How the value is passed inside the indexOf()? - angularjs

In this code, the 'm' is written inside the indexOf function. But no where in the code the value is passed. I am not able to understand how this 'm' deleting the right item in ng-repeat. When i change 'm' to something else it is now working. I am new to AngularJS.
In the main.js file there is removeitem function, i am getting from where the value of 'm' is coming , it has,nt passed from anywhere. I tried removeing 'm' but it doesnt work, it deletes the last item.
var app = angular.module('myApp', []);
app.controller('cont', function($scope) {
$scope.invoice = {
number: 10,
tax: 14,
items: [{
description: "",
quentity: 10,
cost: 300
}],
};
$scope.currency_symbol = [{
name: 'Indian Rupee',
currency: '₹'
},
{
name: 'USD',
currency: '$'
},
{
name: 'Euro',
currency: '€'
}
];
$scope.addItem = function() {
$scope.invoice.items.push([{
description: "description",
quentity: 1,
cost: 1
}]);
}
$scope.removeItem = function(m) {
$scope.invoice.items.splice($scope.invoice.items.indexOf(m), 1);
}
$scope.subTotal = function() {
var total = 0.0;
angular.forEach($scope.invoice.items, function(item, key) {
total += item.quentity * item.cost;
});
return total;
};
$scope.calcuteTax = function() {
return (($scope.subTotal() * $scope.invoice.tax) / 100);
};
$scope.grandTotal = function() {
return ($scope.subTotal() + $scope.calcuteTax());
};
});

How do i make the code delete the item on which i click ?
Add item as an argument to the removeItem function:
<tr ng-repeat="item in invoice.items">
<td text-align="center">

<a class="btn" href="" ng-click="removeItem(item)">
<strong>[x]</strong>
</a>
</td>
$scope.removeItem = function(m) {
$scope.invoice.items.splice($scope.invoice.items.indexOf(m), 1);
}

How to update the number of columns in an angular table

I want to change the number of columns on modifying a boolean variable.
Check my example (in plnkr):
angular.module('ui.bootstrap.demo', ['ngAnimate', 'ngSanitize', 'ui.bootstrap']);
angular.module('ui.bootstrap.demo').controller('myCtrl', function($scope, $log) {
$scope.debug = {};
$scope.fields = [{
header: "first",
hideField: !$scope.debug.flag
},
{
header: "second"
},
{
header: "third"
},
{
header: "fourth"
},
];
$scope.entries = [{
first: "hello1",
second: "hello2",
third: "hello3",
fourth: "hello4"
}, ]
$scope.myBool = true;
});
<!doctype html>

<hr>
<h2 class="label label-info">table 1 with property.hideField = true</h2>
<table class="table table-hover">
<tr>
<!-- Headers of list-->

</tr>
<tbody>
<tr ng-repeat="entry in entries">
<td ng-repeat="property in fields" ng-if="!property.hideField">

</tr>
</tbody>
</table>
<h4 class="label label-info">table 2 with ng-if => property.hideField = false</h4>
<table class="table table-hover">
<tr>

<td ng-repeat="property in fields">

</tr>
</tbody>
</table>
</div>
</body>
</html>
How to reproduce it:
Click on the red button and the flag will toggle from false to true.
Expected behavior:
Table 1 starts with 3 columns. It should show four after clicking.
Table 2 starts with 1 column. It should show 0 columns after clicking.
Table 3 is just a control table with all the data.
Your heading would become visible if you modified the value of its hideField property. But you're not doing that. You're modifying the value of $scope.debug.flag.
The fact that hideField was initialized with the value of $scope.debug.flag won't magically change hideField every time you change $scope.debug.flag.
Just like if you do
var a = 1;
var b = a;
a = 42;
The value of b will still be 1. Not 42.
Changing the value of $scope.debug.flag won't change the value of hideField. Because, it has already been initialized at the time of controller load. The workaround you can apply here is bind that hideField to a method and evaluate that in your ng-if. Sample below.
JS:
$scope.fields = [{
header: "first",
hideField: function() {
return !$scope.debug.flag;
}
}, {
header: "second"
}, {
header: "third"
}, {
header: "fourth"
}, ];
HTML:
<h2 class="label label-info">table 1 with property.hideField = true</h2>
<table class="table table-hover">
<tr>
<!-- Headers of list-->
<th ng-repeat="property in fields" ng-if="!property.hideField()">{{property.header}}
</th>
</tr>
<tbody>
<tr ng-repeat="entry in entries">
<td ng-repeat="property in fields" ng-if="!property.hideField()">
{{entry[property.header]}} {{!!debug.flag}}
</td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table>
This is not a clean solution though. But, still will solve your problem.

ng-repeat not binding event though I'm getting data

Forgive me because I'm relatively new to AngularJS. I have a situation where I am calling to a WebApi webservice. I have two pages, one that binds and one that doesn't, with the same code in both. I can see that the webservice is being hit and IS returning data. Any idea what the problem could be??
This is the data that is being returned by the webservice:
[{"id":1,"name":"Chester" , "gender":"Male" , "salary":25000},
{"id":2,"name":"Mary" , "gender":"Female" , "salary":15000},
{"id":3,"name":"Tim " , "gender":"Male" , "salary":22000},
{"id":8,"name":"Wayne", "gender":"Male" , "salary":81231}]
The code that works is as follows:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<title></title>
<script src="Scripts/angular.js"></script>
<script src="Scripts/EmployeeAngular.js"></script>
<meta charset="utf-8" />
</head>
<body ng-app="MyModule">
<div ng-controller="MyController" ng-init="initController">

<tr>
<th>ID</th>
<th>Name</th>

<td>{{employee.id}}</td>
<td>{{employee.name}}</td>
<td>{{employee.gender}}</td>
<td>{{employee.salary}}</td>

I am getting the heading, but no actual data from the web service.

function AngularInit()

$scope.gender = '';
$scope.salary = '';
$scope.id = '';
$scope.DisplayAction = '';
$scope.gotdata = false;
DisplayList();
}
function GetAllEmployees($http) {
//$scope.Message = 'NULL';
//$scope.employees = {};
$http.get('http://localhost:65315/api/employee').then(function (response) {
$scope.employees = response.data;
$scope.Message = 'OK';
$scope.go = true;
},
function (err) {
$scope.Message = 'Call failed' + err.status + ' ' + err.statusText;
$scope.employees = {};
$scope.gotdata = false;
}
);
window.setTimeout(function () {
$scope.gotdata = true;
}, 1000);
};
function DisplayList() {
//call the web service to get the list of people
//set the display action so that the list will be displayed

$scope.DisplayAction = 'List';
};
function CreateNewEmployee() {
$scope.name = '';
$scope.gender = '';
$scope.salary = '';
$scope.id = '';
$scope.DisplayAction = 'Create';
};
function ShowDetails(id) {
//call the web service to get the details of the person
//Set the $scope.CurrentEmployee
$scope.DisplayAction = 'Details';
};
function CreateEmployee() {
//perform the actual creation based on $scope.CurrentEmployee
//if successful
DisplayList();
};
function DeleteEmployee(id) {
$scope.DisplayAction = 'Delete';
};
function DoDeleteEmployee(id) {
//Perform actual deletion
//if successful

};
function EditEmployee(id) {
//get the employee based on ID
$scope.DisplayAction = 'Edit';
};
function EditUpdate() {
//perform the actual update based on $scope.id
//if successful
DisplayList();
};
}
);
var app = angular.module("MyModule", []).controller("MyController", function ($scope, $http)
{
$scope.MadeItHereMessage = 'We made it to the controller (first controller)';
$scope.employees = {};
$http.get('http://localhost:65315/api/employee').then(function (response) {
$scope.employees = response.data;
$scope.Message = "OK";
},
function (err)
{
$scope.Message = "Call failed" + err.status + " " + err.statusText;
}
);
});
Replace the call to window.setTimeout with the $timeout service.
//window.setTimeout(function () {
//Use $timeout service
$timeout(function() {
$scope.gotdata = true;
}, 1000);
The $timeout service is properly integrated with the AngularJS digest cycle. Changes to $scope made with setTimeout are not immediately seen by the AngularJS framework.
For more information, see AngularJS $timeout Service API Reference
Your template is loaded before you get the http data. So a solution is to display the template when the ressource is loaded with ng-if.
Can you try:
<tr ng-repeat="employee in employees" ng-if="employees && employees!={undefined}">
First you don't need to pass the $http into your "GetAllEmployees"-Function because it's already there!
Second, I would suggest to use the "$q" to save the response into a variable. Check this out

how to have a popup child tr for every tr element on ng-click

I have a table which using ng-repeat
<table>
<thead>

<th>Assets</th>
<th>Location</th>
<th>Size</th>
<th>Price</th>
<th>Actions</th>

<tr id="child" data-ng-repeat="assets in vm.employees" class="collapse row{{$index}}">
<div>i' have to be shown under every tr element when clicks
</tr>

If i click on the i element which is in parent tr, i want the child tr popup under that tr element. i already tried something like this
$scope.childRowToggle = function($event){
$('#childrow').remove();
var $this = $($event.target);
var $obj =$this.parent().parent();
console.log($obj.attr('class'));
$("<tr id='childrow'><td colspan='5'>Dummy Data</td></tr>").insertAfter($obj);

Have you thought of using tooltips ? UI-Bootstrap has really nice tooltips which would do exactly what you want. You can choose if you trigger the tooltip on hover or on click. Have a look at this fiddle.
HTML:
<!doctype html>
<html ng-app="App">
<body ng-controller="Ctrl">
<table>
<tr ng-repeat="a in assets">
<td tooltip-html-unsafe="{{a}}<br />blabla" tooltip-placement="bottom">{{a}}</td>
</tr>
</table>
</body>
</html>
JS:
angular.module('App', ['ui.bootstrap'])
.controller('Ctrl', function($scope) {
$scope.assets = ['a', 'b', 'c'];
});

How to use select All option for radio button?

Here I have created a record using some radio button. And what I need is when I select the selectAll radio button the selected records should appear in the same page.
When I unselect any radio button in a record the black mark in selectAll checkbox should not appear in the checkbox the same example which we use in our g-mail where gmail use the check box and I'm trying to do it with radio button.
-----here is my index.html-------
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<script data-require="angular.js#1.4.0-beta.6" data-semver="1.4.0-beta.6" src="https://code.angularjs.org/1.4.0-beta.6/angular.js"></script>
<link href="style.css" rel="stylesheet" />
<script src="script.js"></script>
</head>
<body ng-app="myApp">
<span>Table One</span>
<div ng-controller="peopleCtrl">
<label>
<input type="radio"
ng-model="allChecked"
ng-click="checkAll()" /> Select All
</label>
<table width="400" border="1">
<tr>
<th>check</th>
<th>Id</th>
<th>Name</th>
<th>Age</th>
</tr>
<tr ng-repeat="person in people">
<td>
<input type="radio" ng-model="person.check" ng-click="changeCheckAll()" />
</td>
<td>{{ person.id }}</td>
<td>{{ person.name }}</td>
<td>{{ person.age }}</td>
</tr>
</table>
<br>
<span>Table Two</span>
<table width="400" border="1">
<tr>
<th>Id</th>
<th>Name</th>
<th>Age</th>
</tr>
<tr ng-repeat="person in people | filter: {check:true}">
<td>{{person.id}}</td>
<td>{{person.name}}</td>
<td>{{person.age}}</td>
</tr>
</table>
</div>
</body>
</html>
And my script page
// Code goes here
var myApp = angular.module('myApp', []);
myApp.controller('peopleCtrl', function($scope) {
$scope.people = ([{
id: 1,
name: "Anil",
age: 21
}, {
id: 2,
name: "Niladri",
age: 20
}, {
id: 3,
name: "Venkat",
age: 22
}]);
$scope.checkAll = function() {
for(var i=0; i < $scope.people.length; i++) {
$scope.people[i].check = $scope.allChecked;
}
};
$scope.changeCheckAll = function() {
for(var i = 0; i < $scope.people.length; i++) {
if (!$scope.people[i].check) {
$scope.allChecked = false;
return false;
}
}
$scope.allChecked = true;
};
});
And my plnkr:http://plnkr.co/edit/RKAdEZYvsJu5wbhIs41A?p=preview
<div ng-controller="peopleCtrl">
<label>
<input type="checkbox"
ng-model="allChecked"
ng-click="checkAll()" /> Select All
</label>
<table width="400" border="1">
<tr>
<th>check</th>
<th>Id</th>
<th>Name</th>
<th>Age</th>
</tr>
<tr ng-repeat="person in people">
<td>
<input type="checkbox" ng-model="person.check" ng-click="changeCheckAll()" />
</td>
<td>{{ person.id }}</td>
<td>{{ person.name }}</td>
<td>{{ person.age }}</td>
</tr>
</table>
radio button is intended to be used when you want to give the user an option to select just one option in a set of options. You are using the radio button wrongly. Checkbox works perfectly here! http://plnkr.co/edit/udgGcsMTubxf4yZapm10?p=preview
