After installing 2sic and dragging a 2sic app in a page we get an error when we refresh: "the value cannot be null".
Included are the screenshot and stacktrace.

Since this is a fairly old version of 2sxc it could simply be a bug. You should at least upgrade to 8.12 and test again.

please help to solve this issue . how to install the older version of microsoft.owin .
One solution is to downgrade your version of Microsoft.Owin.
Right-click your project in Visual Studio.
Choose "Manage Nuget Packages...".
Under Installed, choose "Microsoft.Owin".
In the "Version" dropdown, choose 2.1.0
Click "Update".
I'm trying to resolve an issue we have specific to using REDIS cache on our web apps but need help understanding the stacktrace.
We intermittently get Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation logged in our error table when users are viewing the report viewer, but there are no signs client side that anything has gone wrong.
I've had a read through this article: How to solve: "exception was thrown by the target of invocation" C# however it doesn't seem to cover our specific issue.
The stacktrace logged by our logger;

Looks to be an issue during Deserialization. Could the class definition have changed between when it was serialized and when it is being deserialized?
I have a clean project, which i am trying to get started. I have also created a clean database.
Both are running locally on my pc.
I can connect to my database with linqpad, with no issues.
But when i try to "customize" and set a microsoft SQL server, it says
Could not connect to database
And in console, i get a 500 internal server error, on :
:62164/install/api/PostValidateDatabaseConnection
What can i do ?
Edit
when trying to use a custom connection string, i get this :

If, even with a custom connection string, you still get a 500 error I think that you have a botched installation and you should try to reinstall Umbraco from scratch
After completing an upgrade to DNN 7.4 I get the error outlined below. Everything went smoothly and there were no errors in the install log. This happens on any page, and there are no new dependencies on Visual Studio I presume...

Any ideas what I'm missing or what might be happening?
So this issue ended up being a custom DLL found in the BIN folder of the DNN website that Ryan was upgrading.
My non-scientific approach to resolving this was to:
Remove DLLS in bulk in the BIN folder (keep a copy of the DLLs as you aren't sure which one is the problem, put them back after testing)
Load the site (using admin/site settings page)
See if page still errored, if so, repeat steps 1 and 2
Ends up the DLL that was causing the problem was I believe a webservice/api URL for testing. Removing that corrected the issue on the 7.3.4 instance of DNN that they were using.
I have a few Silverlight applications in my website. Each are on their own page and do not interact with each other. I'm using Silverlight 5 and WCF Data Services for data access.
IE has been working great, but when I switch between the two while the first one is in the middle of getting data from the WCF Data Service (or we also have a .aspx page that is serving up xml in the code behind and it happens there as well).
It's throwing some seemingly random exceptions and I'm not sure how to handle them. Any ideas on how to avoid these, or cancel calls when the url changes in FF?
Chrome reports my WCF Data Service webget request as canceled and undefined.
