Is there a default way to set localIdentName for css modules without ejecting?
I couldn't find such an option on the official docs so I decided to ask here if someone by any chance knows a way without ejecting and tempering with the webpack.config.js.
You do not need to eject.
Create-React-App supports css modules right out of the box as of version 2, which is now stable.
Upgrade to v2 (react-scripts#latest) by running yarn upgrade react-scripts#latest.
You just have to create a file with the extension .module.css
For example:
.myStyle {
color: #fff
}
Then you can use it like so:
import React from 'react'
import styles from 'mycssmodule.module.css'
export default () => <div className={styles.myStyle}>We are styled!</div>

The title really says it all, some components have their CSS included correctly and others are missing the CSS altogether. There is no difference between the working and non-working components that I can find, but each time I run the build script, the same components are missing the CSS. The CSS files are being imported normally -
import "./WeeklyTrend.css"
I'm using Vite as my bundler, I have not made any changes to the config beyond what comes with the react template, which I will include below.
import { defineConfig } from 'vite'
import react from '#vitejs/plugin-react'
export default defineConfig({
plugins: [react()],
base: "https://www.--fakeserverurl--.com/"
})
The css in question is missing altogether from the bundled CSS file. I'm probably missing something simple, but I really have looked all over the place with no success. Thanks in advance.
need a Stepper component from somewhere and the only adequate one I found was the MUI one. But my app uses react-bootstrap and I don't have it. In this post (Is it possible to install a package that contains only one component of Material-UI? ) the guys have given a package where you can import only the component you need, but for some reason I am required to do npm config set '#bit:registry' https://node.bit.dev which I am not okay with since I want everyone to be able to just do an npm install without additional configuration. Is there a workaround around that and is it actually okay to install the whole MUI kit and import just the Stepper ?
If you're using ES6 modules and a bundler that supports tree-shaking (webpack >= 2.x, parcel with a flag) you can safely use named imports and still get an optimised bundle size automatically.
You can use path imports to avoid pulling in unused modules. For instance, use:
import Stepper from '#material-ui/core/Stepper';
instead of
import { Stepper } from '#material-ui/core';

Please, let me know if it works or not )
Describe the bug
In my React Typescript project, I am trying to use CSS modules. I created the project using create-react-app, added TypeScript later. Then I followed the instructions from the docs to setup CSS modules in the project
Added the plugin with npm install -D typescript-plugin-css-modules
Then updated tsconfig.json
{
"compilerOptions": {
"plugins": [{ "name": "typescript-plugin-css-modules" }]
}
}
I tried to run it but it didn't run. It complained about import statement here. Though the plugin docs say it shouldn't
So I added global.d.ts, which resolved the error
Now when I run it, the Home link on the header should be white. But I see the default color
To Reproduce
Go to https://codesandbox.io/s/summer-haze-ztnf6?file=/src/index.tsx
See the Link Home
Expected behavior
Home link color should be white
Since you already solved the issue, please have a look for description: problem in accessing the scss variables in react components
in a similar way you can access classes from the module scss files.
Never mind, changing the name of the scss file to header.module.scss fixed the issue.
I am new to React but have used React Native pretty extensively.
Basically I'm struggling with something that I expect is pretty simple and common.
I want to use an NPM package bootstrap-grid-only-css (https://www.npmjs.com/package/bootstrap-grid-only-css).
I have installed it and its available in the node_modules folder. My issue is trying to import it into the app.js file.
I have tried
import { 'bootstrap-grid-only-css' } from "bootstrap-grid-only-css"
and
import { 'bootstrap-grid.min.css' } from "../node_modules/dist/bootstrap-grid-only-css"
Have also tried
const bs = require('bootstrap-grid.min.css');
none of which seem to work. all error.
Can anyone advise the correct method of import please?
Thanks very much.
If you are importing css file, then do not include file name after import
import "../node_modules/dist/bootstrap-grid-only-css"/bootstrap-grid.min.css
Just like:
import 'react-tabs/style/react-tabs.css';
Its quite simple to add bootstrap to your react application. you can follow below steps according to React Docs Adding Bootstrap
As first step you need to add bootstrap to your project via npm install.
npm install --save bootstrap
you can add bootstrap version behalf of bootstrap in above code.
Then go to src/index.js file and import Bootstrap CSS and optionally Bootstrap theme CSS in the beginning adding below line in index.js
import 'bootstrap/dist/css/bootstrap.css';
Then delete all custom css write inside the scr/App.css
Then checkout adding bootstrap code inside the App.js file.It should be worked properly.
If you want go through this video How to import bootstrap in react application you will understand how does it easy.
I have an ejected React app that is based on Create-React-App, and I am trying to install the #salesforce/design-system-react package to use the Salesforce lightning components in it. But to use this package is not as easy (seems that I need some extra configuration for Barbel and Webpeck). I don't have much experience on config Barbel and Webpeck and need some help to get me started.
Can someone please let me know how can I get that .BABELRC and the Webpack v1 files described from this site: https://react.lightningdesignsystem.com/getting-started/ ?
Many thanks,
No need to configure anything. Just import the CSS.
In your index.js, add the following line.
import "#salesforce-ux/design-system/assets/styles/salesforce-lightning-design-system.min.css";
Now you should remove the styling in App.css since the default styling in Create React App will affect your Lightning Components (font-size for example)
