I have a lot of databases, and I have exported the schemas (including table name, PK, FK, etc) from my databases and formatted them in Json format. I want to display the ER diagrams on my my website, any suggestion?
I found there are many online tools to create ER diagrams, but no tools can display ER Diagrams web site.
Thanks in advance.
You can try the Oracle SQL Developer that allows to create ER diagrams and export them to HTML/SVG, PDF, PNG.
At the Oracle SQL Developer you can click the [File]->[Data Modeler]->[Import] and choose from a variety of formats including DDL, SQL, XML, Data Dictionaries etc. You can read the documentation of the Oracle's SQL Developer about the reporting and modeling functionality provided.

I want ER Diagram of how the tables are related to one another for a Project.
So that the entire team can have a look at the ER Diagram of our project.I am using postgresql and to be specific pgadmin4 for administration of DB. I have defined the tables and provided necessary relationship between them. But I am not able to export the relationships as ER Diagram using PgAdmin4. I searched on google there were examples but all of them where related to the older versions(3.x). Does any one know how to do this using PgAdmin4 or I have to switch to another tool for ER Diagrams though I don't want to switch , it is my last option.
I have done ER Diagrams in Sql Server Management Studios by Microsoft. It provides a feature to do so with in a database. I am new to pgadmin4 or any version of it. But I have downloaded the latest version of it now , so if someone with prior experiance of pgadmin4 and ER Diagrams could help me with it.
I have a simple setup now which will grow as all the requirements come to us. What we have now is : Tables : A1,A2,A3,A4,B1,B2 . I have defined relations between all of them. But I want some tool in Pgadmin4 to give me ER Diagram of this relationship.
I am using a legacy EHR system. Users input data through a front end. Data can be queried using a query tool. The tool allows data sources or tables to be viewed and reports to be generated. I see Visio allows databases to be reverse engineered into a ER diagram. The data sources associated with this database are INT, DEF and TD extensions. Does Visio allow you to reverse engineer a group of data sources into an ER diagram?
I have created a Database in DB2 and tables with relationships. I would like to create a ER diagram based on my database design in DB2. MS SQL has a facility to create ER diagrams from DB schema, but DB2 doesn't seem to have one, at least to my knowledge.
Any one know of any open source tools/facility within DB2 itself for this?
You could try TOAD for DB2 (freeware and commercial versions).
Download here
Also IBM Data Studio looks promising.
DbVisualizer can visualize (and much more) just about any database, provided that the relevant foreign keys have been defined. DbVisualizer isn't open source, but there is a free edition of it (which isn't limited regarding visualization).
You can use Visio and do a database reverse engineering. I have done it and found it to be quite neat.
Reverse engineer an existing database into a database model
TOAD for DB2 freeware does not have the ER diagramming feature enabled. It is available only in the commercial version. ER Studio is another (expensive) option. Try Visio 2000 Enterprise edition if you can get one. It is available on ebay for about $35. Microsoft has moved the reverse engineering option in subsequent version of Visio to the expensive enterprise architect bundles.
Aqua Data Studio has an ER Modeling tool which will work with any RDBMS. You can create, explore, detail, and modify database schemas to create fully editable and scriptable diagrams of database relationships and objects. The link to download is www.aquafold.com
Is there any tool for ER modeling and then converting models to a Microsoft SQL Server database?
The tool should has this features:
ER Diagrams shoud be in UML Notation (see this, the last is UML notation).
Export models to a Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 database (by creating a mdf file or connecting to a MSSQL Server and creating suitable database in it).
I tried Microsoft Visio but seems not support UML Notation nor Exporting to MS SQL Server.
I also tried Visual Paradigm but i'm not sure i could export models to MS SQL Server.
I DID export my ER Model to SQL Server database with DB Visual Architect (a product of from Visual Paradigm family).
DB Visual Architect can export ER model to MSSQLServer/MySQL/...
It also let me to convert a ER Model to a class diagram that is identical to a UML notation.
However, it's not free.
anyway, Thanks all!
Take a look at the following Microsoft Reference
When All You Want is an ER Diagram
If you accept commercial software, there are some choices:
Upgrade to Microsoft Visio Professional - it supports UML and database modelling
Enterprise Architect
Power Designer- my preferred tool for working with ER diagrams.
ErWin
There are many variants, e.g. many choices listed here.
Personally I prefer ERD diagrams for databaser data models. SQL Power's data architectis great for that, and it supports any RDBMS (through JDBC). It does not support UML though.
http://mysql.com/products/workbench/ does support some UML notation, but generates MySql Specific SQL. You can write a plugin for it to generate other SQL dialects
Visual UML can:
UML
Database reverse engineering
Database forward engineering -- generate DDL scripts.
If you want to directly connect and generate DB and sync models (forward/reverse) try:
Erwin (no UML)
Toad (no UML)
You can use my online database code-generator to generate SQL Server DDL Scripts (and Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL,...) from UML models. Instead of forcing you to use a specific UML tool to draw the models, several UML tools are allowed (including Microsoft Visio but also ArgoUML, Eclipse UML,...).

I remember answering a similar question but cannot find it right now. I advised using DIA with SQL to DIA found here
I know in Access there is a way I can visualize the relationship between tables in a diagram - kind of like an ER diagram.
I am new to Oracle. I am wondering if I can do the same/similar thing with Oracle. Could someone give some suggestions?
Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler - Tool recently launched by Oracle.
Schemaspy is good if you require an offline easy to navigate html report.
Oracle don't provide a tool for free. Their SQL Developer Modeler is pretty good but price-y if you need to buy a commercial license.
If you are interested in platform independence then Power Architect is FOSS.
Download Oracle Data Access Components (ODAC), which is usually packaged with Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio. Follow the install instructions for the Oracle ODBC driver. Add a System DSN (Start > Run > type odbcad32 press ENTER).
No you can open an entity-relationship diagram through MS Access, MS Visio, Visual Studio, Enterprise Architect, or other ODBC-compliant data tools.
For example, in MS Access: File > Open > Under "Files of type", select ODBC Databases. This selection is at the bottom of the drop-down list. Select "Database Tools" tab, then "Relationships" to view the Oracle table relationships. Here is a link to an article where Oracle provides documentation on how to visualize the relationships during a migration from Access.
In MS Visio, choose FILE > NEW > "Software and Database" > "Database Model Diagram". Then select "Database" from the top menu, and "Reverse Engineer". Select the ODBC connection. If you get an error, hit escape. Continue until the diagram is loaded.
Enterprise Architect and Visual Studio offer much better capabilities, having similar instructions.
Hope that is clear and helpful. Merry Christmas!
There is no inbuilt tool, but you can use some free ware, or even buy some of these if you really like them.

Good tool to visualise database schema?
My personal favorite is ER/Studio
Oracle Sql Developer is free and have Query builder which can display diagram. You can drag and drop tables from list of tables in schema.
You can connect Access to Oracle via ODBC. Then display the oracle tables in access.
