I started learning React and FluentUI 2 hours back. I am trying out various tutorials available over internet but cannot just get through the FluentUI package installation step. I get the below error:

I tried uninstalling react and installing react#16.14.0, but that doesn't help because there are other packages that depend on react#17.0.1. What can I do?

I had same issue when trying to install fluentui package and after some trial/error loop I found that it works for me with react version 16.8 and I had to change following packages:
"#types/react": "16.8",
"#types/react-dom": "16.8",
"react": "16.8",
"react-dom": "16.8"
Hope this helps, cheers ;)
Microsoft Fluent-ui peer dependencies doesn't support React version 18. You got to wait for the package release or downgrade your application to version 16. Change your package.json.
"#types/react": "16.8",
"#types/react-dom": "16.8",
"react": "16.8",
"react-dom": "16.8"

Any idea what's going on?
As I can see you are using React Version 16.8.6 .
You need at least React Version >= 17.0.0 as you can read in the MUI docs.
I hope this solves your problem.

I think there is some error with version of react
I think this may fix your issues. try this
npm i react-google-login --legacy-peer-deps
What does this do? it ignores old dependencies for this package.
You can learn more about legacy peer deps here

I was trying to install material UI through my terminal, but it doesn't really install showing up some error. I am unsure of how I could solve this error. Kindly Suggest.
Trying add dependencies react but i cannot install any packages. I recently deleted a package-lock.json to resolve ELOCKVERIFY error. I eventually installed the following command of 'npm audit fix' but I still carry the same ERESOLVE error.

react-simple-typewriter version 1.0.13 requires version 16.x, while you have version 17.0.2.
Either upgrade react-simple-typewriter to a version that supports React 17.x (if there is one) or downgrade React to 16.x

it is a problem coming from version 7 of npm use:
npm install --legacy-peer-deps
fixed it for me
npm install react-particles-js --force
