Since roughly one week, after a reboot of my server hardware, I have a strange error when trying to execute the following command:
USE master;
SELECT * FROM sys.messages;
Roughly translated:
Error loading the format string for error 997 with the language ID 1033, operating system error 317 (The system could not find a message string for error number 0x997 in message file 1033). Check if the resource file matches with the executable file of SQL server and if the resource file in the localized folder matches the one in the english directory. Check the memory usage.
The memory usage can't be the issue here, there is plenty of both RAM and disk space available.
I checked the resource files in the 1033 folder (this one: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL13.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\Binn\Resources\1033 ), there were no change dates newer than 2016 (and the server has had many reboots since then).
I also replaced those resource files with ones from a fresh installation of the same patch level, where I can do the query without issues but it didn't help us out.
I tried restoring the master database, which also didn't yield any positive result (I restored it to a backup one day before that reboot).
Does anybody have any other ideas about what could be done? I tried searching for articles and issues about this same problem but the only posts I found were many years old and the linked solutions no longer exist.

Moin,
I used the Oracle-Profiler from the DBMS_HPROF package a lot to find out where the right queries to optimize.
This time I ran into a problem, even though it seems to be setup correctly.
Profiling even complex parts of the application I try to optimize produce trace files that are processed without any issues by the plshprof tool that produces the HTML reports from the trace files.
When I profile this one particular procedure it produces a trace file that seems ok (it is properly ended and so).
But when I use plshprof on it, out comes always an HTML file that ends after 12542 Bytes (no, the drive is not full).
I tried executing an additional query before the problematic procedure and the result was that the HTML ended again after exactly 12542 Bytes.
In one case the HTML ended in the middle of an attribute of a tag in the other before the > of the ending tag.
From the beginning to the EOF the HTML report looks ok!
Windows Server 2019 Build 1809
Oracle Database Version: 19c (19.3) Standard Edition 2
This is how I called the profiler and the procedure:
BEGIN
DBMS_HPROF.START_PROFILING(LOCATION=>'PLSHPROF_DIR', FILENAME=> 'test1.trc');
SOME_PACKAGE.SOME_PROCEDURE();
COMMIT;
DBMS_HPROF.STOP_PROFILING;
END;
/
This how I called it:

Did anybody ever ran into this problem and/or found out what is/was the problem?
I can imagine it has to do with the complexity of the function tree called but I am not able to figure out where to start.
The procedure uses several packages and reads and writes from and to tables and views with triggers which also call functions that do the same.
Thanks in advance!
I have a Mac and just installed LaTeX and the editor Texmaker. To use the Arial font I installed it via MiKTeX Console. I also found out that by doing so, the files for the installed packages lay here:
"/Users/Mirko/Library/Application Support/MiKTeX/texmfs/install/tex/latex"
My problem is that the Editor (TeXMaker) still doesn't find the Arial-Font.
Here is my Code:
\documentclass[pdftex,openany,11pt,twoside,a4dutch]{report}
\usepackage{uarial}
\usepackage{csquotes}
\usepackage[ngerman]{babel}
\usepackage[utf8]{inputenc}
\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}
\usepackage{csquotes} % Setzen von Anführungsstrichen
\begin{document}
This is a test.
\end{document}
and here is the Error:
! LaTeX Error: File `uarial.sty' not found.Type X to quit or <RETURN> to proceed,or enter new name. (Default extension: sty)Enter file name:! Emergency stop.<read > \usepackage
But the folder arial and the file arial.sty are in the above mentioned folder.
In the MikTeX-Console I already entered the folder to Directories > Settings
I thankful for every help!
Thanks and greetings!

texmaker is not using the miktex distribution for which you installed the uarial package, but a texlive distribution which seems to be also installed on your computer. In the long run it would be best to only have a single tex distribution on your computer to avoid such problems. For mac I would suggest to keep the texlive distribution and get rid of miktex, because texlive is used by most mac users and therefore well tested compared to miktex for mac.
Now you could force texmaker to use your miktex installation by modifying the texmaker preferences, but the easier way to use Arial in your document is to switch from pdflatex to xelatex or lualatex and directly use the arial font installed on your computer

Seems like datomic not being able to write down some cache for the indexing process.
It crashes always shortly after restart trying to do the indexing job.
Last time this occurred on one of my systems I contacted support #marshall from datomic. With his help I dumped the datebase, grabbed the backup, reduced the amount of data, assigned a lot of ram ... and it worked. This time that's is not possible.
found the SOLUTION
the transactor indexer ignores the path settings in the config file ("datomic.version" "0.9.5656" and before tested) and tries to save on actual relative file path.
I made the datomic-pro folder accessible and voilà it creates a ..../data directory and indexing works
in detail:
in my debian setup i have set the database path to data-dir=/var/lib/datomic
all the db and tmp files are correctly stored in /var/lib/datomic
the datomic pro installation is in /usr/local/share/datomic/datomic-pro-0.9.5656/
My relative path starting the transactor (via start-stop-daemon) is also /usr/local/share/datomic/datomic-pro-0.9.5656/.
indexing works in my case after:
chown datomic:datomic /usr/local/share/datomic/datomic-pro-0.9.5656/
or better
mkdir /usr/local/share/datomic/datomic-pro-0.9.5656/data
chown datomic:datomic /usr/local/share/datomic/latest/data
you can watch datomic creating a /usr/local/share/datomic/latest/data/indexer folder
Hope that helps!
Seeing following errors in the server db log.
db_server.exe(): Error: db_VISTA error -920 (errno == "Bad file descriptor")
db_server.exe(): Error: Cannot open database in ".vbs\db"
Any idea, seeing this error for every 20 mins. This is happening for only two vobs.
Followed below with no luck.
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21236027
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=984&uid=swg21148639
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21133944
The About db_VISTA errors page mentions:
db_VISTA database error -920 - no lock manager is installed
db_VISTA error 2 from OpenFileMapping() of lockmgr_almd
And reference the technote "DB_Vista -920 error and Error 2 from OpenFileMapping()"
Even if this isn't exactly the same error message, check the status of your lock manager (lockmgr.exe on Windows, lockmgr on Unix), both on the client and the server.
Regarding the db_server process, you can try a stop/restart ClearCase on the server, to reset both db_server and vob_server processes.
That can be also related to almd parameters, initially found in:
/opt/rational/clearcase/config/vob/db/vob_almd_params
(for all vobs), but also found in each vobs:
/path/to/vobstorage/yourVob.vbs/db/vob_almd_params
I usually try to raise those parameters in case of 920 errors.
For instance:
-u 4000 -q 16000
That (meaning those local vob configs) would explain why you see errors in only two of your vobs.

Can't find the binary "TestCpp.exe", is there build error?
Press any key to continue . . .
I'm using windows 7 64bit .
Thanks!
I found a solution:
1.Open the "cocos2d-win32.vc2010.sln".
2.Create a new project.
3.Delete the project of step 2.
4.Close .sln file, click save.
After these steps, my batch file works well. Hope it is useful for you.
