I'm currently working on revising the registration procedure of our recruitment ATS, made with AngularJS and Meteor, and I need to verify the new user's email during the registration procedure.
The logic would go as followed:
1- User fills in a form on the 'get-started' page and when clicking on 'sumbit', the ATS sends a verification email(I'll be using 'sendVerificationEmail' from Meteor)
2- After the user clicks on the link from the email, they'll get redirected to the 'register' page where additional information is required and the registration procedure is concluded.
As mentioned above, I'm planning to use 'sendVerificationEmail' to verify the user but I also want to use it to send back the userID.
From what I read on the Meteor API, I can pass extra data to the token with 'extraTokenData'
Accounts.sendVerificationEmail(userId, [email], [extraTokenData])
Now how do I declare the 'extraTokenData' object?
Could I do it like this: Accounts.sendVerificationEmail(userId, "", { _id: userId })
And how do I retrieve the 'userId' with 'Accounts.onEmailVerificationLink'?
your help will be greatly appreciated.
The email and the extra tokens are optionals, but if you want to send them send it as a string.
If you want to send the extra token but no emails you can try using Accounts.sendVerificationEmail(userId, undefined, "extra token") or if it doesn't work you can request the user's deatil user Meteor.user(). then call user.emails[0].address.
To retrieve information you have to get user by token and all data are there on user document under services.password.reset field. Look here how Accounts.generateResetToken is implemented https://github.com/meteor/meteor/blob/1e7e56eec8414093cd0c1c70750b894069fc972a/packages/accounts-password/password_server.js#L609.

When I use graph API withinh POSTMAN in order to add a guest user to a group I process as follow :
Add the /invitations endpoint to add my user ( I do not use email invitation)
Then I can see from my AD users that it has been added properly
Next I user the /groups/{Group ID}/members/$ref to add the created users in step 1
Then I can see from my AD that users has been added to group right a way
Then this exact steps, I add it in a script that is executed at a dedicated time as follow: 1. use the /invitations endpoint to add my user and Send an invitation by email 2. The return userID by first call is then used to add right away the user to the group by using the /groups/{Group ID}/members/$ref endpoint with body set as
{ "#odata.id": "https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/directoryObjects/{userID}" }
Then response to add user to group is successfull
Then what is strange is that when I check in my AD , I can see the user which has been created BUT I do not see that user as a member of the group it has been added. It is not displayed while no error was return during the API call
Does it means it takes some time to get it visible ? Does it means that user need to validate the invitation before it is added to the group ?
Thanks for your help

That was my mistake,
I get a scrip flag error which prevent the api to complete
I'm building a login component in my react-app using react-facebook-login, but I can't get the user's email (or the birthday... or the gender...)
I'm implementing it like this:
<FacebookLogin
appId="<<APP_ID>>"
autoLoad={this.state.facebookLoad}
fields="first_name, last_name, email, picture, birthday"
scope="public_profile, email, user_birthday"
returnScopes={true}
callback={this.facebookResponse}
onFailure={() => this.fbhandleFailure()}/>
I'm being specific with which fields I need, and also with the scope... But for some reason I think the scope is being ignored. I checked with https://developers.facebook.com/tools/explorer/ and it shows me two debug messages:

Can anyone help me?
Thank you very much.
use this link(https://developers.facebook.com/tools/explorer/) and Get Token -> Get user access token -> check whatever you need under 'User Data Permissions' eg 'email'
I'm working with IBM Watson API's a few months ago.
I want to know more about Regex inside the Conversation Service. And how to get the login from the user, if they type some like:
My login is sayuri.mizuguchi!
My login? ooh, is sayuri.mizuguchi
The default is always firstname.lastname.
I want use input.text.find to get the login, and with one context variable I'll save the login, like:
{
"context": {
"loginUser": <? input.text ?>
},
Simon did the same but with other data, 11 numbers and works amazingly.
In this case I'll use just input.text because my input.text.find inside the node with IF condition will extract my data.
I find this solution with regex, #revo help with one example.
Try this inside the if condition:
input.text.find('\w+\.\w')
And only if user types login, the conversation will flow.
I want to create the contact & user related to account by importing csv file.After creating user, generated username & password should be send to the respective user's email address.
I am planning to use Vf page for accepting the csv file & the Contact & User API for adding contacts & Users. But I am not sure regarding the email notification to user through API.
So can anyone please provide me the best solution for this?
You'll need to use Database.insert() flavor instead of straightforward insert users;
Check out the DML options help topic, especially the "emailHeader" property
Something like this should do the trick:
List<User> users = new List<User>(); // fill in with data from your CSV
Database.DMLOptions dlo = new Database.DMLOptions();
dlo.EmailHeader.triggerUserEmail = true;
database.insert(users, dlo);
Be aware though that you can't insert an inactive user. You can deactivate them straight after the insert but then they can't login so you'll probably want to suppress the sending of email, not enforce it. Make sure you have sufficient amount of licenses before you start!
Last but not least - you can cheat by setting the same password for them with System.setPassword('user id', 'new password') :) It's not recommended to expose this functionality to your end users though, can process only 1 user at a time and wastes 1 DML statement...
I am developing a site in Visualforce and would like to offer user a simple form to send me feedback via email. There would be 3-4 fields like name, user's email, reason and feedback and "send" button. Clicking the send button should automatically send that message to my email address.
I do not want to store the form data in salesforce at least for now...All the stuff I found online about visualforce/apex and email is about saving that data to salesforce too.
Can I just make use of apex's email capabilities and send out email without storing that data anywhere in salesforce?
Thanks,
Calvin
It's not required to insert/update/delete any records in the database when executing an action on a VisualForce page. You can leverage the Outbound Email functionality to send out your notification. For something like this, you will probably want to familiarize yourself with the SingleEmailMessage methods.
A simple example to get you going:
public PageReference actionSend() {
String[] recipients = new String[]{'myemailaddress#somedomain.com'};
Messaging.reserveSingleEmailCapacity(recipients.size());
Messaging.SingleEmailMessage msg = new Messaging.SingleEmailMessage();
msg.setToAddresses(recipients);
msg.setSubject('Test Email Subject');
msg.setHtmlBody('Test body including HTML markup');
msg.setPlainTextBody('Test body excluding HTML markup');
msg.setSaveAsActivity(false);
msg.setUseSignature(false);
Messaging.sendEmail(new Messaging.SingleEmailMessage[] {msg}, false);
return null;
}
If you are interested in sending these outbound messages from a dedicated email address (something like noreply#somecompany.com), you can set these up through the Setup -> Administration Setup -> Email Administration -> Organization-Wide Addresses menu. Once you have created an org-wide address, grab the Id from the URL and use the setOrgWideEmailAddressId(Id) method on your instance of Messaging.SingleEmailMessage.
