Adding multiple hyperlinks MSAccess - database

so I am creating a database that contains news reports.
For many rows, I want to be able to add multiple hyperlinks as the content is based on multiple articles online. I came up with making two tables, linking the one row of the first table to multiple rows of the other table by a certain ID (one-for-many relationships).
By creating a report, I can add multiple links but it shows up incorrect if I want to obtain a report that looks as follows:
Subject
this is the content of the first subtopic - (hyperlink 1, hyperlink 2, etc)
this is the content of the second subtopic - (hyperlink 3, hyperlink 4, etc)
How can I achieve this in MS Access?

How do I write to an access query that uses linked tables?

I have been tasked with create a tracker for company work flow.
I have 10 tables with data in them. There are attributes all the tables have in common. I made a table with those attributes, giving those records a unique ID that could join them to the unique attribute records of the original tables. I am also linking a personnel table to the original tables. All of these tables exist on my SQL Server back end. I Have made a query in Access that displays all the information I was given. I'm going to use the forms in access as a front end to display, edit, and add records.
The issue I am encountering is that I can not write to a query that has externally linked tables. I have spent a lot of time normalizing this data and I know I can get around it by making tables with redundant attributes in SQL and not writing to the query, but rather write to the linked tables instead. Just wondering if there is a way around this.
Thanks
In general, even without linked tables, such queries are NOT updatable.
The general approach when working with multiple tables is to use sub forms for the child tables. That way, each form is only bound to one table. (You are free even to bind such forms directly to the linked table).
Thus, you might say have a customer table and then a table of invoices. So your main form will display the one customer and is bound to that one table.
In the sub form, you can then display all of the invoices.
So to combine multiple tables into a form or screen that allows users to update the data, or add more data, you don’t build some query that joins all the data together, but simply combine several forms into one form. But each of those separate forms will display data from the given related child table.
Here is a typical invoice form thus built in Access:
The top part is the “main” form of an invoice. It is bound to the customer table – one record. Then the multiple lines of detail is the invoice details table. So the form does NOT use queries, but each part of the form and sub forms are bound to the given related tables. You are binding each form directly to the linked table (or tables if you need to show related data like above).
This approach allows you to cobble together a set of forms that edit related tables, but each form is bound directly to the linked table.
So the fact of linked tables or not is moot – such queries are not used to edit data and such queries from link or non-linked tables are NOT updatable.
So your form + sub forms will follow the pattern of related tables that you need to work together as one whole view and means to edit data. You don’t need nor want to use a query to fill these forms.
You most certainly will provide some kind of “search” form, or some means to pull up say one customer invoice, and that invoice along with its sub forms will display the related data, and also allow editing of that data.

SSRS - Group Columns Together

All:
I have the following data (see Raw Data attachment). Inside my SSRS Report, I have a column for "Name / Stream / Offer One / Offer Two" (Name is the column for the "Value" column shown in the image).
I need my SSRS Report to display one row of the "totals" for each Name. Then under this, I need a row for each Stream associated with the Name that displays the values for that stream.
For the SSRS Output (please see second screen shot). The data loads into my tablix, but I need one row for "BAG-CV" that displays the total for that Name. Then under this row, I need a row for "AR" stream with the data for.
If you see Name: JAC-FL, it has 5 streams listed under it. So I would need one row for the total of JAC-FL, then 5 rows under it listing all the streams associated with this name.
Hopefully this makes sense.
The concept that you are describing is a nested parent/child group (two levels of grouping in a single table). This is quite easy to do and I'll walk you through the steps for your particular scenario thanks to the helpful description and screenshots that you posted.
Create table: I would advise always starting with the innermost grouping and building the table outwards. In your case, the lowest data granularity is Stream/Offer1/Offer2 as these are displayed as raw details with no aggregation:
Add Parent Group For "Name": Click on the group at the bottom (or in the table) and add a parent group to the current table details group, making sure to include a group header (for the sum):
Screenshot #1:
Screenshot #2:
Add Fields: Add the additional fields to your table, ensuring that the middle row is using SUM aggregation as per the screenshot:
Results: You should see the additional header row on the parent group with the desired SUM.
Cleanup: The example above just creates the most basic and bare functionality. I would suggest cleaning it up and adding a visibility toggle on the details group:
PS. I realize you probably aren't in control of the database schema, but wow, exclamation marks in column names would drive me up the wall :)

How to store values from a field on excel

this is the first time posting here for me.
I have a quick question about excel. Currently I have an input page where I can input a project name and then fill out details on the project. Is there a way that I can store this information on another sheet? For example, if I type in "Project A" in the project input, then that will be saved in another sheet in a table or something, and the proceeding information (like date, price, etc) will be saved along with it. Then, if I type a new project name in, like "Project B", a new entry will be created with subsequent data.
Thank you!
The ancient Excel data form seems to still exist, even in Excel 2013.
Create a data table with headings and at least one row of data. Select the range and hit Ctrl-T or Insert > Table. This will turn the range into an Excel table.
Now either create a custom group on a ribbon and add the following command to this or your Quick Access Toolbar: All Commands > Form...
Select a cell in the table and hit the Form button that you just inserted into the QAT or the ribbon and you will see a dialog where you can create new rows in the table, and you see a few other buttons to manage data in the table, including deleting rows and searching data in existing rows.
That is the easiest no-code approach.

How to make title sortable with two different tables whose data coming from same model in cakephp?

I have a view showing two tables which data is coming from same model but based on different column status I divided in 2 tables. Problem is, when I click on top table's column name heading for sorting, it also sort the bottom tables. I'm wanting the bottom table data won't sort when I click on top table column heading title. If any one have a good solution, would highly appreciated.
This highly depends on your setup, but you're going to have to do some custom code.
For example, don't allow Cake to sort for you. See what the links look like when created by Cake, then write your own, and include an additional variable &table=1 or something.
Based on the sort variable and the table variable, build your pagination options for each including the correct sort you want for each group separately.
Another option (depending on how large your data sets are) is to use javascript datatables.

Visual studio Lightswitch

I have a two database tables, on light switch the first one called product and the second one called invoice line items.
The Product table has one column called Bought Quantity.
The Invoice line items has one column called sold Quantity.
Now I need to have a search screen with the both tables on it, but here come my question.
When I made the relationship between the two tables, then the screen will show the grid with two columns, one called the "quantity I bought" and another column "quantity I sold".
I need to make subtraction and the result will show on another column called "available".
So I have a local property called Available. Now I need code to write to make the subtraction process and then will show on the available.
That is my question.
Lightswitch screens will only show data for an entity within your project. If you want to shape your table using joins to merge tables then you'll either need to create a view in your datasource and import it into your project or use WCF RIA to shape your data accordingly.
Michael Washington has created loads of examples on how to do this, you can find them here:

Good luck.
Paul.
