Angular js ng-model - angularjs

There are two buttons, through which popup is opened,
I have input field in that popup and applied validations on that input field.
If I close the popup and clicks on second button then input value is already got filled, because I used same input field to reduce code.
How to reset that ng-model value of input field?
I tried to set it null on click of close button, but after clicking on second button it set null but shows valiation errors on first time.
How to achieve this functionality using same input field?
<form name="vm.pvtZipCodeSearchForm" id="pvtZipCodeSearchForm" class="clearfix">
<div class="alert alert-danger" ng-if="vm.errorMsg">{{vm.InvalidAddressError}}</div>
<fieldset class="form-control form-control-wrapper">
<div class="fields">
<input type="text" class="form-control" placeholder="{{vm.lang.tcZipCode}}Postnummer*" title="{{vm.lang.tcZipCode}}*" name="zipCode" maxlength="5" ng-model="vm.tariff.zipCode" ng-maxlength="5" ng-minlength="5" ng-required="!disable" />
<div ng-if="vm.isValidForm" class="error-message" ng-messages="vm.pvtZipCodeSearchForm.zipCode.$error" role="alert">
<div ng-message="required">{{vm.lang.errMsgBlankField}}</div>
<div ng-message="minlength">{{vm.lang.errMsgShortField}}</div>
<div ng-message="maxlength">{{vm.lang.errMsgLongField}}</div>
</div>
</div>
<br />
<div class="fields tac">
<button type="button" ng-click="vm.tcSearchZipCode()" class="tc___button--search">{{vm.lang.search}}</button>
</div>
</fieldset>
</form>

You can try setting
vm.pvtZipCodeSearchForm.zipCode.$pristine = true;

Input text is empty using ng-model if value is provided

I passed an array value in my view with $userdata.
In my view, there's a button there that will show a modal when triggered. This modal will show the user data using the $userdata variable.
Now, I used angular js for my form inputs.
For example:
div class="form-group">
<label for="company_name" class="col-sm-12 control-label">Company Name</label>
<div id="company_name" class="col-sm-12">
<input type="text" class="form-control" name="company_name" value="{{$userData['company']['name']}}" ng-model="user.company_name" ng-required="true">
</div>
<div class="col-sm-12">
<span ng-show="userForm.company_name.$error.required && userForm.company_name.$touched"><br> <small><i>Name field is required</i></small></span>
</div>
</div>
The problem here is the input is not showing any value.
Why so? But when I removed the ng-model and just used a plain input field, the value will be shown.
You have to remove value="..." from input, ng-model will control it. look at this example.
<input type="text" class="form-control" name="company_name" ng-model="user.company_name" ng-required="true">

How to obtain values from input fields with Angular JS after ng-repeat

I'm new in AngulsrJS and I've got following code:
<form ng-if="editorCtrl.edit" class="form-horizontal" role="form" ng-submit="editorCtrl.saveEntry()">
<div class="form-group">
<div class="col-md-6" ng-repeat="(key,field) in editorCtrl.editEntry">
<label>{{key}}</label>
<input type="text" class="form-control" value={{field}} />
</div>
</div>
<!-- ng-model="editorCtrl.toSave[key]" ng-value="{{field}}" that part was in input attributes -->
<div class="form-group">
<div style="padding-left:110px">
<input type="submit" value="Update selected entry" ng-disabled="form.$invalid" class="btn btn-primary"/>
</div>
</div>
</form>
Now I need to obtain values from input fields. I tried to use ng-model="editorCtrl.toSave[key], but it's not working in a correct way.
Any suggestions how to resolve this situation ?
if you can consider no necesary the "toSave" object maybe you can use the 2-way data binding properly only using editEntry Object :
<input type="text" class="form-control" value={{field}} ng-model="editorCtrl.editEntry[key]"/>
In this way after a submit you will get editEntry with the fields modifieds (or not), here is an example
https://jsfiddle.net/pv8qrwty/1/
run the example and if you modified the fields after you press the submit button it will be displayed in your browser console
hope this help ! and sorry for my english !

form.$valid is working for "required" but it's not working for ngPattern and maxlength.

If zipcode is empty then form is invalid so button is disabled but if zipcode is 2 digits error message is showing but form is showing as valid in controller. If zipcode is empty then I need to disable button but I'm checking form valid or not but dont worry about ng-disabled. I just need solution for showing the "div" if and only if form is valid.
function submitUserDetail (formValid) {
if(formValid) {
$scope.showDiv = true;
}
}
<div class="">
<div class="">
<label required>
Zip code required
</label>
<label pattern>
Invalid Zip code
</label>
</div>
<div class="">
<input type="tel" maxlength="5" class="" name="zip5"
ng-model="userDetail.zipCode" required=""
pattern="^\d{5}$"
data-validate-on-blur="true" value=""
size="5">
<span class="" title="Reset" onclick="jQuery(this).prev('input').val('').trigger('change');"></span>
</div>
</div>
<div class="">
<div class="">
<div class="">
<span class=""></span>
<button class="" href="#" id="button" ng-click="submitUserDetail(form.$valid)" ng-disabled="form.$invalid">See section</button>
<span class=""></span>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div ng-if="showDiv">
.......
</div>
Thanks in advance.
I assume that you have a <form> wrapping the HTML provided.
If so, you should make sure your <form> tag has novalidate applied so you're using AngularJS form validation and not HTML5 form validation:
<form name="form" ng-submit="submitUserDetail(form.$valid)" novalidate>
Also, it looks like you're mixing HTML5 validation attributes with AngularJS validation attributes. You should be using ng-required and ng-pattern instead of required and pattern.

validating controls inside different div in AngularJs

I am using AngularJs. I have 2 div, which I am hiding and showing each other. Each div contains few controls, which I have set "required" validation on click of submit button. By default the div "createMenu" is shown. Below is the code used:
<div ng-controller="testController" ng-init="init()">
<form name="mainForm" id="createForm" ng-submit="mainForm.$valid && add()" novalidate="">
<div class="container" ng-show="createMenu">
<div class="row">
<div class="col-sm-2">
<label>Name :</label>
</div>
<div class="col-md-6 form-group">
<input type="text" maxlength="150" required="" ng- model="testName" name="testName" />
</div>
</div>
<span style="color:red" ng-show="submitted == true && mainForm.testName.$error.required">Name is required</span>
<br />
<input type="submit" value="Submit" ng-click="submitted=true" />
</div>
<div class="container" ng-show="copyView">
<div class="row">
<div class="col-sm-4">
<label class="control-label">New Name :</label>
</div>
<div class="col-sm-4">
<input type="text" required="" maxlength="150" class="form-control" ng-model="NewName" name="NewName" />
</div>
</div>
<span style="color:red" ng-show="submitted == true && mainForm.NewName.$error.required">New Name is required</span>
<input type="submit" value="Submit" ng-click="copydata()" />
</div>
The issue is: If I click on the submit button in the first div, the controls in the div "copyView" is also getting validated. When the first submit button is clicked, I want to validate the textbox available in the "createMenu" div only. when the "copyView" div is shown, than at that time, when the submit button inside that div is clicked, the "New Name" textbox should be validated.
How to differentiate between the two divs, when the error messages are shown.
Thanks
You can use separate form tag for the separate div tag.
like
<div ng-controller="name">
<form>
//first dive
</form>
<form>
//second div
</form>
</div>

AngularJS and Bootstrap: Red border on invalid input field on submit

I've this basic form implemented using AngularJS and Bootstrap:
http://jsfiddle.net/dennismadsen/0stwd03k/
HTML
<div ng-controller="MyCtrl">
<form class="well" name="formTest" ng-submit="save()">
<div class="form-group">
<label for="name">Name*</label>
<input type="name" class="form-control" id="name" placeholder="Enter name" required />
</div>
<button type="submit" class="btn btn-default">Submit</button>
</form>
</div>
JavaScript
var myApp = angular.module('myApp', []);
function MyCtrl($scope) {
$scope.save = function () {
};
}
Result
The Name input field is required. When I click the submit button, I need the input field to have a red border if it's invalid. How can this be done?
Alternatively, if I unfocus the input field and it's still not valid, it would be great that the red corder is shown on that time, instead of waiting for the form submit.
Twitter Bootstrap has an has-error class, so I would use this in conjunction with ng-class for the form group, then a label with the label and label-danger classes for good measure:
<div class="form-group" ng-class="{'has-error': errors.Name }">
<label for="name">Name*</label>
<input type="name" class="form-control" id="name" placeholder="Enter name" required />
<span class="label label-danger" ng-if="errors.Name">{{errors.Name}}</span>
</div>
Then in your controller, have an errors object, and set the Name property of this to a string when the name is invalid.
The first thing you were missing was adding ng-model='name' to input field, then only will the form become invalid once you click submit, otherwise the form will always be valid since it considers that there is no field present.
Then I'd add the submitted class on the submit click button, then put the border css like .submitted would be the parent and .ng-invalid would be the child so we can put the style on .submitted .ng-invalid
HTML
<div ng-controller="MyCtrl">
<form class="well" name="formTest" ng-class="{'submitted': submitted}" ng-submit="save()" >
<div class="form-group">
<label for="name">Name*</label>
<input type="name" class="form-control" id="name" placeholder="Enter name" ng-model="name" required />
</div>{{submitted}}
<button type="submit" class="btn btn-default" ng-click="submitted= true;">Submit</button>
</form>
</div>
CSS
.submitted .ng-invalid{
border: 1px solid red;
}
Working Fiddle
Hope this could help you, Thanks.
Basically you need angular to take over validation, so add novalidate to form. Also add ng-class to input field to determine wether to add error css
<form name="myForm" novalidate ng-submit="test()">
<input type="text" name="user" ng-model="user" required ng-class="myForm.user.$invalid && myForm.user.$dirty ? 'error' : ''">
<span style="color:red" ng-show="myForm.user.$dirty && myForm.user.$invalid">
<span ng-show="myForm.user.$error.required">Username is required. </span>
</span>
<p>
<input type="submit"
ng-disabled="myForm.user.$dirty && myForm.user.$invalid ||
myForm.email.$dirty && myForm.email.$invalid">
</p>
</form>
Good luck..
