Robot Framework IDE Automate WPF - wpf

I'm trying to automate an application I developed in C# (WPF) using Robot Framework.
I already explored a bunch of alternatives:
White Library
https://github.com/Omenia/robotframework-whitelibrary
https://github.com/TestStack/White
Doesn't seem to be working.
AutoItLibrary:
https://pypi.org/project/robotframework-autoitlibrary/
https://github.com/HW71/AutoItLibrary
https://github.com/qitaos/robotframework-autoitlibrary
Doesn't work for WPF C# applications - Doesn't detect components
Sikuli
https://github.com/rainmanwy/robotframework-SikuliLibrary
http://rainmanwy.github.io/robotframework-SikuliLibrary/
Image detection doesn't work very well in WPF C# applications.
Has anyone been able to automate WPF C# applications using Robot Framework IDE?
Regards

We just released first stable version of WhiteLibrary. It should do the job.
https://github.com/Omenia/robotframework-whitelibrary
pip install --upgrade robotframework-whitelibrary

Unfortunately, WhiteLibrary is build on the White automation framework which has been deprecated since December 11, 2019. While WhiteLibrary itself is not officially deprecated, the last release is also from 2019.
There appears to be a newer framework called FlaUI, which is wrapped by RobotFramework-FlaUI. This project is still under active development currently and likely a more future-proof choice than WhiteLibrary.

How to install and use Lottie/JSON animation code for WPF

This is my first time programming for windows platforms and I'm trying to do a UI/UX fluent and modern app. So, I've heard that the best over-platform way to do it is with vector animation and therefor with bodymotion and lottie, because the good design, soft movement and I could get the animations from a professional designer.
The problem is that I tried to install multiple times the nuget package for lottie animations in my WPF project as I read in the official web: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-au/windows/communitytoolkit/animations/lottie-scenarios/getting_started_json and I only obtained errors related to the framework version:
Could not install package 'Microsoft.Toolkit.Uwp.UI.Lottie'. You are trying to install this package into a project that targets '.NETFramework,Version=v4.8', but the package does not contain any assembly references or content files that are compatible with that framework. For more information, contact the package author.
Initially I thought that the problem was the .NET framework so I migrate the project to .NET Core. And then I've tried again and got:
Package Microsoft.Toolkit.Uwp.UI.Lottie 7.0.0-preview4 is not compatible with netcoreapp3.1 (.NETCoreApp,Version=v3.1). Package Microsoft.Toolkit.Uwp.UI.Lottie 7.0.0-preview4 supports: uap10.0.16299 (UAP,Version=v10.0.16299)
Microsoft.UI.Xaml nuget package requires TargetPlatformMinVersion >= 10.0.15063.0 (current project is -1)
Investigating I understood that the packages were created for UWP and not for WPF. Consequently I investigate about XAML Islands, that brings UWP functions to WPF, but they only work with xaml map, I could't use to install nuget packages.
I don't find more information and don't know what I'm doing wrong.
I wonder:
What alternatives I have to add some soft and good looking animated buttons? Preferably with a complete documentation
There is a way to use lottie in WPF? Or it is unnecessarily complicate?
Which is the traditional way to animate and work with natively in WP?

Selecting correct .Net Framework for basic WPF - NUGET package can't install

I have created my first WPF project and it is written in .NET framework 4.7.2
I have NO idea about the importance and functionality of this however I want to be able to install it in a few businesses with as little chance of them needing to install a new framework. Perhaps that isn't important and I should just include it in the installer, but that is what I am not sure of.
I tried rolling back to 4.5 .NET however now one of my packages will not install on that framework.
Install-Package : Could not install package 'FluentEmail.Mailgun 2.8.0'. You are trying to install this package into a project that targets '.NETFramework,Version=v4.6', but the package does
not contain any assembly references or content files that are compatible with that framework. For more information, contact the package author.
If I do any framework lower than 4.7.2 I can't see to run this, however I can't find documentation referring to this needing a specific framework to run.
Any pointers in the right direction would be helpful,
eg. Is the framework important for a basic WPF app not using any crazy tech, just a few API's and mainly data storage?
Can I force this package to install on an earlier based framework or is that going to fail?
The FluentEmail.Mailgun package targets .NET Standard 2.0 which you can see by expanding the Dependencies section at NuGet.org.
.NET Standard 2.0 is implemented by .NET Framework 4.6.1 and later which you read from the compatibility matrix in the docs.
This basically means that you need to target at least 4.6.1 to be able to consume the package in your app.
There is a caveat though:
While NuGet considers .NET Framework 4.6.1 as supporting .NET Standard 1.5 through 2.0, there are several issues with consuming .NET Standard libraries that were built for those versions from .NET Framework 4.6.1 projects. For .NET Framework projects that need to use such libraries, we recommend that you upgrade the project to target .NET Framework 4.7.2 or higher.
So if you are developing a new app, you are recommended to either target .NET Framework 4.7.2 or later or even better .NET Core 3.1 or .NET 5.
If you want the full story of which versions that are officially supported on which operating systems, you should refer to the lifecycle FAQ in the docs.
Targeting 4.5 doesn't make much sense since the support for it ended back in January 2016.

about ef core winforms net framework support problem

I want to develop a general project, the desktop application must be .Net Framework and I will use EF Core 5.0 in the background and the libraries must be .net standard so that they are compatible with xamarin and Asp.net Core. Everything is fine, but the net framework does not support 2.1. How do I overcome this problem?.
NET 5.0 desktop toolbox has problems. I am someone who uses Devexpress and it does not come out in vehicles. I asked Devexpress and they said they have microsoft-side problems. I didn't know what to do. Syncfusion components do not look the same, unfortunately :(
You have to develop Winforms application using .NET 5. It is replacement of .NET Framework which become deprecated.

Which Silverlight Version Recommended for new development ASP.NET + GIS?

I just started a new job where I need to do a new development in Silverlight technology. The existing application is an ASP.NET and GIS application.
What version of Silverlight is recommended to use?
I don't have any experience using Silverlight, please suggest me a good place to start -- Tutorials / Blogs/ resources...
If you are using ArcGIS, then you should use Silverlight 4. The current version of the Esri Silverlight SDK is version 2.4. It is built on top of Silverlight 4. If you are using ArcGIS 10.1, then you can use version 3.0. The current version (beta) of 3.0 is also built on Silverlight 4, but they were talking about building it on Silverlight 5.
Silverlight 5 would be the best bet. You can get lots of tutorials over at http://silverlight.net.
This, this and this are very good and knowledegeable for starters.
This shows many samples of the silverlight controls with source codes.
This shows different practical uses of silverlight with source codes!
If you come across any other queries while development, you can post a question and get suggestions here, on StackOverflow very easily.! :)

Installing Silverlight 4 Toolkit without Visual studio 2010 (for build server)

I have just been informed that the Silverlight 4 Toolkit (latest download) requires the prior installation of VS 2010.
We are setting up an automated build server for a very large Silverlight Prism project and would prefer not to do a full install of VS 2010 on an unmanned build machine.
Is VS 2010 actually required for an install of the Silverlight 4 Toolkit?
Why is it required?
Is it possible to work around this (copy specific pieces from another Dev machine?)
Thanks in advance for any information.
The problem with this is that it doesn't install the msbuild tasks. I have found that it is possible to install just the SDK by extracting it from the tools download. For details see here: http://neilsleightholm.blogspot.com/2010/09/building-silverlight-4-applications.html.
Don't install the Toolkit at all. In these large controlled scenarios you would probably want to copy the toolkit dlls to folder owned by your change control system anyway.
Ultimately the toolkit is just a set of dlls. On install it does other things to make using it as a developer convenient in VS and Blend but it has no special requirements at build time.
