My dbms_job has been running for nearly thirty days.
The number of total time keeps rising, but I can't find any info of the running job.
When I execute sql that is "select * from dba_jobs;", the result shows no job is running.
I set it to broken, but it doesn't work.
How can I stop this dbms_job safely?
DBA_JOBS lists all the jobs created in the database. You could use DBA_JOBS_RUNNING view to list all jobs that are currently running in the instance.

This shows all the jobs created using DBMS_JOBS package. The job might have created using DBMS_SCHEDULER package.
SQL> select job from user_jobs;
JOB

I have created only one job using DBMS_JOBpackage which is called 99.
Others are created using DBMS_SCHEDULERpackage which can be seen using:
SQL> select job_name from user_scheduler_jobs;

Its not easy to stop the job.
Don't know which version of Oracle database are you using. But starting with Oracle 10g You use the following query to list the scheduled jobs.
SQL>select * from all_scheduler_jobs;
ALL_SCHEDULER_JOBS

Use the following query to find the currently running job.
SQL>select job_name, session_id, running_instance, elapsed_time, cpu_used
from user_scheduler_running_jobs;
And to stop-
SQL>EXEC DBMS_SCHEDULER.STOP_JOB (job_name => 'JOB_NAME');
Short of killing the session, you're out of luck.

Note that, once a job is started and running, there is no easy way to stop the job.
That's one of the many reasons why you shouldn't use dbms_job anymore. Use dbms_scheduler instead.
checkout SID in "select * from DBA_JOBS_RUNNNG"
thats session ID
kill that session and thats it changes will be rolled back, so it can take "more" time to abort than letting it finish if that bulk update was 90% complete....

I have two SSIS jobs that are stuck in Created Execution status. They cannot run since the package version has changed (I get Error Msg 27150: The version of the project has changed since the instance of the execution has been created. Create a new execution instance and try again.) I do not want to run this anymore, just delete it.
How can I remove these from the execution log? catalog.stop_operation does not work since there is no active operation for this job.
Note: the job does not appear in Active Operations, since it never started.
SSISDB keeps track of all operations that are currently active/executing. In order to retrieve a list of all active operations, you need to right-click SSISDB and choose Active Operations
You can then click the Stop button located at the bottom right of the window

The statement below stops the execution of the SSIS package with operation_id=65

Title says about as much as I can say, I have tried stopping these packages from running but the stop operations seem to have no end. How can I kill the running operations?

So my solution, which is not really a solution was just to delete the SSISDB and create a new one. If you find a real solution please let me know
Right click SSISDB under Integration Services Catalog - Select Active operations - Select your operation and click stop.
You can also script this to for example
USE SSISDB
GO
EXEC [catalog].[stop_operation] 82428
You can also get all your running status by doing this:
SELECT 'exec [catalog].[stop_operation] ' + CAST(operation_id as varchar(10))
FROM [SSISDB].[internal].[operations]
where status = 2
And then copy them to a query window and execute it.
And if that doesnt work - You could either stop your SQL Job agent Job or kill the processes under Activity Monitor - But that should be the last option.
I want to Schedule to run ETL_Job2 no Success of ETL_Job1 and on Success of ETL_Job2 has to start ETL_Job3.
Jobs are to be created in the SQL Server Agent and the SSIS packages associated with the respective job are from the separate solutions.
Appreciate any help on this.
One way is, you can maintain a table and at the end of the entire package process, the Execute SQL Task in SSIS Package should update the status of it. (Make sure that Error Handling should be done for that and in case of error it should update failure.)
And on another hand, another job should trigger itself to check the status of that table, once it gets status successful it can be started. All checking you can do in SSIS Package.
There is no built-in way to make a job run based on the success of another job.
The usual way to do this is to make all three "jobs" be different steps in the same job.
Is there any way to have a package (which will be a wrapper) run every minute in SQL Server agent, even if it is already running from a previous execution. It seems the SQL Server agent does not launch if already running. Is there a way to override this behaviour?

Hm, this SQL Jobs behavior is standard for MS SQL Server and cannot be altered. For your situation if you are on SQL 2012 and higher, you can use new SSIS Catalog with async execution. By using this your job will start package execution and quit; therefore you are free to start it in a minute. Disadvantage - job status will only show whether package been started and nothing on its outcome; you have to do execution monitoring yourself.
Switching to async package execution requires SSIS 2012+, establishing SSIS Catalog DB, switching your packages to Project deploy model. After all, create SQL Job to start package, specify all needed connections and parameters, save it. Then with context menu select Script Job as -> DROP and CREATE to -> New Query Editor Window. In the query text - locate substring
/Par "\"$ServerOption::SYNCHRONIZED(Boolean)\"";True
and switch it to
/Par "\"$ServerOption::SYNCHRONIZED(Boolean)\"";False
Then run script updating your job.
This strange script manipulation is needed since by default SQL Job executes package synchronously and does not expose async option in user interface.
If you schedule a SQL Server job to run every X number of minutes, and it does not finish the previous call before the # of minutes is up, will it skip the run since it is already running, or will it run two instances of the job doing the same steps?
The SQL Server agent checks whether the job is already running before starting a new iteration. If you have long running job and its schedule comes up, it would be skipped until the next interval.
You can try this for yourself. If you try to start a job that's already running, you will get an error to that effect.
I'm pretty sure it will skip it if it is running.
Which version of SQL Server are you using? This seems like a pretty easy thing to test. Set up a job with a WAITFOR in it that inserts a single row into a table and set up the job to run twice in quick succession (shorter than the WAITFOR DELAY).
When running such a test in SQL Server 2005 it skipped the run that was overlapped.
