Run Errors with Eclipse C/C++ IDE

I just installed gcc and Eclipse C/C++ IDE but I'm having trouble using it.
I keep getting these errors. Anyone got ideas on how to fix this?
Your project seems to be one for making a windows application.
The code in your project does not match that, it is the simple code for a console application.
Create a new project, choose "Console Application" and use the same code.
Then you should be able to successfully build your program before you execute it (credits to Some programmer dude, for spotting the "build failed is not run time error").

Eclipse: Cant finish creating new C Project

Hello dear Eclipse developer,
I am already pretty desperate about figuring out the following problem, and maybe you can be part of the solution.
So heres the Context:
I want to develop an application for a Nucleo STM32F401RE Microprocessor Developmentboard.
To do so i need to set up the Eclipse Oxygen 3 IDE for my Windows XP x86 OS as descriped in this guide:
https://www.carminenoviello.com/2014/12/28/setting-gcceclipse-toolchain-stm32nucleo-part-1/
In short:
Install Eclipse Oxygen 3
Install C/C++ Development Tools
Install the GNU ARM plug-ins for Eclipse
Install the GCC ARM tool-chain
Install the Build Tools
Install the ST Link drivers for STM32Nucleo board
Every Step worked as expected and as descriped in the guide so far.
The next step is creating a test project, so I followed the project creation wizard for c/c++ projects in eclipse, which worked fine as well until i reached the very last step of the project creation wizard.
The last step wants me to select the path to the used Cross GNU ARM Toolchain which has already been installed in previous steps of the guide.
So i filled up the form fields, but the "Finish" and the "Next" Button stays greyed out! The "Back" Button is not working as well, so i literally cant do anything in this dialog field anymore, but cancel the project creating.
Someone went through this before and has an idea what the problem is and how to fix it?
Is it a bugg in eclipse?
Did i do something wrong ?
I've taken an Image to show what the problem is:
Thanks for your attention, dear developer. Good answers will make me a fan of yours.
UPDATE
Starting Eclipse with the errorlog console brought the following error when starting the project creation Wizard:
Managed Build system manifest file error: Duplicate identifier ilg.gnuarmeclipse.managedBuild.cross.toolchain.lib.release for element type ToolChain
This is the first time i get in touch with eclipse.
Can someone explain what this means and how to get rid of it?
I'm using Eclipse Photon and tried the installation through marketplace and manual installation of versions 4.4.1 and 4.3.3 but I'm still experiencing the same issue than you.
The solution was to uninstall Eclipse Photon and install Eclipse Oxygen 3a. Now the project creation works properly.
Regards.
I had the same experience for my first eclipse project. After checking the installation of plugins in the Eclipse IDE, I found there are two versions of GNU MCU C/C++ (...) installed. The problem solved by uninstalling one of them. Hopes that could help someone later. I spend the whole day to solve the problem! lol
Uninstalling GNU MCU does the trick and soled the issue.

mantaining compatibility between CLion and eclipse in C project

i have a question that google couldn't solve. thing is i am currently working in a project with around 15 other people. some of us use eclipse and some use clion. the problem is that clion uses a "CMakeLists.txt" file in which specifies all files to be compiled. Eclipse doesn't use this file, but the ones using clion complain that they have to manually add all .c files created in eclipse in that file in order to compile the project. is there a way to get around this? thanks

Eclipse for C/C++ closes as soon as I open

I have Eclipse for java on my laptop aswell as the most recent jdk and jre, all of this works fine. I have recently started C programming and downloaded the C version of eclipse. I then copied the file from downloads to my own directory. The problem is that when I try and open eclipse the splash screen shows up for half a second then disappears, eclipse then doesnt open. How can I fix this? I have found people with similar problems but none of their solutions work for me.
Note: I also have the C compiler: Fortran, C and C++ for Windows downloaded in the same directory as my eclipse folder if that matters.
Try a couple of things.
Uninstall and reinstall Eclipse.
Make sure you have the latest version of Java and JDK. Eclipse needs Java to run.
Sometimes, having multiple versions of java can also cause problems so uninstall unnecessary and old versions of java.
Also make sure that Java Home location is added to the environmental path variable.
One of these solutions should fix the problem. Hope this helps :)

build legacy C code in eclipse

I inherited a project written in C, running on Linux, with Cmake files written by the previous person. The previous person did not use IDE for this project, so I found it a bit hard to maintain this fairly large sized project, and I'm new to Cmake unfortunately :(.
I want to use eclipse (my OS is Linux) for this project to help me understand the project faster, and be able to build and debug it in Eclipse, so I do not have to run the build scripts manually every time. The project was in Mercurial, hence I check it out into my repository using Eclipse, then I have some options:
Open the project, and somehow make it into a C project which I can compile
Convert the code into makefile project, use Cross GCC toolchian, try to add all the pathes to 'include', then try to build (I'm on this path, but it seems Eclipse Juno needs me to find the path to include files myself, which is a lot to add manually T_T)
Create a new makefile project, import the code gradually as I go, I'm not super familiar with the code yet...
Some other ways...
Any suggestions please?
Also, in my case, which of the 3 options mentioned in http://www.vtk.org/Wiki/CMake:Eclipse_UNIX_Tutorial would be a good choice?
