How to capture screenshot on KaiOS device (Nokia 8110 4G) - mobile

Does anyone know how to capture screenshot on Nokia 8110 4G (KaiOS)?

You may follow these steps to get screenshot via Firefox WebIDE.
On the device - dial *#*#33284#*#* to enable developer mode. There will be a bug icon on the status bar.
Download Firefox 58.
[Important] Disable your internet access, this is to prevent Firefox got updated to a newer version which might break the WebIDE functionality.
Launch Firefox 58 and disable auto update.
Resume your internet access.
Launch WebIDE in Tools > Web Developer > WebIDE.
Restart the WebIDE (because the ADB helper would be downloaded automatically, and need to restart it to take effect.)
Now you should be able to see Nokia 8110 detected under "USB devices" at the right panel. (if not, see below)
Click the device, "Nokia 8110", and then click Screenshot.
See here for a sample screenshot.
Troubleshooting if you failed to see Nokia 8110 detected:
I found it might fail if your Firefox got updated to a newer version automatically, in this case you might need to leverage creating new profile to start over again, see here for details.
If the Firefox version stays correctly at 58 but after you click the device, it shows an error saying "Failed to connect", try to reboot the phone and also restart the WebIDE as this post suggested.

EDIT: Yes it is - Joelbert W's answer worked and makes the other responses a bit silly by comparison, just * and # together :-)
Unfortunately, it is currently not possible :-(

It is possible either with WebIDE connection or with a custom ROM such as GerdaOS where you can make screenshots by pressing Power with half-open slide lid.
However, I'd only recommend installing custom ROMs for experienced users only since you can't use any official updates after installing them.

So I have a go flip 3, and i stumbled on if u press * and # almost simultaneously, it takes a screenshot.

I believe it's possible on certain devices and OS versions using the Screen Capture API as well.

pgadmin 4 v4.28 keeps loading

I installed pgadmin 4 v4.28 and it keeps loading but does not open, I tried opening it as administrator and it still does not open. I had the older version previously but I have deleted PostgreSQL DB and pg admin properly before I install the above version. can you guys help me out on this? the link I have the screenshot of the problem.
Do the following steps to resolve this:
Open your registry editor.
Change the value of HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.js\Content Type from text/plain to text/javascript.
Restart the pgadmin server. You can do this by ending the pgadmin background task from the task manager.
UPDATED ANSWER
PGAdmin has been tracking this as bug 5996. In it, they recommend the following solution:
You can add the following lines to the "config_distro.py" and
restart the pgAdmin 4 server:
import mimetypes
mimetypes.add_type('text/javascript', '.js')
The above workaround should work for you.
They also mention:
In the next release, we're looking to include that into the code, so
users don't have to do it themselves.
But the answer to your question, the config_distro.py can be overwritten
in the subsequent upgrades.
pgAdmin does provide another option to set the settings in the
config_system.py file which is intended for system administrator to
include settings and which is outside of the pgAdmin installation.
Please refer https://www.pgadmin.org/docs/pgadmin4/4.28/config_py.html
for more details.
PREVIOUS ANSWER
Another answer had comments asking what caused this/how the author figured it out.
For posterity, this is documented in the FAQ:
When I launch pgAdmin 4 v4.28 or later on Windows, the loading page
never closes. Why?
pgAdmin 4 v4.28 includes additional security features, one of which is
intended to prevent security issues caused by Content Sniffing.
Unfortunately some Windows systems are misconfigured such that this
causes Javascripts used by pgAdmin to fail to load. Opening the
developer tools on your browser will show an error similar to this:
> Refused to execute script from
> 'http://127.0.0.1:57313/static/vendor/require/require.min.js?ver=42800'
> because its MIME type ('text/plain') is not executable, and strict
> MIME type checking is enabled.
>
> (index):39 Uncaught ReferenceError: require is not defined at
> (index):39
This will occur when the value of the registry key at
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.js\Content Type is set to text/plain. To resolve
the issue, use the Registry Editor and reset the value of
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.js\Content Type to:
text/javascript
Finally, restart the pgAdmin server.
Interestingly enough, GoLang, TensorBoard, Django, and many others have had issues filed regarding this same problem. Browsers are refusing to load content because the browser thinks it is being transferred as 'text/plain', based on the registry configuration.
Edited on 25 May 2022 (New Link for pgadmin4 download)
You all have great answers...but then on the experience i just had, the simplest way, which worked for me right away is to install the new version of pgadmin4 without necessarily uninstall the existing one.
That is what i did and i was able to still see all my databases and tables unchanged and untempered.
Just run the installation and you are good to go
You can also downgrade your PgAdmin. I didn't want to change anything in registry editor. So I downloaded and installed pgadmin4-3.6. It works fine on Windows 10 (x64).
I just upgraded PG Admin from v4.28 to V4.29 and it resolved my issue. One can download the latest version from here for Linux, here for Windows and here for Mac.
This is similar to vialy's recomendation. Thanks Vialy's for your input it save my day... :)
I had the same issue with pgAdmin 4.28 using Chrome Browser on windows 10. It started working after I switched to Edge Browser.

Not getting touch events in Google Chrome Windows 10 after Multi-Touch or Gesture

We are building a kiosk app and noticing some odd behavior with Google Chrome. To debug, we are monitoring all of the incoming events with monitorEvents(document); through the dev console and noticed 2 different kind of scenarios.
Eventually after a few minutes of heavy multi-finger/gesture use, we are stuck in a touchstart/touchend loop where touchend does not propagate down to a mouse/click event (breaking our app as we only handle onClick). It is continuously stuck in touchstart-touchend-touchstart-touchend for every finger click.
A continuation of scenario 1 with heavier use, we are getting absolutely no events in the console, not even a touchstart.
We are using Chrome 62 with Windows 10 with the following flags:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe --kiosk --incognito --disable-pinch --overscroll-history-navigation=0 URL
We have tried to add --touch-events, add --disable-gpu, remove our previous flags, but still facing the same issue. It seems to be an issue between Chrome and Windows as we are able to replicate it on google.com (with getting no events). When we plug in a mouse, we are able to click the buttons so the app is not frozen, we are just not getting any touch events (only mouse works at this point). Touch is still working on the Windows and Chrome App level, just not our app viewport.
The kiosk is a Dell All-in-One machine. Has anyone else experienced this kind of issue?
Thanks!
UPDATE: Using Chrome 68+ I no longer have this issue. I have not tried versions between 62 and 68 to see where it was fixed but I am glad that it is!
It is a little late now, but maybe this will bring some closure. I experienced the same problem and like you, only in Chrome. The best I could determine was that this glitch is dependent on a particular model of touchscreen in the computer.
Check the hardware IDs for the touchscreen in Device Manager. Only the Inspiron 20-3059 models with a touchscreen made by Advanced Silicon (VID_2149&PID_4C39) exhibit this behavior. Other 20-3059 models with a different touchscreen model (VID_0457&PID_1192) work fine.
Oddly enough, later Inspiron 20-3064 models also work fine, though they also had Advanced Silicon touchscreens. The PID was increased to 4C3E so perhaps they discovered this issue and fixed it for the newer model.
I wasn't able to find any combination of driver/firmware/Chrome versions that would fix the problem, but this is as close to a root cause as I could get.

Android Things - pico i.mx7 unable to connect

I've just unpacked my new Pico Pro Maker Kit and started flashing procedure. After creating a product in AndroidThings platform and downloading the build I've started flashing procedure.
Command flash-all.sh failed on fastboot syntax, so I've build that manually and found that it was failing on part "set_active _a". I've skipped that and continued to flash device.
Now device is rebooted, I can see on the screen androidThings logo and version + info about network status ("not connected").
I'm unable to find this device in
fastboot devices
or
adb devices
so it looks like I have no way to connect into it.
Do you know a way of fixing that? Is there any way to force fastboot reboot on that device?
Thanks!
I had a related problem for IMX7 on initial install, I thought I'd pass along the Boundary feedback in case it helps. Tech support at Boundary devices recommended that I try the following:
Please try to add androidboot.dm_verity=disabled and
androidboot.selinux=disabled options to bootargs.
I presume these would be options you'd set at the boot prompt ==> (from the serial connection) but I haven't had a chance to test, which I may get to next week. Interested in your feedback if this has any impact to your situation in the meantime.

Installing Gears in 2012

For one of the customers of my company, I have to get Gears working. To explain briefly, they have a site using the Gears local database and now want to really use localStorage (at least for browsers supporting it and still use Gears for the old ones).
To refactor the code and ensure that the HTML5 version works as the Gears version used to work (and that I do not break the existing system is also a plus). And here comes the problem: Gears is not supported anymore and seems unable to install.
My dev' machine is using OSX Snow leopard. I tried the Gears custom installer made by the authors of MailPlane (http://mailplaneapp.com/download/google_gears/) to enable gears on Safari. The installer runs without any issue and I have a "Google Gears settings" entry in Safari's menu. But the code does not work, here's the console output for the database creation code:
> google.gears.factory.create('beta.desktop')
Error
line: 2
message: "'undefined' is not a function (evaluating 'google.gears.factory.create('beta.desktop')')"
sourceId: 419639712
__proto__: Error
(this is the code I got from the customer).
In the console, when I try accessing the Gears factory, I just get a simple html object:
> google.gears.factory
<object style="display: none; " width="0" height="0" type="application/x-googlegears"></object>
In Gears preferencies, there's a site of sites for which I can allow Gears to run, but I can't add localhost there (I can't add anything in fact).
As I can't get Safari/Gears working, I decided to setup a WinXP virtual machine, maybe it would work here.
I was able to download the Gears installer. But this one needs file that have been removed from Google servers (at least I guess, but I don't have any firewall installed so I don't see what could block the installer when getting the files ...).
I also tried old Chrome installers (apparently Gears was shipped in Chrome 12-) but none of the installers work (they just, well, do nothing. I even tried to start them from the command line to expect a bit of output but I got nothing).
Another option would be to get a Firefox gears add-on, but they all seem to have disappeared :/
So, the question (finally): does anyone here still have to use Gears and how do you get it running on new machines ?
Cheers,
Vincent
I think The Google Gears API is no longer available.
Please see https://developers.google.com/gears/ page.
Thanks,
Jigar

unable to view silverlight based sites -Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded

I am trying to browse silverlight.net from a fresh windows2008 machine
I try to download the silverlight plugin displayed in the above site, instead the error message below is shown.
Error: Your current security settings
do not allow this file to be
downloaded.
I tried adding the site to trusted zone as well but no use
Is there anyother tweak I need to do
Windows Server 2008 comes very locked down. Way too much so, in my opinion. My first recommendation would be to download and install Chrome, which is a much better browser all around, and then go from there. But that aside, you can also try:
Try this (from here):
Open Internet Explorer browser
- Go to Tools menu
- Select Internet Options
- Go to Security tab
- Select Internet zone
- Click on "Custom level..."
- Under Downloads category, enable the option "File download"
- Under Miscellaneous category, select Prompt (recommended) for the option "Launching applications and unsafe files"
- Under Miscellaneous category, select Prompt (recommended) for the option "Launching programs and files in an IFRAME"
- Validate the changes by clicking on OK
- Leave the Internet Options
- Close the browser
- Re-open it, this issue should be fixed ^^
Arcgis.com also uses SilverLight. It complains "This application requires you to update your browser with the Microsoft Silverlight plugin. Click here to update." The update link seems to be valid, and works after applying Ken Smith's answer from 31Jan, but downloads a 32-bit version under IE 11.0.9600.17207, under Win 8.1 x64. The installer says a newer version is already installed, and aborts. After restarting IE, back to the same complaint at arcgis.com.
Clearly IE under Limited User acct has some additional setting(s) that need tweaking. IE under Admin acct works fine accessing arcgis.com .
Via: www.iegallery.com/Addons/Details/644, tried "Add to Internet Explorer", but nothing happened. JavaScript must be enabled.
However, even after getting to a place where the valid version of SilverLight will download, the install fails, because "the same version is already installed". So IE under a Limited User acct is Still w/Out SilverLight plug-in...
