I have created EF using codeFirst approach. In the connection string the tutor used SQL Server Express but as I have SQL Server 2019 localDB. I wrote as below
<connectionStrings>
<add name="DefaultConnection" connectionString="data source=(localdb)//mssqllocaldb;Initial Catalog=PlutoCodeFirst;integrated security=SSPI" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient"/>
I am getting exception when I try to run command update-database
Exception:

Your connection string is incorrect. It should be
data source=(localdb)\mssqllocaldb;Initial Catalog=PlutoCodeFirst;integrated security=SSPI" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient

I have created a simple console application in .NET Core with EF Core executing a SQL Server stored procedure from the server that's accessible only through a VPN connection. I was able to run the application on its own, but the container always exists throwing network error when I start it.
URL referred to implement container: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/core/docker/build-container?tabs=windows
Context: the password has special characters as well
protected override void OnConfiguring(DbContextOptionsBuilder optionsBuilder)
{
optionsBuilder.UseSqlServer(
#"Data Source=###.##.#.##\sql_dev,-#####;Initial Catalog=DBNAME;Enlist=True;User ID=UID;Password=PWD;");
}
I identified the IP and port using the following:
SELECT
CONNECTIONPROPERTY('local_net_address') AS local_net_address,
CONNECTIONPROPERTY('local_tcp_port') AS local_tcp_port
Command executing the procedure:
context.Database.ExecuteSqlCommand("EXEC dbo.spToBExecuted #Param='Value'");
I was able to successfully create the container but was not able to start the container, it exits with the following error message:
Please help me solve the issue. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 25 - Connection string is not valid), also need confirmation if the VPN has anything to do with this.

Please help me solve the issue: (provider: TCP Provider, error: 25 - Connection string is not valid),
Also need confirmation if the VPN has anything to do with this.
You're using a verbatim string literal for your connection string so you don't need to escape your backslash characters.
Try using the following instead (note the single backslash):
protected override void OnConfiguring(DbContextOptionsBuilder optionsBuilder)
{
optionsBuilder.UseSqlServer(
#"Data Source=###.##.#.##\sql_dev,-#####;Initial Catalog=DBNAME;Enlist=True;User ID=UID;Password=PWD;");
}
I managed to successfully start the container after switching to Windows container.

In the following situation:
[.NET client] -- nettcp --> [.NET service] -- integrated security --> [SQL Server]
no active directory
client is run by local user account on client machine
nettcp binding with security mode = none
service being run by local service account (local admin, has db login and db access rights)
Using entity framework, I am getting the infamous EntityException: The underlying provider failed on Open. exception, but the server and instance in the connection string is correct, the distributed transaction service is running, and more importantly, another client (different application on different machine but similar setup) is working.
Question
When a request is sent by the client, which account is used to access the database? I know that there are several reasons this error may arise but in this particular context, is there anything obvious that we're missing?
EDIT 1 - Adding stack trace

I have created a Microsoft SQL server database with Amazon RDS. I have created a security group with an inbound rule which includes my IP. I modified the DB instance to include that security group. I Copy and pasted the connection endpoint and pasted that into the server name field of Microsoft SQL Server connect window followed by a comma and port number 1433. I use SQL server authentication with the correct credentials. This is the Error I get when I try to connect, What am I missing?
Cannot connect to "copied name of endpoint...."us-east-1.rds.amazonaws.com,1433.

Solved,
I modified the DB instance via AWS portal to enable public access, then I added "TrustServerCertificate=True" to the connection string via SSMS connection options. I am able to connect now.
I am having some issue that blocked me since early this morning, I cannot connect to my sql server 2016. It is on my local even with many research on google I have not found anything that make it work :/
Friday, it was working fine and I do not recall modifying anything.

Finally, I have restart the Sql Server, connect instantly and change the number of Concurrent user. I had only 3 user connections for almost 20 connections.
Not sure if this is the right board for this, but I'm trying to set up SQL Server 2014 Express for the first time. Its installed and running on the server, but I can't log in from another machine. I forwarded port 1433, and enabled SQL Authentication for the server. My log in attempt is on the 'sa' account, and I have changed the password for that account, and confirmed that I have the correct password entered for the log-in. The server is set to accept remote connections. The server and the computer I am attempting to long in from are on the local network, and I am using the 192.168.XXX.XXX address for the connection.
