I did try the following steps that has been advised but in vain. I even tried uninstalling nodejs and reinstalling and many other suggestions in StackOverflow and github. Could someone help me out here.

You should not use your own webpack config with create-react-app. If you really want to do so, do yarn ejector npm eject. It will give you access to CRA's webpack config. If I were you, I'd just start a project from scratch by downloading React as a simple library, and set everything up with Babel + Webpack. It will be much easier to learn.

create your application outside the Desktop folder.
This is because of the package versions installed in user directory. The line from the error mentions the overriding version in the global user directory.

Try updating the version in the node_modules folder in the user directory or remove these and maintain local node_modules based on each project requirements.
I found a possible solution, or at least this one worked well for me. npm install #babel/eslint-parser and then npm start . If this doesnt work, first try this:

Search where you could find that one with npm ls babel-eslint,

This is because an NPM package was installed in a folder above this one, likely in error. To remedy, start at the project folder and cd ../ into the above folder, do ls.
