Is there a standard Windows error log api? For example if my client uses my app and it crashes, I would like them to send me the error log and I would prefer this being a standard location so they can maybe access it with a standard Windows log utility.
My app needs to store settings information. I think the registry is the standard utility for this task. Is that right?
My app needs to store and retrieve files that it downloaded from the internet - images, executables etc. Is Application Data/myapp the standard location to store this type of information?
My app needs a very straight-forward database - I'm using CSV for this. I basically need to store and retrieve this type of data so I'm just serializing a .csv file from Application Data/myapp. Is there a better Windows standard way of doing this?
That's all for now :). Thanks!
Is there a standard Windows error log api?
There is the Windows Event Log, but I don't think you want a typical user having to go into it to extract your logged information.
You probably don't want to log by default, unless you're shipping questionable pre-release code. When a user is experiencing problems, then you have them turn logging on. In this case, I recommend placing the file somewhere that typical users have experience with, like My Documents.
By the way, if you're writing a standalone application and want the best possible information in the event of a crash, look into minidumps. Here is a Codeproject sample.
My app needs to store settings information
Yep, registry.
My app needs to store and retrieve files
Yes, App Data. Just be sure to use SHGetFolderPath and CSIDL_APPDATA.
My app needs a very straight-forward database
There's nothing wrong with CSV for simple data. You could store the data in XML and use MSXML to process it, if you prefer. I've used SQlite in the past when I needed fast, lightweight storage of more complicated data.
