Hi is it possible to create a tooltip of which the content is an AngularJS directive? Meaning that the tooltip contains not only texts (like a normal tooltip), but some SVG graphs as well. The use case will be the same, say, the user mouses-over an element, and instead of showing some texts, it's now showing some graphs.
You can use angular-bootstrap popover directive with custom template. You can read here

Is there a way to tell Angular to not compile contents of certain elements?
Use case:
Angular CMS contains textarea elements that have CKEditor attached. The CKEditor is using the divarea plugin instead of the default iframe plugin. The textareas contain HTML templates. These templates are exported on demand and fed to a Angular webapp.
The templates are simple enough: plain text, ordered lists, the occasional predefined class attribute applied on the plain text; but the plain text can contain placeholders for the Angular webapp to interpolate. I do not want to let the Angular in the CMS interpolate these at all.
Currently my problem is that the Angular in the CMS interpolates these placeholders and, since they don't refer to anything, removes them. I would rather not just change the delimiters to '{[', ']}', as while this might fix this in the short term, the chance of directive and text copy collision increases as the project goes on, and I'd like to avoid it.
Is there any directive or other way to tell Angular to keep away from the content of specially marked elements?
Use ng-non-bindable directive on the element:
The ngNonBindable directive tells Angular not to compile or bind the
contents of the current DOM element. This is useful if the element
contains what appears to be Angular directives and bindings but which
should be ignored by Angular.
Or use your own directive with terminal: true property to match the layout better, because it is the only thing that ng-non-bindable directive does.
Hi I would like to customize behavior of the ui-select little bit. I use two bootstap themed ui-select controls on my page with the help of templatecaches. In the template, I wired up arrow button click event using ng-click tag. That way I can easily catch the click event on the arrow button, and in my controller I can open a popup using function, for instance:
<button ng-click = "someFunctionInTheScope()">
For instance if I have two of those ui-select elements in my view, I need to differentiate which arrow button is clicked to display the correct popup. Since I am using the same template for two ui-select controls and since theoretically I can have any number of these controls on my page, I can not easily add a parameter to the method in the template to differentiate which arrow image of which ui-select control is clicked:
<button ng-click= "someFunctionInTheScope(1)">
Because both ui-select control would be using the same template code and 1 would be passed to the controller function for both of them.
Therefore I need to find a more clever way of changing the template dynamically once and for each control.
So I thought about having something like
<button ng-click= "someFunctionInTheScope($select.id)">
but when I debug it I see that functions parameter is undefined, every time it is clicked.
Can somebody please show me how to hack this?
There is no id property on the $select object. You're best bet is to pass something through the scope of the element containing the ui-select boxes. In other words, your code needs to generate a unique identifier for each ui-select box you have. This could be the $index property of an ng-repeat block, a timestamp, or something dependent on other context.
A little more context and I can provide a more specific answer.
The situation is I have an HTML structure somewhat similar to this:
<div class="dynamicDirectiveGoesHere">
<p>{{SomeExpressionThatDiffers}}</p>
</div>
I need to display a bootstrap http://angular-ui.github.io/bootstrap/ popover when the text within p has an ellipsis. That's why I'm adding the popover attribute dynamically. I can get the popover to display using $compile, but the problem is the text within {{ }} goes away. I can't use the template trick since I don't really know what the template will be since the popover will happen on several different child tags that have different templates. So that's why there is the need to only $compile what's in div, and not in the child element (p tag). Is this possible with angular?
You can add the property terminal to your directive and adjust the priority to fit your needs.
terminal: true prevents other directives from getting instantiated and is used by for example the ng-repeat and ng-if directive.
You can read more here https://docs.angularjs.org/api/ng/service/$compile (scroll down to terminal).
I'm trying to use the kendo ui grid and display a link column in an AngularJS application. The column is rendered using a template. I'm using the AngularJS ng-click directive in the template to call a method when the link in a cell is clicked. ng-click does not appear to work in a column template.
Here is an example.
However a similar example that DOES NOT use a column template seems to work fine with ng-click.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
How can I do something like this?
<scrollable-directive>
<fun-content-directive>
</fun-content-directive>
</scrollable-directive>
e.g I want to build out a custom scrolling container with events for infinite scrolling, etc. that I can put content in.
