Return value from function in SQL Server - sql-server

I want to get the last Saturday from today + 21 days.
In order to achieve this, I have written this script shown below. But the problem is that I can't get success to return the value from the result.
I want to create this function in SQL Server and will get this value in a stored procedure where I want.

What is the logic to extend the values here to e.g. 1000?

SQL Server 2016 - Running Count and Sum for a 24 hours sliding window

I am trying to count orders over a 24 hours sliding window. I have a 'detetime' field and I'm calculating the 24 hours window aggregating at the minute level. It should re-start counting every time the order time between two consecutive orders is over 1440 minutes or when the running time of consecutive orders is over 1440 minutes.
Environment is SQL server 2016, I can create Temp tables but no physical tables and no memory-optimized objects (I guess anything working on 2012+ should work).
I tried an inner join on the same table and tested with recursive CTEs, ROW_NUMBER etc. but the issue is that there is never a set number of rows for the 24 hours window and the base time from which to calculate the start of the period changes. The only constant I have is the 24 hours time span.

Cross apply seems to be working for the most part but in some instances - when calculating the running 24 hours window - it isn't. I tried changing the datetime conditions in the WHERE clause in many ways but I still can't figure out how to get it to work correctly.
I thought about creating a reset event at the 24 hours mark as showed here https://blog.jooq.org/2015/05/12/use-this-neat-window-function-trick-to-calculate-time-differences-in-a-time-series/ but at this point my brain is melting and I can't even get the logic straight.

When the running time between orders is over 24 hours the running count should re-start from 1.
Currently it repeats the last value and the time it's using for the calculation seems to be off.

After finding this post on how to reset a running sum, I think I may have finally been able to crack this nut. Not sure about how well it scales but it is working.
I also added a new column for order quantity since it may be useful sometimes to track the orders running total during the same time window.
The sliding time window can be set in this CASE statement:

I want to find the missing NON-consecutive dates between two consecutive date.

It looks like you're trying to count the number of days not used between the mindate and the maxdate for each an. If that's the case, then this should do the trick:
select an, min(dt) as min_dt, max(dt) as max_dt

For 9099457123 I got two rows with 9 in ConsecutiveNotUseddays. You can check results removing WHERE statement.
On any newer version of SQL Server this should be easy:

Recursive CTE generating extra record

I have following Recursive SQL query to generate all dates for any month provided in a date.
It always generate extra date(1st of next month).

In Recursive CTE, the recursive query will be first executed then the Where clause is validated

Get a list of dates between two dates using a function

My question is similar to this MySQL question, but intended for SQL Server:
Is there a function or a query that will return a list of days between two dates? For example, lets say there is a function called ExplodeDates:
SELECT ExplodeDates('2010-01-01', '2010-01-13');
This would return a single column table with the values:
2010-01-01
2010-01-02
2010-01-03
2010-01-04
2010-01-05
2010-01-06
2010-01-07
2010-01-08
2010-01-09
2010-01-10
2010-01-11
2010-01-12
2010-01-13
I'm thinking that a calendar/numbers table might be able to help me here.

I have accepted Rob Farley's answer, as it was the fastest, even though numbers table solutions (used by both KM and StingyJack in their answers) are something of a favourite of mine. Rob Farley's was two-thirds faster.

Please note... if you already have a sufficiently large nums table then you should use:

You should NOT create your ExplodeDates function using a function that involves BEGIN and END, as the Query Optimizer becomes unable to simplify the query at all.

I'm an oracle guy, but I believe MS SQL Server has support for the connect by clause:

Dual is just a 'dummy' table that comes with oracle (it contains 1 row and the word 'dummy' as the value of the single column).
A few ideas:
If you need the list dates in order to loop through them, you could have a Start Date and Day Count parameters and do a while loop whilst creating the date and using it?
Use C# CLR Stored Procedures and write the code in C#
Do this outside the database in code
Would all these dates be in the database already or do you just want to know the days between the two dates? If it's the first you could use the BETWEEN or <= >= to find the dates between
EXAMPLE:

Perhaps if you wish to go an easier way, this should do it.

Now let's look at how it works.
The inner query merely returns a list of integers from 0 to 9999. It will give us a range of 10,000 values for calculating dates. You can get more dates by adding rows for ten_thousands and hundred_thousands and so forth.

This part converts the string to a date and adds a number to it from the inner query.

Then we convert the result into the format you want. This is also the column name!

Next we extract only the distinct values and give the column name an alias of aDate.

We use the where clause to filter in only dates within the range you want. Notice that we use the column name here since SQL Server does not accept the column alias, aDate, within the where clause.
