I have a working form select like this in angularjs.
<select ng-model="selectedProduct"
ng-options="product as product.text for product in products">
</select>
I want to change this to radio buttons, since there are only two options in products. The UI will improve from it. The output from above are select options with value=0 and value=1.
I tried this:
<div ng-repeat="product in products">
<input id="{{product.productId}}" type="radio"
name="BlahBlah" ng-value="{{$index}}" ng-model="selectedProduct" required />
<label for="{{product.productId}}">
{{product.text}}
</label>
</div>
The $index renders value=0 and value=1 for the radio buttons, just like the select options. But it doesn't work. The data is not picked up and passed along by the controller. I would prefer not to rewrite things in the controller, if possible.
I thought this would be super-easy :-/
How can I move forward here?
Your select's ng-model is a product object, not 0 or 1. The equivalent would just be
<input type="radio" name="BlahBlah" ng-value="product" ng-model="selectedProduct" />

I create a list of radio button selections, but the problem is that when clicked, they both remain selected, thus not working as a radio button group at all.
I have the same ng-model (a string; 'model') and ng-change for all of them, but the id is different.
<div class="radio-button"
ng-show="vm.forAdmins"
ng-repeat="role in vm.adminRoleDefinitions">
<input id="{{role.name}}" type="radio"
ng-model="role.model"
ng-change="vm.stateChanged(role.name, role.active)" >
{{role.name}}
</div>
Been wrestling with this for a while now, can't see what I've missed.
Radio button will work as a group if you assign name property to those radio buttons. I was also facing this issue then I realized my mistake.
<div class="radio-button" ng-show="vm.forAdmins" ng-repeat="role in vm.adminRoleDefinitions">
<input id="{{role.name}}" type="radio"
ng-model="role.model"
ng-change="vm.stateChanged(role.name, role.active)"
name="roles" >
{{role.name}}
</div>
Try assigning a name attribute to your radio button. name groups the radio button. For example :
<input type="radio" name="someRadio" id="radioOne" />
<input type="radio" name="someRadio" id="radioTwo" />
Now only one is selected at a time.
I have seen few answers which were working for ng-repeat, but with ng-options I am facing issue.
Problem : Want to show the error message required if the dropdown is touched and nothing is selected, I am able to do this with input fields.
JS CODE
$scope.personMap = [{ name:"Abc", id:"a"},
{ name:"XYZ", id:"b"},
{ name:"FGH", id:"c"},
{ name:"TY", id:"d"}
}]
HTML
<select name="inpName" ng-model="person.name" ng-options="i as i.name for i in personMap track by i.id" required>
<option value="" selected hidden/> </select>
<div ng-messages="form.inpName.$error" ng-if="form.inpName.$touched">
<div ng-message="required">Required field</div>
</div>
</div>
Referred this ng-repeat solution
As there is no answer yet, I am posting the issue i found out.
So when i use ng-options it starts adding one extra row in the dropdown which can be blank or you can give something like select me.
I added the below code to fix that and in chrome it does not show any blank row.
<option value="" selected hidden/> </select>
But when i try in IE it still have a blank row, So what happens is when I select one value in dropdown and then click back on the blank row the ngMessage works fine.So if i add one more blank option in chrome and then try to select something first and then click on blank the ngMessage work as expected.
Issue is
I was expecting <select> to work like the input fields and was trying to use the$touched` state. But it does not work like that, I was thinking as soon as i click on the dropdown ngMessage should get active if i leave the focus to other field without selecting anything from dropdown. Not sure if I can make it possible through any other way.
Updated HTML
<select name="inpName" ng-model="person.name" ng-options="i as i.name for i in personMap track by i.id" required>
<option value="">Select one </option> </select>
<div ng-messages="form.inpName.$error" ng-if="form.inpName.$touched">
<div ng-message="required">Required field</div>
</div>
</div>
I want to create a a 3 radio button groups each having its own unique model using one ng-repeat. How can I achieve this?
<div class="radio" data-ng-repeat="item in selItem.items" >
<label class="control-label">
<input type="radio"
data-ng-value={{item.vm}}
data-ng-model="????"
name="{{selItem.Title}}"/>{{item.dm}}
</label>
</div>
First and foremost, why would you do that? Radio buttons are for a unique selection among a group of options, so having the same model for all radio buttons is the way to go.
However, for setting unique ng-models for each item iteration inside ng-repeat, you have to use object bracket notation, using $index or a property of each iteration itself to name the property of the object model.
<div ng-repeat="item in items">
<input type="text" ng-model="myModel[item.name]" >
</div>
check this fiddle to see it working
I have an array of objects that I bind to the scope. My view then accesses the objects via ng-options like this:
<div class="tile block box-shadow">
<form role="form">
<div class="form-group">
<label>Reason for change</label>
<select class="form-control" ng-options="item.value as item.description for item in controller.priceChangeReasons" />
</div>
</form>
</div>
but the dropdown has nothing when you select it.
I have logged the priceChangeReasons and can see that the array is working and returning values.
I have made a codepen to show the issue:
http://codepen.io/r3plica/pen/XbQzMa?editors=101
I realise this is probably a syntax error on my part, but I can't see it.
Can someone help?
ngOptions directive requires ngModel, just add:
<select class="form-control" ng-options="item.value as item.description for item in controller.priceChangeReasons" ng-model="controller.reason" />
and all should work
I'm using ng-repeat to generate a bunch of radiobuttons.
<div class="radiobutton" ng-repeat="mylabel in field.labels">
<input
type="radio"
name="{{field['key']}}"
value="{{mylabel.label}}"
id="{{mylabel.name}}"
>
<label for="{{field['key']}}">
{{mylabel.label}}
</label>
</div>
I would like to add a class to the input-element based on if the input-element is checked or not, using angluar. As far as I can understand I should apply a ng-model to the element and then use that to declare a ng-class, but how do I make it so that each input get's it's own model-name?
try:
<div class="radiobutton" ng-repeat="mylabel in field.labels">
<input
type="radio"
name="{{field['key']}}"
value="{{mylabel.label}}"
id="{{mylabel.name}}"
ng-model='$parent.my_radio_button'
ng-class='{ class_name: (my_radio_button == mylabel.label) }'
>
<label for="{{field['key']}}">
{{mylabel.label}}
</label>
</div>
Since you use radio buttons, I guess only one can be selected, so you can share the same ng model.
