I have tried to Import data tier application (*.bacpac file) through SSMS 2016.I need to put that database into Azure. Then it gives below mentioned exception. But I can access the Azure's existing database's tables through SSMS. Can you tell me why this is happening ?

When I try to connect the Azure Sql instance through SSMS 2016,it gives below error. But still I can access the tables and etc on the SSMS. No problem there on accessing those items. But it gives the error as shown below on the first time.May be this error is related to the original one too.Any help would be highly appreciated ?
Based on the screenshots you have posted it looks like you are having problems connecting to a database on your local machine. One of the causes of the 'connection timeout' error is when you don't have a SQL Server instance running. There is a technet article with steps that could help you resolve this.
As an aside, SSMS provides a wizard to help you migrate a database on your local machine directly to an Azure SQL database without fussing with *.bacpac files. Perhaps that could help you solve your problem as well.

I am trying to create an OLE DB connection in SSIS that I want to use for this package I am building which basically is supposed to do an ETL having it's source from Excel and the output in a SQL table. However, I am getting the error as below when trying to connect to the server and check in. I am using windows authentication and trying to connect locally using the '.' I also couldn't find the sql server configuration manager in my computer. I reinstalled my management studio 2018 version, but the didn't fix it either. Any insights would help on resolving this issue.
Thanks

I have a very weird issue with SSAS Tabular connecting to a SQL Server source database. I've spent almost the entire day on this, and searched online in various ways to find a helpful answer, but none of the suggestions solved this mysterious problem for me.
It used to work fine, but I tried various connection settings (Windows vs SQL authentication, and different impersonation modes), but now I no longer can get it to work (even if I revert back to the previous bim file in source control).
When I process a table from the WORKSPACE database (through SSMS), it works. But when I process a table from the DEPLOYED database (still through SSMS), it does NOT work.
The connection I am using is:
-SQL Server Native Client 11.0
-Windows Authentication
-Impersonation mode of a Windows account (which has the appropriate permissions)
The source database is in a SQL Server database located on a different server (but in the same network).
I have searched everywhere online, but didn't find anything that could help me.
I have tried changing the connection driver (OLE DB Provider for SQL Server), and I have restarted the SSAS Tabular service.
The full error message I get when trying to process a table on the deployed database is:
Failed to save modifications to the server. Error returned: 'OLE DB or ODBC error: Login timeout expired; HYT00; A network-related or instance-specific error has occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. A connection could not be made to the data source with the Name of 'DataWarehouse'.
'.
In fact, after I tried a second time to restart the SSAS Tabular service, the error message I get after attempting to process a table is slightly different:
Failed to save modifications to the server. Error returned: 'OLE DB or ODBC error: A network-related or instance-specific error has occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. Server is not found or not accessible. Check if instance name is correct and if SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. ; 08001; Client unable to establish connection; 08001; Encryption not supported on the client.; 08001.

'.
According to your description, it seems to be related to connection problem. You need to check whether corresponding SQL server service and SSAS Service is running(check server which contains "DataWarehouse" is running and can be connected). You could go to "SQL Server Configuration Manager " to restart them.
In addition, you also need to make sure your current windows credential can access this database(if you use window credential). And check whether this server enable remote connect.

I'm having problems authenticating against dbs on azure. All the details are right but when I click connect I get the following error:

I already uninstalled everything related to SQL and SQL Management Studio and still no luck. I tried connecting with my account in other machine and works, so it seems is something on my machine.
Any suggestions?
UPDATE:
I tested another user on my machine and does work, so it must be something with my user on my machine!
Leaving this here as this SO article is the top result for "SSMS Failed to parse xml blob".
I got this error when I was capturing traffic with Fiddler 4 AND running SSMS at the same time. If you are running Fiddler 4, please close it and try again!
today I experienced the same error message and did a lot of trouble shooting. It turned out to be such a simple fix - my PC requires me to use the new password to log in after I changed it two weeks ago (it says the old password was expired). After I re-logged in, connected to VPN, then I got access back!
Ok after multiple attempts to sort this out, I finally got it fixed.
Follows the steps that worked for me:
Uninstall SQL and SQL Managment Studio
Delete SQL folders from Program Files
Open "regedit" and delete following entries:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Redist
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server 2017 Redist
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 11.0
Install CCleaner and run registry clean
Restart PC
Install SQL Managment Studio
I was facing this tonight. The connection worked while I was at the office but was failing when connected via the work VPN. I thought I'd have to go into the office. One of my teammates suggested I check and make sure my IP connectivity, and especially DNS, was set to automatic.
I disconnected from the VPN
Set IP & DNS to Automatic
Reconnected VPN
Connected to Azure SQL via SSMS successfully
I hope this helps someone else.
I am using SQL SERVER 2008 R2 and I have a job which runs a DTS daily. When I try to execute the DTS package it works but when I try to use the scheduled job it returns the error:
Error:
-2147467259 (80004005); Provider Error: 18452 (4814) Error string: Login failed for user '(null)'. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection. Error source: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server Help file: Help context: 0. Process Exit Code 1. The step failed.
How can I solve that?
Follow the below steps:
1. Start > Programs > Microsoft SQL Server 2008 > SQL Server Management Studio.
2. In the Object Explorer, right-click the Server and select Properties.
3. In the Server Properties dialog box select the Security page.
4. Under Server authentication, select SQL Server and Windows Authentication Mode.
Then restart the server.

I stumbled across this issue and spent lot of time.
Finally found the issue is not in any user settings but my publish settings are overriding my connection string.
In web deploy settings there is an option to override your web.config connection string. Either untick that option or place the correct connection string.

I am placing this answer in case anyone gets stuck like me. :)
For the past month I have been using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio tool to connect to my database which created on the Azure portal. Recently I received updates from Microsoft related to Microsoft Visual Studio. After I installed these, I can't connect to my SQL database (previously it was working fine). Update History Screenshot I attached the screenshot of recent updates (which I installed) and the error message for your view.Error Message
Please help to solve this issue.
note: I am an SQL beginner, so I don't know many technical things related to tools, so please keep your answers to my level, Thanks!

This error means that you tried to create a connection to an endpoint and you were expecting a acknowledgment from sql server, however, that acknowledgement did not occur. This means that you are either blocked by your own network, a network in route, or the endpoint network (which all three could be your own if, running locally). I would start by pinging that server ip address and seeing what you come up with.
that problem solved automatically, when I tried to keep connecting. really I don't know what was the problem..thanks for ur reply guys.
