Please note that before you execute above SQL Select statement, you need to create user defined function to create dates table in SQL . This function enables calendar table dbo.DateTable() between given two dates
Another interesting part of this dynamic SQL pivot is, programmers use SQL concatenation using XML Path . So we concatenate all dates seperated by comma and build our #SQL variable.
At the end we evaluate the #SQL command using sp_ExecuteSQL stored procedure

I've read multiple threads on this topic, and there does seem to be a way to do this dynamically, but I'm getting a syntax/compile error on the code.
I am trying to dynamically pull multiple rows for a temp table that simply has one column. The definition of the temp table is one field called acct_name. The challenge seems to be the "dynamics" of the fact that there will be over 50+ rows in the temp table, which is subject to change at any time.
I followed a previous poster's example, but am still getting compile/runtime errors.
I'm a rather novice SQL person, so you'll have to excuse the crudity of my code or my question.

FOR EXAMPLE,
Let's say for sake of example we have the following acct_names - '12345','23456','34567','45678'.
The desire result is to return one row with 4 columns each with the respective value of acct_name. HOWEVER, the acct name is dynamic and is not known in advance, nor is the count of acct_name known in advance. A temp table is generated on the fly which determines all of the relevant acct_names for that particular run. It will vary with each run, each day that the query is run.

I received help previously on creating a query for listing total sales by month for a list of jobs. However, I cannot put this into a view as a variable needs declared.
I thought I could use a Table Valued Function (which I've never used before) but apparently I need to define the columns of the table which I cannot do if they are to be dynamic (the columns are yyyy-mm).
Can someone suggest how I could approach this problem please?
I am not familiar with creating anything other than views so this is completely new to me. Obviously if using the TVF isn't the best method please advise.

Some things to note:
1 - I assume the table name has some type of extension that is a date? I used MM/DD/YYYY and removed the slashes as a format for the suffix.
2 - The WHERE clause will only work if you are not using the time part of the variable.
For instance, 03/15/2016 00:00:00 would be date without time entry. If not, you will have to use >= and < to grab all hours for a particular day.
3 - You are creating a table on the fly with this code. On the second execution, you will get a error unless you drop the table.
4 - You are not using the ON clause when joining table A to table R. To be ANSI compliant, move the WHERE clause to a ON clause.
5 - The actual calculation created by the CASE statement is not give a column name.
Issues 3 to 5 have to be solved on your end since I do not have the detailed business requirements.

I have following query which takes 2 parameters.

In my pivot query, I am trying to select columns based on #Year_Rtl variable. I need to select data for the year passed, last year and last last year. Since the data being displayed on UI is table format divided by #Year_Rtl, I decided to write a pivot query for that as below.
In the query, it works fine if I hard code [#Year_Rtl], [#Year_Rtl - 1], [#Year_Rtl - 2] to [2012], [2011], [2010]. But since the year passed can be anything, I want columns to be named dynamically.

Above query throws following errors:
Error converting data type nvarchar to smallint.
The incorrect value "#Year_Rtl" is supplied in the PIVOT operator.
Invalid column name '#Year_Rtl - 1'.
Invalid column name '#Year_Rtl - 2'.
Since you can use dynamic SQL, I'd go with a macro-replacement approach. You're identifying areas of the query that must be dynamically replaced with placeholders (e.g. $$Year_Rtl) and then calculating their replacement values below. I find that it keeps the SQL statement easy to follow.

Since consuming code will also have to be flaky under this scheme (e.g. selecting columns based on "position" rather than name) - why not normalize the columns by performing a DATEDIFF(year,Yr_No,#Year_Rtl), and work from there? Those columns will always be 0, -1 and -2...
You need to look into Dynamic SQL Pivoting.
I recommend reading Itzik Ben-Gan's T-SQL Fundamentals where he goes over how to do this.
Alternatively try this article if you don't want to buy the book.

The variable #cols contains the columns that is in the pivot and the variable #values contains the years for the IN. The #Year_Rtl is the end year and the #Year_Rtl_Start is the start for you range.
Then declaring and executing the dynamic pivot like this:

Facing problem for generating SQL Server Query
In the Following query dynamic conditions are added to check whether value is null or not

But I need to add IN () Conditions and the parameter with in the IN () could be null or blank also ,if the parameter /string which is passed to the IN condition is blank then i donot want to add that condition in the query.
So how can i Achieve this.A helping hand will be very useful for me.

Depending on value of your parameter (blank of not), you can create SQL string accordingly.
DECLARE #sqlCommand VARCHAR(1000)

and then, run it using dynamic query execution
EXEC (#sqlCommand)

See if this works...
I think the Dynamic query is the best solution, however you could put the "IS NULL" and "IS BLANK" condition in OR with your IN clause.
Something like that
Select *
From tblEmployees
where #EmployeeName is null or EmployeeName in (#EmployeeName)
When #EmployeeName is null, your IN clause will be ignored
If i get this right you have #EmployeeName = 'Name1,Name2,Name3' and you want to get the employees that is named Name1 or Name2 or Name3, also the variable #EmployeeName can be null or contain an empty string.
Instead of using IN you can split the string #EmployeeName on , and store it in a table variable or temporary table. Then you can use that table in a join against tblEmployees to get the rows you need.
There are a lot of posts in S.O. about how to split a string. Here is one recent variant.
