Throughout my project on every xaml file the Project Code button in designer view is disabled.
What could be possibly causing this?

Derive from Note in document To disable project code in the designer
For projects that target ARM or X64 processors, Visual Studio cannot run project code in the designer, so the Disable project code button is disabled in the designer.

I recently started to use Visual Studio 2022 Professional edition. Whenever I enable visual designer from :
Tools -> Options -> XAML Designer -> General
I check to enable the XAML designer:
When I restart the Visual Studio IDE, nothing is changed, and the option is unchecked again. I tried multiple times, and unfortunately, the XAML code is only visible while the XAML designer is always unchecked.
Hey I was having a similar issue.
Make sure you're opening the project via the actual C# project file and not through the folder explorer.
I'm using Nuget package (System.Data.SqlClient-4.8.3) in Visual Studio 2022. How do I add a button to run my C# code as an on-click for a WinForms GUI? I'm using the Entity-Framework .NET 6.0.
This youtube video is a little more comprehensive for where to find the "ToolBox", what to look for in the toolbox, and how to manipulate click actions for events:
Adding and Writing Code on Button using Visual Studio 2019
If your ToolBox is not showing, then go to views and toggle it on.
I upgraded to VS pro 2019. Using code written with VS Pro 2013, a unwanted icon appears at the top of the wpf dialog box (with a light blue background, includes icons plus "Hot Reload available"). Please advise.
XAML Hot Reload helps you build your WPF or UWP app user interface (UI) by letting you make changes to XAML code while your app is running. Hot Reload is available in both Visual Studio and Blend for Visual Studio.
If you want to disale the in-app toolbar, then open Debug > Options > General. Make sure that both options, Enable UI Debugging Tools for XAML and Enable XAML Hot Reload are not being selected
Visual Studio Community 2015. Xamarin Test Project.
I have a project which have some layouts - Layout.xaml
It shows the designer - it looks like an XML editor of some sort - but what I am looking for is the Visual Xaml Designer - where you see the results of what you do.
If you open any WPF project you will and doulbe click any of its default Xaml files - you will see a nice looking Xaml Visual and Code Editor combined. How can I enable the same within my Xamarin project?
Why Xaml that is in WPF project shows that nice Visual Editor and Xamarin Project does not? Is there a way to bind it?
It has to depend on the project type I assume.
PS: I have a droid project and the iOS and a portable library where I have those XAML files.
If you have any more questions - please ask.
Update
I tried installing Microsoft.Xaml (through Nuget Package manager) - still no luck
Update 2
I create a basic WPF project and look at its references. I matched it identically with my project - but still no luck
Update 3
WPF Project has different properties (which makes sense)
xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"
And my XAML files have these
xmlns="http://xamarin.com/schemas/2014/forms"
xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2009/xaml"
Even though I knew manipulating those would not launch Xaml Visual Designer - still tried that with no luck.
What loads this XAML Visual Designer for the WPF project????
This is the answer - there is a Xamarin.Forms Previewer
Use the View > Other Windows > Xamarin.Forms Previewer menu in Visual Studio to open the preview window. Use the Window > New Vertical Tab Group menu to position it side-by-side.
There is no direct possibility for a preview of your XAML-views, but you can use Gorilla Player(http://gorillaplayer.com/) a software which allows a such function
First of all, I am completely new to Visual Studio, so please don't be too judgmental. I have a project I need to do in C# for my studies and my team uses a GitHub repository. I am in charge of creating the GUI and I am stuck at the very beggining.
I want to create the main application window using WPF, but when I use toolbox > choose items, I can not see the WPF tab. Also, when I am trying to enable the designer view, nothing happens.
Is it perhaps the software version being Visual Studio Community 2013 causing the issue? Do I need to have the Visual Studio Professional version in order to use WPF toolbox?
I'm attaching a link to the screen of the situation below.
As I presumed, all I needed was the professional version of Visual Studio. After obtaining and installing it everything works fine.
