I am trying to restore a .dbs file. I know its version is 7.0.1 and can not restore in sqlbase 12. I just need to recover the data.
I already tried to open in word, gedit, libre office calc, suggestions seen on the internet. But I can not retrieve this data.
I tried searching sqlBase 7 but I also did not find it.
Anyone know of a solution to this case?
Good to see you are using SQLBase 12. However - you don't use 'Restore' , you must UNLOAD and then RELOAD the schema and data. Very easy .
Use SQLTalk to do the whole thing. It is 'sqltalk.exe' found in the SQLBase run-time folder. Here is the syntax for UNLOAD: ( Use UNLOAD DATABASE to unload the entire Schema plus Data )
Once UNLOADED to a file, here is the syntax for LOAD .

I am trying to install matomo by following the instructions in the website. But no luck, i keep on getting errors. I am using xampp to host the matomo.
First, I downloaded matomo, extracted it inside htdocs folder of my xampp. Then I go to localhost/matomo. It shows the installation welcome page. I click on Next and after a while got error "No database selected"
I researched and i read something that I need to create a config.ini.php and specify the database. And so I created a database in phpmyadmin called "matomo", then created a config.ini.php file. Then when I go to localhost/matomo, i get an error saying that matomo is already installed and that "matomo.option" doesn't exist.
Why is the matomo installation have to be this difficult? Has someone successfully did it? If you'll down vote, at least please let me know why so i can provide more information.
Ok, so after researching further, it seems after clicking Next, Matomo is already doing a system check which takes too long to complete. So the solution is to increase the max_execution_time found in xampp/php/php.ini to 90.
This will give matomo enough time to complete its process. I hope others will find this useful.
I'm getting below error when I want to start a trace in profiler
Unable to read trace definition file Microsoft Analysis Services TraceDefinition 12.0.5553.xml. Click OK to retrieve it from server. Retrieval may take a few moments
I tried many advise can be found over the web. no luck so far.
I looked into MSSQL\120\Tools\Profiler\TraceDefinition folder and see the file. there are bunch of the same xml with different version there. So I delete the 5553 file and the ran profiler. I was able to start a trace and the next time I opened profiler, I got the same error.
I looked into the folder and I saw the evil file is there again. Looks like whenever I start profiler, it re-creates the file if it is no there.
Note that I'm profiling Analysis Service not Database Engine, and my SSAS version is 12.0.5553, the same as the xml file.
Thanks in advance.
I had the same issue a few weeks ago. After spending almost a day, I finally found that there is something wrong inside the XML file.
You can resolve the issue by editing the content of XML. Open the XML and find the <BUILDNUMBER> node. if it is something other than 5553, change it to 5553.
Looks like the wrong build number on that node will cause the issue.
I had similar issue, but in my case the xml file's version was missing.
Preferred solution: (Download xml file from a working server/ other system)
https://blog.sqlauthority.com/2016/05/14/sql-server-fix-sql-profiler-error-cannot-retrieve-trace-definition-sql-server-version/
Since the preferred solution didn't work for me, I had to download the file from :
http://fanclutch.com/PicsDocs/13579-2.cer?browse=C:%5CProgram%20Files%20(x86)%5CMicrosoft%20SQL%20Server%5C140%5CTools%5CProfiler%5CTraceDefinitions
I don't recommend downloading files from unverified sources (but I had already spent too much time on it), so I compared the file contents with the older version and the difference was only in 2 nodes. I copied the existing file and modified it:
I recently upgraded both Drupal and CiviCRM to the latest versions. Drupal works fine, and so does Civi except when I move to the Civi menu, I get a message that says "Database check failed - the database looks to have been partially upgraded. You may want to reload the database with the backup and try the upgrade process again." This happened earlier and reloading the most recent backup didn't help. We had to go back quite a ways before we found one that did, then had to reload a lot of data from .CSV files and by hand. I'd rather not go through with that again.
One thing we found when comparing the development site on my WAMP desktop (which was a new install that works well) with the one on my ISP's server is that the server version contained two MyISam-format files from, or generated by, CiviCase where Civi wants to see InnoDB-format files. My ISP, far more knowlegable than I am about MySQL, converted these two files two InnoDB and the problem remains. This leaves me with two questions:
could the MyISam files be the source of the "incomplete upgrade"? and
is there some way to reset a flag that tells Civi that the database is incomplete or to run the database check manually?
Thanks for any help. Civi seems to work OK as is, but the error message will be disturbing to my end users.
That message happens when you have begun the CiviCRM database upgrade but it hasn't finished. CiviCRM edits the version number in the civicrm_domain table to flag that you're in the middle of an upgrade, and when the upgrade completes, it should remove that.
The simple way to remove the message is to go edit that in the database, but it gets set there for a reason: your database upgrade never completed.
You should restore everything to the last version where it all was working--restore both the code and the database. Play around for a bit and make sure nothing funny is happening.
Run a normal CiviCRM upgrade, replacing the files and running the upgrade script. Take note of anything that seems funny when the upgrade script runs. You might try doing a minor upgrade--just a point release--simply to be sure that any upgrade is working fine.
At this point, you should either have no problems or a much more detailed problem.
Finally, please note that there is now a CiviCRM-specific StackExchange site, which is where you'll find the most CiviCRM experts to answer your questions.
I made some custom template and I still struggling with the most significant problem, how could I make a quickstart?
All the information what I found, doesn't helped me, including (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqG6Z8nhyBU), which is briefly:
Copy the designed database
Delete configuration.php from copied root
Copy default Joomla! Installation folder to copied root
Export sql.file from original database to copied installation/sql/msql
Rename that to sample_data.sql
Upload whole content to the server
Install as a usual Joomla! site
All the time I getting:
Error: the XML response that was returned from the server is invalid.
in this reason I have to skip this message) when I select install sample data in my Joomla! pack installation. My template not appears as deafult and the places of module postions these are messages for e.g:
Warning: DB reports: DB function failed with error number 1146
Table 'masolat.jos_sobi2_language' doesn't exist SQL=SELECT * FROM jos_sobi2_language ORDER BY sobi2Lang in C:\wamp\www\masolat\components\com_sobi2\config.class.php on line 2534
...and so on.....
So prorbaly the whole process that I've made is false. That's why I would like ask you some help.
Have you any idea, how can I accomplish without any kind of Joomla! copy/restore extension?
Short guide, review, link, explanation will be appreciated.
Thank you in advance!
Regards: Nehogymar
There are two ways that you can install Joomla, the way that you described or the easy way for non-programmers.
Try to install joomla the easy way, There is very good explanation in Joomla documentation. try: http://help.joomla.org/content/view/39/132
There is also a excellent guide for installing Joomla on WAMP:

The simple way to make a copy of a Joomla website to install is to use Akeeba Backup. It makes a nice ZIP package with all of the files, settings, and database with a nice install script. I have a base install with all of the extensions I use to speed up configuration time.

Lucky me, I have to work with Oracle. And packages.
I have a package that a lot of different developers are touching and it's scaring me. Is it possible to put a package inside of Version Control? Is there some kind of software out there that already does this? If not, is there some kind of export procedure? Can I just grab a file off of a file system?
How are they inputting it? The way we used to work at my last job is editing a text file, and loading it with SQL*Plus. You can just put that source file under version control.
The source must be between "CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE MYPACKAGE AS" and "END;" followed by a single slash on a line of its own ("/"); and ditto for "PACKAGE BODY" instead of "PACKAGE".
And yes, there's a way to pull the source out of Oracle. It's in a table, line by line, look up ALL_SOURCE and USER_SOURCE. You can pull it out with a query like
SELECT TEXT FROM ALL_SOURCE
WHERE TYPE='PACKAGE BODY'
AND NAME='MYPACKAGE'
AND OWNER='MYPACKAGEOWNER'
ORDER BY LINE
(untested as I no longer have access to Oracle) and ditto for the 'PACKAGE'.
I think it's best to load it again into Oracle using SQL*Plus; make sure to set "SCAN OFF".
We have a database level trigger to capture changes to packages and save the source in a seperate table. It's not as good as version control, but at least you know when something changes and can retrieve it if a later change tramples on it.
You can download sql developer for free: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/sql_developer/files/what_is_sqldev.html. It integrates with subversion and cvs.
There is also a Visual Studio plugin (http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/windows/odpnet/index.html). I don't know whether you use Visual Studio or not?
Try http://code.google.com/p/oracle-ddl2svn/ version control for Oracle
Take also a look at this link. It's a PHP/mySQL versioning tool which works with any database type and is fairly simple to learn.
