react router apache config in sub directory - reactjs

i have a react app that i've deployed on subdirectory of a site,
the subdirectory is something like this www.example.com/iapp, i've also configed my package.json and Router to that subdirectory like below.
in my package.json :
"homepage": "example.com/iapp",
and in my router i've added a basename like below
<Router basename={'/iapp'}>
</Router>
everything works fine and all, but the routing is off, when i reload page anywhere but this url:
example.com/iapp nothing loads, and a blank page shows up.
i know this has something to do with htaccess and apache config for react router, but i can't seem to fix the problem.

So yeah, I found a way to do this, and it was pretty easy, so what you're gonna do is create an .htaccess file in your subdirectory, for me the name of that subdirectory was iapp and then add the below config to it, and that's it.
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /iapp
RewriteRule ^index\.html$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-l
RewriteRule . /iapp/index.html [L]
</IfModule>

React Route: 404 Not Found after refreshing the deployed application

I'm working for a company and just deployed a project for them, but I encountered an issue. so, when you go to the link http://domain, you can go to the page, and from there you can go to any other page (react route), but if you go directly to http://domain/some-end-point, it shows 404 not found. does anyone know how to fix it?
That happened because your server side doesn't handle redirect to index.html, You can fix it by config your back end to always redirect to html, or simply you can fix it from react-router using HashRouter instead of BrowserRouter
here is a full explanation about Server side vs client side routing
Add the following code to the public folder file name should be
_redirects
/* /index.html 200
refer image
You can fix this with .htaccess in the root folder :
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.html$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-l
RewriteRule . /index.html [L]
</IfModule>

Host react project in a sub-folder of a domain

I need to host my react project in a sub-folder of a domain. e.g. mydomain.com/react-project/
In the project, I am using react-router library for routing. I have this .htaccess file in the react-project folder to make work the router.
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /subdirectory
RewriteRule ^index\.html$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-l
RewriteRule . /index.html [L]
</IfModule>
For the home page, the project working fine. But for other URLs, the server shows the default apache "not found" page.
I tried to create a .htaccess file in the root folder of the server.
ErrorDocument 404 /react-project/index.html
With this .htaccess file, I wanted to redirect the browser to react projects index.html file. But it didn't work.
May be this is because of Client side, Server side routing issue.
I think when you refresh the page it shows 404 not found on server.
You can check this answer for help. Also use HashRouter instead of BrowserRouter and add basename={"/subdirectory"} in Routes.

can't switch between pages in cPanel

I'm new to web-hosting and cPanel, so please be nice to me...
I have built a website using react and managed to upload its build file to cPanel. It seems to work fine, however, whenever I try to switch between pages, I get a 404 error, although the pages clearly exist (for example, when I press a button to switch to mydomainname.com/about-us). The switching works perfectly locally using react-router..
I would really appreciate it if someone could help me solve this problem!
Thanks in advance!
This is because ReactJS uses client side routing.
To fix 404, create a .htaccess file and paste below contents and upload it to your site root. It should work.
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.html$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.html [L]
If the above did not work, try below (recommended by ReactJS team), either one of this should work
Options -MultiViews
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteRule ^ index.html [QSA,L]
The switching works perfectly locally using react-router
Routing works fine with the inbuilt ReactJS web server but not with Apache web server. Also make sure you are using react router Link component to navigate between pages and not the html anchor (a) tag.
You have to redirect all the requests to your index.html. You can edit the .htaccess for that. use <Link> from react-router to make redirections.
Follow these steps and you will be fine
Specify your homepage in your package.json file like this
{
"name": "yourappname",
"homepage": "http://example.com",//add your domain here line
"private": true,
"version": "0.0.0",
}
2.Build your app by running yarn build or npm run build
3.Then copy the contents of your build folder and paste them on public_html folder in your cpanel
3.Go to your Cpanel file manager public_html folder and edit .htaccess file or create new one if it does not exist. and paste this there
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.html$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-l
RewriteRule . /index.html [L]
</IfModule>
Note the .htaccess for this should be at the same level with the contents of the build folder.
Save and your are done

Apache 2.4 + React Router 4 always routing to my 404 page component

I'm having trouble getting my create react app build to properly route to my components on my server.
I have a .htaccess file
RewriteEngine on
# Don't rewrite files or directories
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f [OR]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
RewriteRule ^ - [L]
# Rewrite everything else to index.html to allow html5 state links
RewriteRule ^ index.html [L]
so that it always routes to my index.html
the url to my site is .com/project and my homepage option in my package.json file is homepage: '/project'
I have ran out of things to do.
Because of my htaccess it's always routing to my index.html but the router is always loading the 404 component. What am I missing.
This occured because the base routing was wrong so it was constitently routing to the 404 page.
Setting the <Router basename="/<Directory>"> and adding the homepage option to my package.json file fixed this problem.
For me worked with this .htaccess:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /project
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-l
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.html?$1 [L,QSA]

Reloading agnularjs app htaccess issue

I'm trying to set .htaccess file so after reload it will first load index.html and then change route so my routing will notice it.
I added
$locationProvider.html5Mode(true);
to angularjs .config
and my htaccess is:
RewriteEngine On
Options FollowSymLinks
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /#/$1 [L]
the bahoviour is that my spa when I load index.html is working correctly but then when I navigate to some route and press refresh it say:
Cannot GET /mailbox
What's wrong with my htaccess file? It's in root directory of project.
I'm running my project by live-server.
