How to import less files when HtmlWebpackPlugin is used - reactjs

Presently, I am using HtmlWebpackPlugin and hot reload for development to generate an html file that includes the javascript bundle.
This works fine with the following webpack configuration:
const HtmlWebpackPlugin = require('html-webpack-plugin');
const webpack = require('webpack');
const path = require('path')
const { NoErrorsPlugin, HotModuleReplacementPlugin } = webpack;
const { OccurrenceOrderPlugin } = webpack.optimize;
module.exports = {
entry : {
app: [
'webpack-hot-middleware/client',
'./src/index.tsx',
],
},
output: {
filename: "bundle.js",
path: path.join(__dirname, 'build'),
publicPath: '/static/'
},
devtool: "eval",
resolve: {
// Add '.ts' and '.tsx' as resolvable extensions.
extensions: ["", ".webpack.js", ".web.js", ".ts", ".tsx", ".js"]
},
module: {
loaders: [
// All files with a '.ts' or '.tsx' extension will be handled by 'awesome-typescript-loader'.
{ test: /\.tsx?$/, loaders: ['react-hot-loader', 'awesome-typescript-loader'] }
],
preLoaders: [
// All output '.js' files will have any sourcemaps re-processed by 'source-map-loader'.
{ test: /\.js$/, loader: "source-map-loader" }
]
},
plugins: [
new OccurrenceOrderPlugin(),
new HotModuleReplacementPlugin(),
new NoErrorsPlugin(),
new HtmlWebpackPlugin({
filename: 'index.html',
template: 'src/templates/index.ejs',
minify: false,
excludeChunks: ['static'],
}),
],
};
However, it does not include the blueprintjs stylesheet. How should I configure that? I tried less-loader but it did not import anything.

You can import your less file in ts file and use less-loader in webpack configuration

WEBPACK with React router gives 404 while serving the build

Recently i am learning webpack with react and i build a app that runs wells in Dev enviroment but when i build the app and tries to change the route it throws 404 error.
Here are my webpack Config.
webpack.common.js
const path = require("path");
const HTMLWebpackPlugin = require("html-webpack-plugin");
const CopyWebpackPlugin = require("copy-webpack-plugin");
module.exports = {
entry: path.resolve(__dirname, "..", "./src/index.tsx"),
resolve: {
extensions: [".tsx", ".ts", ".jsx", ".js"],
},
module: {

},
{
test:/\.(woff(2)?|eot|ttf|otf|svg)$/i,
type:'asset/inline'
}
],
},
output: {
path: path.resolve(__dirname, "..", "./build"),
filename: "bundle.js",
},
plugins: [
new HTMLWebpackPlugin({
template: path.resolve(__dirname, "..", "./public/index.html"),
filename:'index.html'
}),
// new CopyWebpackPlugin({
// patterns:[{from:"src",to:'dest'}]
// })
],
};
webpack.dev.js
const ReactRefreshWebpackPlugin = require('#pmmmwh/react-refresh-webpack-plugin');
const path=require('path')
module.exports={
mode:"development",
devServer:{
hot:true,
open:true,
historyApiFallback: { index: "/", disableDotRule: true },
port:3001
},
devtool:'cheap-module-source-map',
plugins:[
new ReactRefreshWebpackPlugin()
]
}
webpack.prod.js
module.exports={
mode:"production" ,
}
i changed lots of configuration like public path and other, but it didn't help.

React use css from imported files only

Hi guys I have an issue with my css in the react project
I have a component called header.jsx and the header.scss file is imported in it, so I want the css to be applied from header.scss only not from any other file (even though the className names are same).
There is a way to wrap around with a div and provide unique className,or use css-modules but can the same be done with webpack configuration ? I tried to change a bit but couldn't let it happen.
Below is my webpack config for the project
const path = require("path");
const HtmlWebpackPlugin = require("html-webpack-plugin");
const MiniCssExtractPlugin = require("mini-css-extract-plugin");
module.exports = {
mode: "development",
plugins: [
new HtmlWebpackPlugin({ template: "./public/index.html" }),
new MiniCssExtractPlugin(),
],
output: {
path: path.join(__dirname, "/dist"),
filename: "index.bundle.js",
},
resolve: {
extensions: [".js", ".jsx"],
},
devServer: {
static: path.resolve(__dirname, "dist"),
port: 9000,
},
module: {
rules: [
{
test: /\.(js|jsx)$/,
exclude: /nodeModules/,
resolve: {
extensions: [".js", ".jsx"],
},
use: {
loader: "babel-loader",
},
},
{
test: /\.s[ac]ss$/i,
use: [
MiniCssExtractPlugin.loader,
{
loader: "css-loader",
options: {
modules: true,
},
},
"sass-loader",
],
},
],
},
};

WebPack loading none existing budle.js files

When building my react application i get a error that webpack/bootstrap is trying to access {n}.budle.js files that dosn't exist in my dist folder. I only get this error when uploading to a server locally the code is not trying to access these files in dist folder.
Error

const path = require("path");
const webpack = require("webpack");
const HtmlWebpackPlugin = require("html-webpack-plugin");
const { CleanWebpackPlugin } = require("clean-webpack-plugin");
module.exports = {

index: "./src/index.tsx"
},
output: {

new webpack.HotModuleReplacementPlugin(),
new webpack.DefinePlugin({ log: (t) => console.log(t) }),

module: {

The entry point to the site is site.com/something/index.html is that a issue?

Webpack 2/React: cannot get style to work

I've been stuck here for hours now - can't include my style in development mode with webpack.config.js, and can't bundle my styles when I build my project with webpack.config.prod.js - or inject the style link into the generated index-template.html. Instead, no css file is generated - and the generated html file does not include style tag:
I've done this in other React/Webpack projects with no problems, where identical configuration results in both style tag and bundled css file:
I don't understand where I am going wrong .. this is my folder structure:
This is my webpack.config.js file:
const webpack = require('webpack');
const path = require('path');
const entry = [
'babel-polyfill',
'webpack-dev-server/client?http://127.0.0.1:8080', // Specify the local server port
'webpack/hot/only-dev-server', // Enable hot reloading
'./scripts/index.js' // Where webpack will be looking for entry index.js file
];
const output = {
path: path.join(__dirname, 'dist'), // This is used to specify folder for producion bundle
publicPath: '/dist',
filename: 'bundle.min.js' // Filename for production bundle
}
const plugins = [
new webpack.HotModuleReplacementPlugin(), // Hot reloading
new webpack.NoEmitOnErrorsPlugin(), // Webpack will let you know if there are any errors
// Declare global variables
new webpack.ProvidePlugin({
React: 'react',
ReactDOM: 'react-dom',

})
]
const config = {
context: path.join(__dirname, 'src'),
entry: entry,

I am so effing thankful for any input <3
As #margaretkru said, I had forgotten to import my app.scss in my index.js file!

Webpack doesn't correctly load my files

I'm totally new to webpack and I'm doing my first configuration for a new project.
I'm trying to load my jsx/scss file but I've this problem:
var path = require('path');
var webpack = require('webpack');
var autoprefixer = require('autoprefixer');
var node_modules_dir = path.resolve(__dirname, 'node_modules');
var ExtractTextPlugin = require("extract-text-webpack-plugin");
var HtmlWebpackPlugin = require('html-webpack-plugin');
var cssExtractTextPlugin = new ExtractTextPlugin("css", "index.css");
var staticPrefix = path.join(__dirname, 'src')
var distPath = path.join(__dirname, 'dist')
module.exports = {
devtool: 'eval',
//context: path.join(__dirname, staticPrefix),
entry: {
'app': ['webpack-hot-middleware/client', path.join(__dirname, 'src/app.jsx')],
'vendor': [
'bootstrap/js/dropdown',
'bootstrap/js/tab',
'bootstrap/js/tooltip',
'bootstrap/js/alert',
'jquery',
'react-router',
'react-bootstrap'
],
'myapp': path.join(__dirname, 'src/stylesheets/base.scss') //'stylesheets/base.scss'
},
output: {
path: distPath,
filename: '[name].js',
libraryTarget: 'var',
library: 'exports',
publicPath: '/static/'
},
plugins: [
new webpack.HotModuleReplacementPlugin(),
new webpack.NoErrorsPlugin(),
new webpack.optimize.CommonsChunkPlugin('vendor', 'vendor.js'),
new webpack.ProvidePlugin({
$: 'jquery',
jQuery: 'jquery',
'window.jQuery': 'jquery',
'root.jQuery': 'jquery'
}),
new ExtractTextPlugin('[name].css')
],
module: {
loaders: [
{
test: /\.js$/,
loader: ['babel'],
include: path.join(__dirname, staticPrefix),
exclude: /(vendor|node_modules)/
},
{
test: /\.jsx$/,
loader: ['babel'],
include: path.join(__dirname, staticPrefix),
exclude: /(vendor|node_modules)/
},
{
test: /\.scss$/,
include: path.join(__dirname, staticPrefix),
loader: ExtractTextPlugin.extract('style-loader', 'css-loader!sass-loader-loader')
},
{
test: /\.(woff|woff2|ttf|eot|svg|png|gif|ico|jpg)($|\?)/,
loader: 'file-loader?name=' + '[name].[ext]'
}
]
},
postcss: function() {
return [autoprefixer];
},
resolve: {
modulesDirectories: [path.join(__dirname, staticPrefix), 'node_modules'],
extensions: ['', '.jsx', '.js']
},
};
The problem is that when I run: node_modules/.bin/webpack --config=webpack.config.dev it give me 2 errors:
ERROR in ./src/app.jsx
Module parse failed: /Users/work/Desktop/myapp-client/src/app.jsx Line 1: Unexpected token

Where I'm doing wrong ?
With babel 6 you need to include the babel react preset to transpile your .jsx files. You also need to add the babel es2015 preset to transpile ES2015, i.e. ES6, syntax:
module: {
loaders: [
{
test: /\.jsx?$/,
exclude: /(node_modules)/,
loader: 'babel',
query: {
presets:[ 'react', 'es2015' ]
}
}
]
}
On a side note, if you tweak your regex in the test key, you don't need two loader entries (for the .js and .jsx files).
Make sure you install these presets separately:
npm i -D babel-preset-es2015 babel-preset-react
More info on the babel 6 changes can be found here
