Using Cloud SQL server as source for scribe - sql-server

I am planning to use scribe insight for integration. I have used SQL server with scribe before. But they were related to the same Active directory. But this time my source will be a SQL server hosted in the cloud.
Is it really possible to use a cloud based SQL server as a source?
What kind of adapter should I use?

Can we use Snowflake cloud data from within Azure Analysis Services?

We are currently using on-premises SSAS-Tabular cubes feeding from the Snowflake Cloud database.
We achieve this using ODBC Drivers to Snowflake.
So far so good but it requires setting up an ODBC datasource on the SQL Server machine itself.
We would like to test/use Azure Analysis Services instead.
We deployed our cube to Azure but cannot process it because we do not have our ODBC drivers setup in Azure.
Is there a way to access Snowflake Cloud database from within Azure Analysis Services?
Thanks

How to setup SQL Azure Reporting?

My boss asked me to do some reports with SQL Azure Reporting. I'm quite new to this business, but I already did some reports with success on SSRS, but now I am facing some difficulties on how to setup the SQL Azure Reporting.
First, I tried to enter on Azure Portal and could not find the SQL Azure Reporting.
Am I doing this in the right way?
I already tried to do some research on Google, but I still get stucked on this.
My apologies if this question is too primary.
Thank you anyway.
The Azure SQL Database PaaS service does not have an embedded reporting tool. With that said, there are a few options for running SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS):
If you have an on-premises instance of SSRS, you can use your Azure SQL Database as a target and create reports
If you are looking to run everything in Azure, you can host an instance of SSRS in an Azure VM (IaaS). To accomplish this, there are two scenarios:
Provision an instance of SQL Server in an Azure VM and configure SSRS
Provision an instance of Windows Server in an VM Azure, "bring your own SQL Server license", and install SSRS in the VM.
If you're not bounded to SSRS, PowerBI (http://powerbi.com/) is great for authoring reports in the cloud.

Can you use Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express to manage a Google Cloud SQL database instance?

My organisation is looking to create a cloud database which can be queried by customers and managed/accessed by 5-6 people within the organisation, to supercede an old rusty access database.
Currently we are familiar with the environment of Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express and have transferred most of our information into a local SQL Server.
Having researched cloud server options online, Amazon RDS for SQL Server seemed to be a good contender but Google Cloud SQL Server seems cheaper for a database of our (really rather small) database.
The question is: can we still use Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express to administer and update our database on Google Cloud? Apparently Google Cloud works like MySQL, which is different from the SQL Server as Microsoft uses as I understand it?
Any insights/experiences much appreciated!
Google Cloud SQL offers MySQL database only. Microsoft SQL server management tools will not work with it. If you're tied to SQL server, Microsoft Azure might be a better option.

Need to select best Azure service to access on-premises sql database

I have a business scenario where web site and SQL database will be on cloud and after some operations want to save the cloud SQL data to the SQL database which is on-premises and not exposed to the internet.
What would be the best architecture for this scenario?
Need suggestions.
you can either setup a VNET to connect your Website to your on-premises SQL Server or you can configure Azure Hybrid Connect. (see this link)
If the website does not use local resources you can always go for azure websites. Choose the tier based on the requirement.
As far as the database is concerned you choose azure sql database. ( tier based on requirement-size and performance) . You can set up azure sql sync (in preview) to sync between sql azure and local sql server. Or you can take a back up of sql azure db - bacpac. and then restore it local sql server using sql management studio.

How to migrate existing .net web site and sql server 2005 database to azure platform

HI,
I want to migrate the existing application using sql server 2005 database to windows azure and sql azure.
We has access to the Azure developer portals: Windows Azure ,Microsoft SQL Azure and AppFabric
Is there any documentation to help the migration of existing web application to windows azure and migration of the sql server 2005 database to sql azure and integrating them.
Regards,
Pravin
If your app is "just" managed code and SQL 2005, then the migration can be quite straightforward.
There are a few "gotcha's" in SQL (a few missing items from SQL Azure) but overall 80% of the move can be quite pleasant :)
These's quite a lot of information available on migration from Microsoft - articles like http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/ff872379.aspx
I'd recommend you start with just a few "Hello World" experiments to get familiar with the tools, then try moving bits of your platform across.
