The POSTGRE SQL database associated with our AppEngine project does not start giving "An unknown error occurred". The first error of this kind is reported this morning, 22.05.2019 at 7:31 Spain time, and later trials on Starting the database have equally failed with the same "unknown error" message.
Is it possible that this is related to issue 19002 reported yesterday?

We need your help to see what is happening and start the database as soon as possible. Thanks
It is possible that this Google Cloud SQL Incident #19002, cause a lot errors between this stage.
Cloud SQL provides the ability to replicate a master instance to one or more read replicas:

What is the cause of this error when data is written into the TDengine database?
TDengine ERROR (80000014): Database not ready
The error message "TDengine ERROR (80000014): Database not ready" indicates that the TDengine database is not yet ready to accept incoming data. This error typically occurs when the database is starting up, initializing data structures, or recovering from a crash.
There could be several reasons for the database not being ready:
1.The TDengine server is still starting up: In this case, the error message should go away once the server has fully started and is ready to accept incoming data.
2.The TDengine server is undergoing maintenance or is in the process of a software upgrade: In this case, you may need to wait until the maintenance or upgrade has completed before trying to write data to the database again.
3.The TDengine server has encountered an error: In this case, you may need to investigate the error log or reach out to the TDengine support team for assistance.
4.The TDengine client is not configured correctly: In this case, you may need to check the client configuration and ensure that the correct hostname, port number, and database name are specified.
If the error persists, it is recommended to check the TDengine log files and consult the TDengine documentation or support team for further guidance.
I am working on an ios project that has a Sybase (ultralite) database that is synchronized with a Sybase Sql Anywhere 12 database using mobilink.
Everything was properly, until i decided today to add some fields to the main database so that they synchronize to the main database.
I have updated the schema of the consolidated database from the main engine, then i have updated the schema of the remote database from the consolidated engine, and then i mapped the added fields together, and I deployed a new ultralite database.
Please note that it's not the first time I do a similar task, i always add fields, and sync databases..
after the update, when i synchronize using the blank ultralite database, mobilink will fail giving only this error: Synchronization Failed: -1305 (MOBILINK_COMMUNICATIONS_ERROR) %1:201 %2: %3:0
I have researched Error Number 201 in sybase and it points to: SQLE_NOT_PUBLIC_ID
and in the sybase documentation the error's probably cause is:
"The option specified in the SET OPTION statement is PUBLIC only. You cannot define this option for any other user."
I have tried to redeploy, I have tried to move the engine to a windows pc, all give the same error.. and i have no clue where this SET OPTION statement came from and how can i solve it..
Any hints are appreciated!
The problem was just caused by small network timeout value while setting up mobilink parameters.
info.stream_parms = (char*) #"host=192.168.0.100;port=3309;timeout=1"
i just changed the value from timeout=1 to timeout=300 and it worked!
I am running into an issue when trying to start a service for SQL Server 2014 Express. Each time I try to manually start my server from the SQL Server Configuration Manager, I get an error message reporting
The request failed or the service did not respond in a timely fashion. Consult the event log or other application error logs for details.
I started by looking at some posts on this and other forums for similar issues and the suggested fixes didn't solve my problem. I concluded that the error message I saw was intended as a catch-all message that describes any error that could happen. Furthermore, I concluded that I would need to consult the event logs in order to get any useful feedback on what the underlying issue is.
So I went into the service properties -> Advanced -> Dump Directory where it lead me to a collection of log files. However, the log files I saw in the directory came from a few days ago when I first set up the server. They contain some login attempts from a few days ago, but today's attempts to start the server do not have any matching logs in that location. My question is where can I find Logs for the server start up or what other tools can I use to track down what the actual issue is? any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
You can use the Event Viewer that you can find in the Control Panel. The SQL Server logs events to the Application log.
Actually, I'm working on a basic ERP for a very small business. I'm using ASP.Net MVC 4 Code First and I use Windows Azure as web hoster. All is working fine on my local computer, and deployement is done without issues : website is reachable. However, my application crash whenever a database access is required, with a "very descriptive" error : "Error. An error occurred while processing the request.". There are no clue or detailled error in logs file about this error.
After digging during two days, I've understood that my database is not initialized : all tables are created, but columns aren't set. Because tables are created, I doubt it's a connection string error, but a migrations one. All tries (though Initializer class) I have done to force a database reinitialisation failed.
I searched a while on the Internet, but I saw no one having the same issue than me.
Is trhere someone who have already encoutered this case, and is there a solution to fix it ? Thanks for your answers.
PS: Sorry for english mistakes, it's not my mothertongue :)
If the database you are using is sql than you should use
SQL Database Migration Wizard for deploying on-premises sql database to windows azure. This will do the job perfectly and effortlessly.
we have an application running on an IIS 6/ASP.NET 2.0 backed by a SQL Server 2005 STD edition X64. From time to time, the application crashes with some silly messages (some of the fileds are not found into a "select firled1, filed2.. from mytable"). I obtained a trace of the activity from the sql server taken while the application reported the errors. Note: the crash is encountered only during some heavy load on that server, like creating some reports simmultaneously by several users.
The question is: how can I use the trace file to solve the situation? How can I detect what goes wrong?
Thanks
I've got a video tutorial on getting started with Profiler at SQLServerPedia. In a nutshell, you'll want to export that trace file into a table, and then step through it in order looking at the errors that popped up. Profiler's trace files or trace tables by themselves won't say, "Here's what you need to fix in order to avoid this error" any more than a dump file will tell you "Here's the bad line of code" - you'll still need an experienced DBA to interpret the results. You may want to take the trace file to your local SQL Server User Group meeting and see if someone can help you.
OK, you need to get the trace data into a form that you can interrogate, i.e. a table.
Here are the details on how to load a trace file into a SQL Server table.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/270599
You then need to identify the events that are responsible for your issue. Search the trace for events that occurred within the database that you are interested in and that also occurred around the time of the error you experienced.
The following link provides a good starting point for SQL Server Profiler/Trace information.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms187929.aspx
Have a read through this and if you get stuck let me know.
