WPF Combobox Style not binding property - wpf

In my WPF project I have this ComboBox style:
<Style x:Key="ComboBoxTextBoxStyle" TargetType="{x:Type TextBox}">
<Setter Property="Template">
<Setter.Value>
<ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type TextBox}">
<Grid>
<Border CornerRadius="5,0,0,5"
Background="{TemplateBinding Background}"
>
<ScrollViewer x:Name="PART_ContentHost"/>
</Border>
</Grid>
</ControlTemplate>
</Setter.Value>
</Setter>
</Style>
<Style x:Key="comboboxitem" TargetType="ComboBoxItem">
<Setter Property="Template">
<Setter.Value>
<ControlTemplate TargetType="ComboBoxItem">
<Border CornerRadius="3" Height="30" BorderBrush="{TemplateBinding BorderBrush}" BorderThickness="{TemplateBinding BorderThickness}" Background="{TemplateBinding Background}">
<ContentPresenter VerticalAlignment="Center"/>
</Border>
<ControlTemplate.Triggers>
<Trigger Property="IsMouseOver" Value="True">
<Setter Property="Background" >
<Setter.Value>
<SolidColorBrush Color="{DynamicResource BackgroundColour}"/>
</Setter.Value>
</Setter>
</Trigger>
</ControlTemplate.Triggers>
</ControlTemplate>
</Setter.Value>
</Setter>
</Style>
<Style x:Key="combobox" TargetType="{x:Type ComboBox}">
<Setter Property="Template">
<Setter.Value>
<ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type ComboBox}">
<Grid>
<Grid.ColumnDefinitions>
<ColumnDefinition/>
<ColumnDefinition MaxWidth="18"/>
</Grid.ColumnDefinitions>
<TextBox Background="{TemplateBinding Background}" Name="PART_EditableTextBox" IsReadOnly="{TemplateBinding IsReadOnly}" FontSize="{TemplateBinding FontSize}" Style="{StaticResource ComboBoxTextBoxStyle}" Foreground="White" VerticalAlignment="Center" Height="{TemplateBinding Height}"/>
<ToggleButton Grid.Column="1" Background="{TemplateBinding Background}" Margin="0" Height="{TemplateBinding Height}" Focusable="False" Foreground="White" IsChecked="{Binding Path=IsDropDownOpen, Mode=TwoWay, RelativeSource={RelativeSource TemplatedParent}}" ClickMode="Press">
<ToggleButton.Template>
<ControlTemplate>
<Border BorderBrush="{TemplateBinding BorderBrush}" CornerRadius="0 5 5 0">
<Border.Background>
<SolidColorBrush Color="{TemplateBinding Background}"/>
</Border.Background>
<Path Grid.Column="1" HorizontalAlignment="Center" VerticalAlignment="Center" Data="M 0 0 L 4 4 L 8 0 Z" Fill="#DF464B" />
</Border>
</ControlTemplate>
</ToggleButton.Template>
</ToggleButton>
<ContentPresenter Name="ContentSite"
Content="{TemplateBinding SelectionBoxItem}"
ContentTemplate="{TemplateBinding SelectionBoxItemTemplate}"
ContentTemplateSelector="{TemplateBinding ItemTemplateSelector}"
VerticalAlignment="Center"
HorizontalAlignment="Left"
Margin="5,0,0,0"/>
<Popup Name="Popup"
Placement="Bottom"
IsOpen="{TemplateBinding IsDropDownOpen}"
AllowsTransparency="True"
Focusable="False"
PopupAnimation="Slide">
<Grid Name="DropDown"
SnapsToDevicePixels="True"
MinWidth="{TemplateBinding ActualWidth}"
MaxHeight="{TemplateBinding MaxDropDownHeight}">
<Border
x:Name="DropDownBorder"
BorderThickness="1"
CornerRadius="0 0 5 5"
Background="{TemplateBinding Background}"
BorderBrush="#DF464B"/>
<ScrollViewer Margin="4,6,4,6" SnapsToDevicePixels="True">
<StackPanel IsItemsHost="True" KeyboardNavigation.DirectionalNavigation="Contained">
</StackPanel>
</ScrollViewer>
</Grid>
</Popup>
</Grid>
</ControlTemplate>
</Setter.Value>
</Setter>
</Style>
But on the arrow dropdown part (styled as a border) I try and set the Background property to bind to the template's property using <SolidColorBrush Color="{TemplateBinding Background}"/> but it won't work. I'm guessing it has something to do with the fact that it is trying to get the Background from the actual border instead of when I am calling the Combobox like this:<Combobox Style="combobox" Background="DesiredBackground"/>. How can I make it so that it binds to the correct Background?

You should bind the Border's Background property, not the Color, to ComboBox Background property.
It works with "TemplateBinding" as well, but then you are binding to the ToggleButton and not to the ComboBox. But since the ToggleButton is getting its Background from ComboBox it will work anyway.
<Border BorderBrush="{TemplateBinding BorderBrush}" CornerRadius="0 5 5 0"
Background="{Binding Background, RelativeSource={RelativeSource FindAncestor, AncestorType=ComboBox}}">

Add Label that move along my custom Progress-Bar

I have this GridViewColumn.CellTemplate:
<GridViewColumn.CellTemplate>
<DataTemplate>
<StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal">
<Grid Margin="-6,0,0,0">
<ProgressBar Name="progressBarColumn"
Minimum="0"
Maximum="100"
Value="{Binding Progress, UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}"
Style="{StaticResource CustomProgressBar4}"
Width="350"
Margin="0,0,0,0"/>
<TextBlock x:Name="fileNameTextBlock"
Text="{Binding File}"
VerticalAlignment="Center"
Margin="10,0,0,0"/>
</Grid>
</StackPanel>
</DataTemplate>
</GridViewColumn.CellTemplate>
Inside my Progress-Bar instead of show the Percentage i change it to show my Binding File:
Text="{Binding File}"
And my Style:
<Style x:Key="CustomProgressBar4" TargetType="ProgressBar">
<Setter Property="Template">
<Setter.Value>
<ControlTemplate TargetType="ProgressBar" >
<Grid x:Name="Root">
<Border Name="PART_Track"
CornerRadius="5"
Background="{TemplateBinding Background}"
BorderBrush="{TemplateBinding Background}"
BorderThickness="1"/>
<Border Name="PART_Indicator"
CornerRadius="5"
Background="{TemplateBinding Foreground}"
BorderBrush="{TemplateBinding Foreground}"
BorderThickness="1"
HorizontalAlignment="Left" />
</Grid>
</ControlTemplate>
</Setter.Value>
</Setter>
</Style>
So my Progress-Bar is filled according my Progress value (binding) and i want to add simple Label\TextBlock that will locate on the right side of my Progress-Bar and will show my Progress value.
Any suggestions how to do that ?
just simply define two Grid columns then add a TextBlock to the second column
<Style TargetType="ProgressBar">
<Setter Property="Template">
<Setter.Value>
<ControlTemplate TargetType="ProgressBar">
<Grid>
<Grid.ColumnDefinitions>
<ColumnDefinition />
<ColumnDefinition Width="Auto" />
</Grid.ColumnDefinitions>
<Grid x:Name="Root" Grid.Column="0">
<Border Name="PART_Track"
Background="{TemplateBinding Background}"
BorderBrush="{TemplateBinding Background}"
BorderThickness="1"
CornerRadius="5" />
<Border Name="PART_Indicator"
HorizontalAlignment="Left"
Background="{TemplateBinding Foreground}"
BorderBrush="{TemplateBinding Foreground}"
BorderThickness="1"
CornerRadius="5" />
</Grid>
<TextBlock Grid.Column="1"
HorizontalAlignment="Center"
VerticalAlignment="Center"
Text="{Binding Path=Value,RelativeSource={RelativeSource TemplatedParent}}" />
</Grid>
</ControlTemplate>
</Setter.Value>
</Setter>
</Style>

How can modify the wpf Expander so that the expander button is next to header text and center aligned and gets expanded down

I want to customize my expander
I have a grid and one of the column is expander with header text before the expander button. And the expander should expand and fill the complete row as shown in the picture.
I couldn't post images so the link is below.
http://i.stack.imgur.com/zVkpR.png
Can please somebody give me some thoughts how can I achieve this.
Update:
I have used the control template and was able to modify as needed but struck with one thing how to make the expanded portion fill the entire row of the containing grid.
Here is the sample code:

WPF drag and drop only working when dropping on the items in the listview

So I have a listview in which I set up drag and drop, but for some reason it only lets me drop inside the actual items in the listview, rather than on any portion of the controltemplate that I overrode. How do I make it so that I can also do drag and drop over the textblock containing the title for the column?
<ListView
Margin="0,4,0,0"
Grid.Column="0"
x:Name="NameListView"
HorizontalContentAlignment="Stretch"
VerticalAlignment="Stretch"

<ListView.ItemContainerStyle>
<Style TargetType="ListViewItem">
<Setter Property="IsSelected" Value="{Binding Path=IsSelected, Mode=TwoWay}" />
<Setter Property="SnapsToDevicePixels" Value="true"/>
<Setter Property="OverridesDefaultStyle" Value="true"/>
<Setter Property="Template">
<Setter.Value>
<ControlTemplate TargetType="ListViewItem">

/>
</Trigger>
</ControlTemplate.Triggers>
</ControlTemplate>
</Setter.Value>
</Setter>
<EventSetter Event="PreviewMouseDoubleClick" Handler="NameListView_PreviewMouseDoubleClick"/>
</Style>
</ListView.ItemContainerStyle>
<!-- Until NET 4.0 Keygesture's cannot bind to a command, so the inputbindings must be set using static commands or with code behind-->
<ListView.Template>
<!--Template Defining the layout of this treeview-->
<ControlTemplate>
<Grid
Background="{TemplateBinding Background}"

<Grid.RowDefinitions>
<RowDefinition

/>
<RowDefinition Height="*"/>
<RowDefinition Height="18" />
</Grid.RowDefinitions>

</ScrollViewer>
</Grid>
</ControlTemplate>
</ListView.Template>
</ListView>
I had a first chance exception being handled inside the drag operation, so when I fixed that code, it allowed me to drop anywhere in the listview. Basically, if an exception is thrown in the drag handlers, the mouse cursor will display not available to drop and fail drop

How to change the CornerRadius of the Combobox WPF

I want to use a ComboBox with different CornerRadius, how can I change that simply? I've tried with Style and ControlTemplate, but without any success.
I don't know if this is simple, but creating a ControlTemplate based on the default ComboBox should do the trick. Here is an example:
<Style x:Key="ComboBoxTextBoxStyle" TargetType="{x:Type TextBox}">
<Setter Property="Template">
<Setter.Value>
<ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type TextBox}">
<Grid>
<Border CornerRadius="5,0,0,5"
BorderThickness="1"
Background="{TemplateBinding Background}"
BorderBrush="Black">
<ScrollViewer x:Name="PART_ContentHost"/>
</Border>
</Grid>
</ControlTemplate>
</Setter.Value>
</Setter>
</Style>
<Style TargetType="{x:Type ComboBox}">
<Setter Property="Template">
<Setter.Value>
<ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type ComboBox}">
<Grid>
<Grid.ColumnDefinitions>
<ColumnDefinition/>
<ColumnDefinition MaxWidth="18"/>
</Grid.ColumnDefinitions>
<TextBox Name="PART_EditableTextBox"
Style="{StaticResource ComboBoxTextBoxStyle}"
Padding="5,0,0,0"
Height="{TemplateBinding Height}"/>
<ToggleButton Grid.Column="1" Margin="0"
Height="{TemplateBinding Height}"
Style="{StaticResource ComboBoxButtonStyle}"
Focusable="False"
IsChecked="{Binding Path=IsDropDownOpen, Mode=TwoWay, RelativeSource={RelativeSource TemplatedParent}}"
ClickMode="Press">
<Path Grid.Column="1"
HorizontalAlignment="Center"
VerticalAlignment="Center"
Data="M 0 0 L 4 4 L 8 0 Z"
Fill="DodgerBlue" />
</ToggleButton>
<ContentPresenter Name="ContentSite"
Content="{TemplateBinding SelectionBoxItem}"
ContentTemplate="{TemplateBinding SelectionBoxItemTemplate}"
ContentTemplateSelector="{TemplateBinding ItemTemplateSelector}"
VerticalAlignment="Center"
HorizontalAlignment="Left"
Margin="5,0,0,0"/>
<Popup Name="Popup"
Placement="Bottom"
IsOpen="{TemplateBinding IsDropDownOpen}"
AllowsTransparency="True"
Focusable="False"
PopupAnimation="Slide">
<Grid Name="DropDown"
SnapsToDevicePixels="True"
MinWidth="{TemplateBinding ActualWidth}"
MaxHeight="{TemplateBinding MaxDropDownHeight}">
<Border
x:Name="DropDownBorder"
BorderThickness="1"
CornerRadius="5"
Background="Azure"
BorderBrush="Black"/>
<ScrollViewer Margin="4,6,4,6" SnapsToDevicePixels="True">
<StackPanel IsItemsHost="True" KeyboardNavigation.DirectionalNavigation="Contained" />
</ScrollViewer>
</Grid>
</Popup>
</Grid>
</ControlTemplate>
</Setter.Value>
</Setter>
</Style>
You will need to define the VisualStates/Triggers in the Style if required

UPDATE:
After changing to get my custom version I found out it wasn't the best example to start with (editable combobox, not optimized, missing style etc ...), I found a good example on this website:

And here my custom version (to implement in Resources ex: in tag <UserControl.Resources>):

And here the Combobox and style implementation:
<ComboBox
FontSize="13"
Style="{DynamicResource theComboBox}"
Padding="15,5,15,5"
HorizontalContentAlignment="Left"
VerticalAlignment="Center"
MinWidth="100"
MaxWidth="375"
Grid.Row="1"
Grid.Column="1"
ItemContainerStyle="{DynamicResource theComboBoxItem}"
>
<ComboBoxItem>Available</ComboBoxItem>
<ComboBoxItem>Busy</ComboBoxItem>
<ComboBoxItem>On Duty</ComboBoxItem>
<ComboBoxItem>On Meeting</ComboBoxItem>
<ComboBoxItem>On Vacation</ComboBoxItem>
<ComboBoxItem>On Weekend</ComboBoxItem>
</ComboBox>
Add a ComboBox in your WPF project, right click on it and select EditTemplate> Edit a copy...
Choose a name for style and click ok.
vs create a ComboBoxTemplate for ComboBox.
now you can add a border and set desired CornerRadius to ComboBoxTemplate.

wpf chart legend

How do I enlarge those rectangles ?
I'm using wpf toolkit charts and I've tried to play with the control legend but it didn't helped.
With Blend, in the Objects panel:
Right Click on [PieSeries]
-Edit Additional Templates
-Edit LegendItemStyle
-Edit a Copy
You should get a default style:
<Style x:Key="PieChartLegendItemStyle" TargetType="{x:Type chartingToolkit:LegendItem}">
<Setter Property="IsTabStop" Value="False" />
<Setter Property="Template">
<Setter.Value>
<ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type chartingToolkit:LegendItem}">
<Border Background="{TemplateBinding Background}" BorderBrush="{TemplateBinding BorderBrush}" BorderThickness="{TemplateBinding BorderThickness}">
<StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal">
<Rectangle Width="8" Height="8" Fill="{Binding Background}" Stroke="{Binding BorderBrush}" StrokeThickness="1" Margin="0,0,3,0" />
<visualizationToolkit:Title Content="{TemplateBinding Content}" />
</StackPanel>
</Border>
</ControlTemplate>
</Setter.Value>
</Setter>
</Style>
And your control will get a LegendItemStyle
<Charting:PieSeries ItemsSource="{Binding PutYourBindingHere}"
IndependentValueBinding="{Binding Key}" DependentValueBinding="{Binding Value}" IsSelectionEnabled="True" LegendItemStyle="{DynamicResource PieChartLegendItemStyle}">
