(function() {
var app = angular.module('app', []);
app.controller ('MainCtrl', function ($scope){
var vm = this;
vm.title = "Email Validation";
vm.email = "";
vm.email_regex = '^[_a-z0-9]+(\.[_a-z0-9]+)*#[a-z0-9-]+(\.[a-z0-9-]+)*(\.[a-z]{2,4})$';
});
})();
<html ng-app="app">
<head>
<link data-require="bootstrap#3.3.7" data-semver="3.3.7" rel="stylesheet" href="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/3.3.7/css/bootstrap.min.css" />
<script data-require="jquery#3.1.1" data-semver="3.1.1" src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.1.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script data-require="bootstrap#3.3.7" data-semver="3.3.7" src="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/3.3.7/js/bootstrap.min.js"></script>
<script data-require="angular.js#*" data-semver="1.5.8" src="https://code.angularjs.org/1.5.8/angular.js"></script>
</head>
<body ng-controller="MainCtrl as vm">
<h2>{{vm.title}}</h2>
<div class="col-md-12">
<form name="emailForm" novalidate="">
<div class="form-group" ng-class="{'has-error': emailForm.username.$touched && emailForm.username.$invalid }">
<label>Email</label>
<input type="email" class="col-md-12 form-control" name="username" ng-model="vm.email" ng-pattern="vm.email_regex" required />
</div>
<div ng-if="emailForm.username.$touched && emailForm.username.$invalid" ng-messages="emailForm.username.$error" class="text-danger">
<span ng-message="pattern">Invalid Username.</span>
<span ng-message="required">Please enter Username.</span>
</div>
</form>
</div>
<div class="row"></div>
<hr />
<pre>{{ emailform.username.$error | json }}</pre>
</body>
</html>

You need to remove ' '
from vm.email_regex

Refer this: Why is Angularjs ng-pattern not working with the following regexp?
(function() {
var app = angular.module('app', []);
app.controller ('MainCtrl', function ($scope){
var vm = this;
vm.title = "Email Validation";
vm.email = "";
vm.email_regex = /^[_a-z0-9]+(\.[_a-z0-9]+)*#[a-z0-9-]+(\.[a-z0-9-]+)*(\.[a-z]{2,4})$/;
});
})();

html lang="en">

<meta charset="UTF-8">

</div>
<script src="./js/angular.js"></script>
<script>
var app = angular.module('myApp', []);
app.controller('ShowController', function($scope) {
$scope.visible=true;
$scope.showParagraph = function() {
$scope.visible=false;
};
});
</script>
</body>
</html>
I tried to solve by many possibilites but couldn't get on the error. Thanks in Advance.

angularjs fetch value from textbox after clicking a button only

This is my code
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/angularjs/1.6.1/angular.min.js"></script>
<script>
var myApp = angular.module('myApp', []);
myApp.controller('myController', function ($scope) {
$scope.getName = function () {
$scope.name = fname;
$scope.lastName = lastName;
};
})
</script>
</head>
<body ng-app="myApp" >

<input type="button" value="click" ng-click="getName()" />
<br>
Hello FirstName {{name}}<br>
Last Name {{lastName}}
</div>
</body>
</html>
values are coming while typing into textbox but i want values only after clicking the button.Please help me.
I tried in both ways simple as well as by using service or factory method but no success
You must separate the ng-models of the input texts and destination field. They are updating real-time because of having the same models.
I have created the correct version for you:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/angularjs/1.6.1/angular.min.js"></script>
<script>
var myApp = angular.module('myApp', []);
myApp.controller('myController', function ($scope) {
$scope.getName = function () {
$scope.nameToSet = $scope.name;
$scope.lastNameToSet = $scope.lastName;
};
})
</script>
</head>
<body ng-app="myApp" >
<div >
<input type="text" ng-model="name"/> <br>
<input type="text" ng-model="lastName" />
</div>
<div ng-controller="myController">
<input type="button" value="click" ng-click="getName()" />
<br>
Hello FirstName {{nameToSet}}<br>
Last Name {{lastNameToSet}}
</div>
</body>
</html>
UPDATE: Here is another version with using a factory:
var myApp = angular.module('myApp', []);
myApp.factory('container', function() {
var model = {
name: '',
lastName: ''
};
return {
model: model,
setName: function(nameToSet) {
model.name = nameToSet;
},
setLastName: function(lastNameToSet) {
model.lastName = lastNameToSet;
}
};
});
myApp.controller('myController', function ($scope, container) {
$scope.$watch('name', function(newvalue,oldvalue) {
container.setName(newvalue);
});
$scope.$watch('lastName', function(newvalue,oldvalue) {
container.setLastName(newvalue);
});
$scope.onNameType = function(value) {
container.setName(value);
};
$scope.onLastNameType = function(value) {
container.setLastName(value);
};
$scope.getName = function () {
debugger;
$scope.nameToSet = container.model.name;
$scope.lastNameToSet = container.model.lastName;
};
})
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/angularjs/1.6.1/angular.min.js"></script>
</head>
<body ng-app="myApp" >
<div >
<input type="text" ng-model="name" ng-change="onNameType(name)"/> <br>
<input type="text" ng-model="lastName" ng-change="onLastNameType(lastName)" />
</div>
<div ng-controller="myController">
<input type="button" value="click" ng-click="getName()" />
<br>
Hello FirstName {{nameToSet}}<br>
Last Name {{lastNameToSet}}
</div>
</body>
</html>

The controller doesn't work when I use 'ng-app'

Here is a snippet:
<!document html>
<html ng-app>
<head>
<title>First</title>
<script src="D:\Coding\angular.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
</head>
<body>
<div ng-controller="FirstController">
<input id="Text1" type="text" ng-model="user.name" />
<div>{{user.name}}</div>
</div>
<script>
function FirstController($scope){
$scope.user = {name: ""};
};
</script>
</body>
</html>
Open the .html file with Chrome, the '{{user.name}}' shows on the screen. I think the {{}} position should be the same with the textbox content, what's wrong?
You need to use like this :
<ng-app="Your Module Name ">
In controller write
var app=angular.module("your module name (can be anything)",[]).controller("myCtrl", function("your dependencies "){});
Hope it will work
In the ng-app attribute you need to add app name like as ng-app="myApp"
<div ng-app="myApp" ng-controller="myCtrl">
First Name: <input type="text" ng-model="firstName"><br>
Last Name: <input type="text" ng-model="lastName"><br>
<br>
Full Name: {{firstName + " " + lastName}}
</div>
<script>
var app = angular.module('myApp', []);
app.controller('myCtrl', function($scope) {
$scope.firstName = "John";
$scope.lastName = "Doe";
});
</script>
If you are using angular version below 1.3 it should work
DEMO
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html ng-app>
<head>
<script src="https://code.angularjs.org/1.2.3/angular.js"></script>
</head>
<body>
<div ng-controller="FirstController">
<input id="Text1" type="text" ng-model="user.name" />
<div>{{user.name}}</div>
</div>
<script>
function FirstController($scope){
$scope.user = {name: "test"};
};
</script>
</body>
</html>
You need to add like this
ng-app="yourappname"
Refer ng-app directive in documentation

How to clear up textarea ng-model

I've got
<div class="navbar-collapse">
<div class="row">
<div class="col-lg-2 img-fake"></div>
<div class="col-lg-10 native-item ">
<textarea class="form-control" rows="5" id="comment" ng-model="newComment" ng-keyup="$event.keyCode == 13 && comment(existingItem,newComment)"></textarea>
</div>
</div>
</div>
and in the comment function i've got
$scope.comment = function(existingItem,newComment){
existingItem.comments.push(newComment);
$scope.newComment = '';
} // just adding text from textarea to the list
so i'm wondering why the value of textarea does not go to empty value
http://plnkr.co/edit/kmBA3Cco8QNDL8i4eOjz its working.
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8" />
<title>AngularJS Plunker</title>
<script>document.write('<base href="' + document.location + '" />');</script>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" />
<script data-require="angular.js#1.5.x" src="https://code.angularjs.org/1.5.8/angular.js" data-semver="1.5.8"></script>
<script src="app.js"></script>
</head>
<body ng-controller="MainCtrl">
<div class="navbar-collapse">
<div class="row">
<div class="col-lg-2 img-fake"></div>
<div class="col-lg-10 native-item ">
{{newComment}}
<textarea class="form-control" rows="5" id="comment" ng-model="newComment" ng-keyup="$event.keyCode == 13 && comment(existingItem, newComment)"></textarea>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</body>
</html>
In youe case it is not working because, you may not define comment property of existingItem
var app = angular.module('plunker', []);
app.controller('MainCtrl', function($scope) {
$scope.newComment = 'asdf';
$scope.existingItem = {};
$scope.existingItem.comments = [];
$scope.comment = function(existingItem, newComment){
existingItem.comments.push(newComment);
console.log(existingItem.comments);
$scope.newComment = '';
}
});
i had same issue and fixed like this
$scope.comment = function(existingItem,newComment){
existingItem.comments.push(newComment);
$scope.newComment = 'xx'; // add a random data
$scope.$evalAsync(function() { $scope.newComment = '' ; }); //or use $timeout(function() { $scope.newComment = '' ; });
}

Angular Js Basic Controller Return Error

Angular Controller return error when called through an app. But works when written directly.
My html code
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html ng-app>
<head>
<script src="//ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/angularjs/1.2.15/angular.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="app.js"></script>
</head>
<body ng-app="fbapp">
<div ng-controller="fbController" class="container">
<input type="text" name="name" ng-model="name"/>
<input type="button" value="Fetch" ng-click="fetchUser()" class="btn btn-primary"/>
</form>
</div>
</body>
</html>
My js code
var fbapp = angular.module('fbapp', []);
fbapp.controller('fbController', function($scope){
$scope.fetchUser = function() {
$scope.name = "Test";
}
}
Error I get

It work for me if I don't declare container in a an app. Like...
function fbController ($scope){
$scope.fetchUser = function() {
$scope.name = "Test";
}
}
I am having no clue whats wrong.
as Stewie said you need to add closing parenthesis ' )'.
Example:
var app=angular.module('App', []);
app.controller('fbController', function($scope){
$scope.fetchUser = function() {
$scope.name = "Test";
}
})
html:
<div ng-app="App" >
<div ng-controller="fbController">
<button ng-click="fetchUser()">click</button>
<p >{{name}}</p>
</div>
</div>
