azure sql connectivity from local sql server - sql-server

I am working with azure based application. In which, I need to get connected with azure sql server. I had already configured firewall setting on azure portal for my IP address. But still even when I tried to get connected to azure sql server, it never gets connect at the very first time. When I try to connect it more than two times then it gets connected.
This problem is also with application level connectivity, when i try to run the application on visual studio same happens.
I had researched a lot regarding this specific problem but didn't get any solution yet. I always get network related error Error Code : 53.
Any help will be appreciated.

This looks a lot like a local network issue.
When your application is deployed onto an Azure resource (App service, VM, etc.) does it get a similar connection error?
Every Azure SQL Server has a firewall, you need to create a client IP rule but also to allow access to the Azure service.

Application deployment failed when connecting with the database

I have just finished the development of my application on asp.net mvc connected with SQL server, and I will love to deploy it. I want to use Azure App service, but I got an error "Unable to connect to master or target server 'DATABASE_NAME'. You must have a user with the same password in master or target server 'DATABASE_NAME'". I have tried every thing I found online like modifying the SSDT, but nothing changed.
Please is there any recommendation to fix this issue? If not, Please what are other ways for me to launch the application. The application will be used internally for Sales purpose and I don't need any fancy hosting. Thank you in advance.
Did you setup the sql azure firewall to accept connections from your computer?
Even if you set it up once, it is possible that your internet provider attributed a different IP address to your computer. So you must redo your firewall set up again for your computer to be accepted.
It is important to know that only sql logins/passwords are accepted here. So you must give the login/password of the admin user that you mentioned at the moment of creation of you sql server azure (there is a step that sets it up when you create your azure database), or the login/password of a user you created and granted in this database.

Azure AWS Db Connection

I’m having a very specific issue with Azure and I couldn’t find any solution on the web.
So, we are little by little migrating our client’s infrastructure to Azure and we are starting with our Workers (webjobs).
These webjobs need to consume data present on a AWS SQL Server instance.
We already have checked that the App Service Plan’s Outbound IPs are whitelisted and that the SQL server is listening on TCP port 1433.
An evidence of that is the fact that we are able to communicate with the SQL Server instance through the Azure Debug Console:
But when we run the WebApp, the worker cannot find and connect to the same DB:
Does anyone have a clue of how I can solve this issue? It would be very appreciated!
Well, as you demonstrated by the first image, the SQL Server instance is configured correctly.
The worker Outbound IP address is definetely the same as the App Service Plan's machine.
Based on that, can you then please check if the Connection string you are setting have 'tcp:' before the IP Address?
Sometimes you need to force it, otherwise IIS can choose other ways to connect to your SQL server (like UDP for instance).

Access is denied connecting to SQL Azure database

I've deployed my project to Azure and my login page loads. When I attempt to login, it hangs for a moment and returns an "Access is denied" error. I've double and triple checked my connection string and it matches the one provided by Azure.
I've deployed to Azure in the past but it's been a while. Is there something I need to do in order to make my DB accessible? I read a couple articles about similar problems people had with remote connections. It involved turning on remote connection accessibility in SSMS, but I don't see that being the case in my situation as it's not being accessed thru Sql Server.
Are there modifications I must make to my DB to make it accessible on Azure?
Here's my error:
EDIT - I am using forms authentication for user handling if it makes a difference.
This error indicates that your Azure SQL Database is not configured to accept connections from the service you are trying to connect.
You have to Enable Windows Azure Services to connect to your Azure SQL Database Server.
To achieve that, navigate to your Azure SQL Database Dashboard and click on Manage Allowed IP Addresses, as shown bellow:
Then On this new page, make sure that Windows Azure Services are enabled (YES):
I had the same problem and found that I didn't have the database and the app service in the same location. One was in Australia East while the other was in Australia South East. I moved my app service to be in the same location as the DB and bingo. :)

silverlight business application login cannot connect to database

I'm at my wits end. I built a silverlight business application using the template and I tried and played around with the login functionality in the IIS express. Everything works perfect, but when I moved the application to the IIS server, the login suddenly giving me this error.
I have given the remote access to sql server,
I tried to give access even ceremoniously given IISAPPPOOLS\ account ownership access, yet I still have this problem.
Oh yeah, I have not give database restriction yet to the application, but the other data is showing up real well. except for the login information.
The issue appears to be a Network issue it unable to locate the server that is running SQL server i would check the connection string and include the fully qualified address of the server running SQL server

Unable to connect with the Windows desktop application using the Windows Sql Azure connection string?

we are using the window Azure first time and we have deplyed our SQL server databases on the window Sql Azure server. using the connection string from the SQL Azure server, we are able to successfully connect with the Web aapplication while at the same time when we are trying to connect with the Desktop application it always throw "General Network Error"?
In order to resolve the issue we have check the firewall and all seems to be fine.
Any help highly appreciated.

May I ask where your web application is running? It seems it is running in Windows Azure and connected to SQL Azure without any problem. Isnt it? I am always interested to know what tool you are using to connect? SSMS or SQLCMD or something else?
IF you want to connect SQL Azure from on premise (from your desktop) you really need to add your IP address in SQL Azure firewall exception list first. Even when you checked it that could be the main reason. Here is the guideline connecting SQL Azure DB and please follow first 3 points when you are trying to connect from your desktop. Those 3 points are:
Add your IP address in SQL Azure Exception List and add 1433 Port exception in your own firewall exception list
Verify you have setup firewall exception correctly
Always use login1#servername when connecting to SQL Azure DB nane XXXX.database.windows.net
After that try using SqlCmd as described here.
