When running a test using jest I have the basic test suit syntax:

The problem is I have interceptors in my code which when running the test with jest command outputs:
TypeError: Cannot read property 'interceptors' of undefined
and points to the interceptors object
axiosInstance.interceptors.request.use(...
axiosInstance is the a variable storing the return of axios.create

Refered to this axios thread on SO How do I test axios in jest but it doesn't involve any interceptors so didn't really help.
This was enough in the end, plain and simple jest.fn()

Make sure to mock out the interceptors and axios.create if used:

This example assumes that the create and interceptor calls are in a place where Jest can mock them out. Placing the axios.create or axiosInstance.interceptors.request.use lines outside the scope of the function may cause the above mocking to fail. This is an example file where Jest can mock them out:

The mocking code will mock out the axios.create call and the axiosInstance calls in customRequest. Moving either the creation or interception outside the function will cause the mocks to fail.
Here is how I mocked axios.create and its interceptors:

In test I get error "Error: Cannot read property 'data' of undefined"
However if I would not use axios instance and have code like below, the test would work.

I'm pretty lost and stuck. I've tried a lot of things and some answers on similar problem that I've found on stackoverflow, but they didn't work for me. Anybody can help?
I don't want to mock axios module in mocks, only in specific test file.
I don't have also experience in Typescript and testing. This project I'm writing is to learn.
I found some workaround and at least it's working. I moved axiosInstance declaration to a separate module and then I mocked this module and delete function.

You would need to spy your getFiltersList method from ViewServiceClass class.
Then mocking some response data (a Promise), something like:

I guys I created a service in React and I need to test this part of the service, I'm using axios and Jest to do this.
I have the next code in React :

To get code coverage the code has to run while a test is running so you will want to return the Promise so you can await it in your test so the then callbacks run during your test.
Also, you can simplify validateName to this:

In your test you need to install moxios in your beforeEach and pass the mock response as the second parameter to moxios.stubRequest.
Then use an async test function and await the Promise returned by validateName:

Assuming I have a module which returns a promise.
I want to mock different outcomes of this promise to test the function where this module is part of. I mock the module like this:

The problem is now with testing an other function where the value that resolves is supposed to be different, for instance {response: { ok: false } }.
I already tried different things. First wrapping the mock in a function and give the response as an argument. --> fails for mocks can't take out of scope variables.
I tried to call jest.doMock within the test but this does not trigger the request correctly.

You can create a default mock function at the top level with jest.fn. Once you create the mock you can override the implementation of the function within the test case with mockImplementation or mockImplementationOnce. You can find more information about this in the Jest documentation.

The import are immutable so it won't work, what you should is mock the whole module. Either with a __mock__ directory or simply with:
