ng-class binding in kendo menu - angularjs

i'm trying to bind a CSS class to a button of a kendo menu :
Here is my code for the menu :
{
id: "button_grille_tri",
type: "splitButton",
menuButtons : $scope.liste_recherche,
click: function(e){
$scope.rechercheColonnes(e);
}
},
it's a part of the menu which works.
Here is the instanciation of the liste_recherche variable :
for(var i=0;i<$scope.siagridColumns.length;i++){
$scope.liste_recherche.push({
cssClass : "champ_recherche",
attributes: {"ng-class": "{'tick_recherche':tickActivation("+"'"+$scope.siagridColumns[i].id+ "'"+ ")}"} ,
text : $scope.siagridColumns[i].header, id : $scope.siagridColumns[i].id });
}
tickActivation is a function that return a boolean :
$scope.tickActivation = function(id){
return $scope.etats[id];
};
i have tried several things :
1) if i replace ng-class by class, the class is working but not dynamically
2) i put the ng-class into the text part with the good format, and it didnt worked no matter the quotes issues, i tried all the possibilities
3) even if i replace tickActivation(...) by true it doesnt work.
4) i have put a $scope.$apply into another :
$scope.rechercheColonnes = function(e){
if ($scope.colonnesTri.length == $scope.siagridColumns.length){
$scope.colonnesTri =[];
}
var compteur = 0;
for (var i=0;i<$scope.colonnesTri.length;i++){
if ($scope.colonnesTri[i] == e.id)
compteur++;
}
if(compteur == 0){
$scope.colonnesTri.push(e.id);
}
$scope.etats[e.id] = true;
$scope.$apply();
}
and with that $apply, i can see that tickActivation is used on each click on the menu, with the good argument and a fine return. But there is no binding and the ng-class doesnt work... i havent find any answers on any documentation / community.
At least, thank you for reading the post, i hope someone will find the solution.

AngularJS addClass isn't working

I have been trying to addClass through AngularJS and the code doesn't seem to work, weird thing is addClass is working on Parent Menu Item but doesn't work on Sub item.
I have a nested UL and LI, when I click on the Parent LI ParentLi function gets called and it adds a "focused" class to the Clicked LI, this works fine but when I click on Nested LI's I call childLi and I do the same operation as done for the Parent but class doesn't get added. I am new to Angular and I hope I am doing this in the right way.
$scope.parentLi = function(event) {
var liElement = angular.element(event.target.parentNode);
var allParentLiElements = document.getElementsByClassName('parent-dropdown');
if (!liElement.hasClass('focused')) {
angular.element(allParentLiElements).removeClass('focused');
liElement.addClass('focused');
} else
liElement.removeClass('focused');
};
$scope.childLi = function(event){
var liElement = angular.element(event.target.parentNode);
var allParentLiElements = document.getElementsByClassName('child-dropdown');
if(!liElement.hasClass('focused')){
angular.element(allParentLiElements).removeClass('focused');
$(event.target).closest('.parent-dropdown').addClass('focused');
liElement.addClass('focused');
} else
liElement.removeClass('focused');
}
Note that i have edited my jsfiddle code based on the answer given by Jiam30.
adding focused class should work like active class i.e the menu that i just clicked should have focused class other should not, same way if i have hover on menu item and click on subitem, both the subitem and the parent item should have focused class.
Fiddle
Manipulating elements in a controller should be avoided.
Use ng-class instead (also use ng-repeat to avoid HTML repetition). For instance:
<li class="dropdown parent-dropdown" ng-click="parentLi()" ng-class="{'focused': isDropdownFocused}"></li>
With this function in the controller:
$scope.parentLi = function() {
$scope.isDropdownFocused = !$scope.isDropdownFocused;
};

Add custom message (not error) under under combobox/text field

I'm new to extjs and I'm looking for a way to add some custom message under my combobox field.
Depending on some conditions (eg. value selected) the message needs to have different text and/or style.
I could play with errorEl associated with my combobox and change it's message/style depending on the state, but this doesnt look like a good approach.
Are you aware of any plugin allowing to add such a message, or is there a shorter way to do this?
Thank you for your suggestions. I ended up writing my own plugin, which then I attached to combobox.
I added new element after error element and I changed messages based on proper combobox events.
afterCmpRender : function() {
var me = this, cmp = me.getCmp();
var messageWrapper = {
tag : 'div'
};
var messageEl = cmp.errorEl.insertSibling(messageWrapper, "after");
cmp.messageEl = messageEl;
Ext.Array.each(me.messages, function(message) {
var messageConfig = {
tag : 'div',
style : {
display : 'none'
}
};
var newElement = messageEl.insertSibling(messageConfig, "after");
newElement.setHTML(message.value);
newElement.addCls(message.classes);
me.registerMessageEvents(me, cmp, message, newElement);
});
}
I almost always use multiple elements for this, and would not make an attempt to change the field.
Depending on your context, which you didn't provide, I'd say you could have a look at:
Ext.form.field.Display
Ext.form.Label
Ext.tip.Tip
Ext.tip.QuickTip
I'd work with the class Ext.tip.Tip.
You can create
Ext.create('Ext.tip.Tip', {
id: 'myTip',
header: false
});
and then
var tip = Ext.getCmp('myTip');
tip.update('your custom tip message');
tip.showBy(comboboxComponent);
You could also use showAt(..) instead of showBy.

wait for backbone template to be appended to the dom

I am trying to bind events to elements that are placed by appending a backbone template:
appendEditTemplateAndSetEvents: function() {
var associatedCollection = App.Helpers.findAssociatedCollection(this.allCollections, this.associatedCollectionId);
var template = this.setEditTemplateForElement(associatedCollection.type);
var modalBody = this.$el.find('.modal-body');
modalBody.empty();
var firstModel = associatedCollection.at(0);
if(template.mainTemplate !== null) {
modalBody.append($('#edit-form-element-frame').html());
//each mode in collection
associatedCollection.each(function(model){
if(model.get('positionInContainer') === 1) {
firstModel = model;
}
console.log(model.attributes);
modalBody.find('.elements-in-editmodal-wrapper').append(template.mainTemplate(model.toJSON()));
});
}
if( template.templateValidation.length !== 0 ) {
modalBody.append('<hr><h3>Validateregels</h3>');
_.each(template.templateValidation, function(val, index) {
modalBody.append(val(firstModel.toJSON()));
});
}
//set listeners and handlers that apply when a edit modal is open
this.validationEventsForEditModal(firstModel);
this.editErrorMessagesInModal(firstModel);
},
Now the problem is that when the last two functions are called the html of the templates isn't appended yet so the the events are binded to an object with a length of 0.
Does anyone have a decent solution for this async problem? I tried $.Defferred but that did not work, but maybe someone get's it working.
I solved this by using this.$el.find(...) in the functions:
this.validationEventsForEditModal(firstModel);
this.editErrorMessagesInModal(firstModel);
I don't know if it's still an async problem, but this solves it.

Add class to elements for values of attribute with Backbone.ModelBinder

I'm using Backbone.ModelBinder in a Backbone.js Marionette project. I've a scenario which I can't work out how to use ModelBinder to automatically update my model/UI.
My model has a 'status' string attribute, with multiple states. In this example I'll show the code for two: 'soon', 'someday'
In my UI I have a list on which I use click events to set the model status, and update classes to highlight the relevant link in the UI.
<dd id="status-soon"><a>Soon</a></dd>
<dd id="status-someday" class="active"><a>Someday</a></dd>
events: {
'click #status-soon': 'setStatusSoon',
'click #status-someday': 'setStatusSomeday'
},
setStatusSoon: function () {
this.model.set('status', 'soon');
this.$el.find('.status dd').removeClass('active');
this.$el.find('#status-soon').addClass('active');
},
... etc
It feels like I doing this a long-winded and clunky way! The code bloat increases with the number of states I need to support. What's the best way of achieving the same outcome with ModelBinder?
You could probably simplify things with a data attribute, something like this:
<dd data-status="soon" class="set-status"><a>Soon</a></dd>
<dd data-status="someday" class="set-status active"><a>Someday</a></dd>
and then:
events: {
'click .set-status': 'setStatus'
},
setStatus: function(ev) {
var $target = $(ev.target);
var status = $target.data('status');
this.model.set('status', status);
this.$el.find('.status dd.set-status').removeClass('active');
$target.addClass('active');
}
You might not need the set-status class, just keying things on the <dd>s might be sufficient; I prefer separating my event handling from the nitty gritty element details though.
Unfortunately, it is going to be pretty difficult to do exactly what you want with ModelBinder. The main reason being that ModelBinder wants to provide the same value for all elements that are part of a single selector. So doing this with ModelBinder, while possible, is going to be pretty verbose as well.
The cleanup offered by mu is likely to be better than trying to use ModelBinder. 1) because you need a click handler to do the this.model.set no matter what and 2) you would need individual bindings for ModelBinder because the converter function is called once for a single selector and then the value is set on all matching elements (rather than looping through each one).
But if you do want to try and do something with ModelBinder it would look something like this:
onRender : function () {
var converter = function (direction, value) {
return (value == "soon" ? "active" : "");
};
var bindings = {
status : {selector : "#status-soon", elAttribute : "class", converter : converter}
};
this.modelBinder.bind(this.model, this.el, bindings);
}
This would do what you want. Of course the down side as I said above is that you will need multiple selector bindings. You could generalize the converter using this.boundEls[0] but you will still need the separate bindings for it to work.
In case you want to access to the bound element, it is possible to declare 'html' as elAttrbute, modify the element and return its html with converter function:
onRender : function () {
var converter = function (direction, value, attribute, model, els) {
return $(els[0]).toggleClass('active', value === 'soon').html();
};
var bindings = {
status : {
selector : "#status-soon",
elAttribute : "html",
converter : converter
}
};
this.modelBinder.bind(this.model, this.el, bindings);
}

Add class to DIV if checkbox is checked onload

I need help with a script to add an "active" class to a div when a hidden checkbox is checked. This all happening within a somewhat complex form that can be saved and later edited. Here's the process:
I have a series of hidden checkboxes that are checked when a visible DIV is clicked. Thanks to a few people, especially Dimitar Christoff from previous posts here, I have a few simple scripts that handle everything:
A person clicks on a div:
<div class="thumb left prodata" data-id="7"> yadda yadda </div>
An active class is added to the div:
$$('.thumb').addEvent('click', function(){
this.toggleClass('tactive');
});
The corresponding checkbox is checked:
document.getElements("a.add_app").addEvents({
click: function(e) {
if (e.target.get("tag") != 'input') {
var checkbox = document.id("field_select_p" + this.get("data-id"));
checkbox.set("checked", !checkbox.get("checked"));
}
}
});
Now, I need a fourth ( and final ) function to complete the project (using mootools or just plain javascript, no jQuery). When the form is loaded after being saved, I need a way to add the active class back to the corresponding div. Basically reverse the process. I AM trying to figure it out myself, and would love to post an idea but anything I've tried is, well, bad. I thought I'd at least get this question posted while I work on it. Thanks in advance!
window.addEvents({
load: function(){
if (checkbox.checked){
document.getElements('.thumb').fireEvent('click');
}
}
});
Example: http://jsfiddle.net/vCH9n/
Okay, in case anyone is interested, here is the final solution. What this does is: Create a click event for a DIV class to toggle an active class onclick, and also correlates each DIV to a checkbox using a data-id="X" that = the checkbox ID. Finally, if the form is reloaded ( in this case the form can be saved and edited later ) the final piece of javascript then sees what checkboxes are checked on page load and triggers the active class for the DIV.
To see it all in action, check it out here: https://www.worklabs.ca/2/add-new/add-new?itemetype=website ( script is currently working on the third tab, CHOOSE STYLE ). You won't be able to save/edit it unless you're a member however, but it works:) You can unhide the checkboxes using firebug and toggle the checkboxes yourself to see.
window.addEvent('domready', function() {
// apply the psuedo event to some elements
$$('.thumb').addEvent('click', function() {
this.toggleClass('tactive');
});
$$('.cbox').addEvent('click', function() {
var checkboxes= $$('.cbox');
for(i=1; i<=checkboxes.length; i++){
if(checkboxes[i-1].checked){
if($('c_'+checkboxes[i-1].id))
$('c_'+checkboxes[i-1].id).set("class", "thumb tactive");
}
else{
if($('c_'+checkboxes[i-1].id))
$('c_'+checkboxes[i-1].id).set("class", "thumb");
}
}
});
// Add the active class to the corresponding div when a checkbox is checked onLoad... basic idea:
var checkboxes= $$('.cbox');
for(i=1; i<=checkboxes.length; i++){
if(checkboxes[i-1].checked){
$('c_field_tmp_'+i).set("class", "thumb tactive");
}
}
document.getElements("div.thumb").addEvents({
click: function(e) {
if (e.target.get("tag") != 'input') {
var checkbox = document.id("field_tmp_" + this.get("data-id"));
checkbox.set("checked", !checkbox.get("checked"));
}
}
});
});
