I've recently upgraded my Xampp environment to v3.2.2 of the software. I have the same versions running on 2 different machines using the same configuration for both environments.
By the same configuration, I mean that I got the software working the way I wanted on one machine, shut down Xampp, zipped up the folder, and copied that folder over to the other machine where it started right up. I do not use the Xampp installer, I download the full zip file.
Here is a list revised configuration files for both machines:
paths are relative to Xampp folder.
apache/conf/httpd.conf
apache/conf/extra/httpd-xampp.conf
php/php.ini
php/pear.bat
php/pciconf.bat
php/bin/my.ini
phpMyAdmin/config.inc.php
setup_xampp.bat
The issue I'm having is that the same database that imports through the same version of phpMyAdmin works on one machine and not the other.
To no avail, I tried adding this line of code to the phpMyAdmin config file.
$cfg['ExecTimeLimit'] = 0;
That was recommended in this thread:
Giving script timeout passed on database import
I'm running 2 versions of Xampp. That is all working fine. Interestingly, the same database will import on the offending machine without timing out on Xampp v3.2.1. I use the same configurations for that version of Xampp too.
Could this have something to do with MariaDB? The older version of Xampp used mySQL.
I can work around the issue, for now, but I'd sure appreciate solving the mystery of why I can import on one machine and not the other.
Thanks, in advance, for any helpful replies.

On every upgrade of PgAdmin 4 (currently at version 1.5), we lost all our server definitions as well as other config details. Quite annoying when one has to deal with a dozen servers :)
I have not been able to find where the server definitions are stored so to try making a copy before installing the new version.
Any idea?
Server definitions and other configurations of pgAdmin4 are stored at,
Linux/Mac:
~/.pgadmin/pgadmin4.db
Windows:
C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\pgAdmin\pgadmin4.db
Make a copy of this file somewhere and paste it again at the same location after installation is complete and you are good to go.
Hi can someone provide detailed installation steps to install Oracle data integrator 11g or 12c on my mac book pro. I am very new to Mac and I am a business analyst, so would appreciate if you could be specific in giving the instructions.
ODI can be run in OS X.
Today I have installed ODI 12c2.1.3 version in my macbook pro.
For sure, there is no information is available to fix the issues. I hope this will help others.
As we know the default installation directly doesn't work. I have done some changes in default configurations and lib. I am running setup on jdk8. I am assuming you have already installed ODI
Changes you have to made is as follows
odi.conf
File Path - <Oracle Home>/Middleware/Oracle_Home/odi/studio/bin
Append the below lines to odi.conf
AddVMOption -Dswing.defaultlaf=com.apple.laf.AquaLookAndFeel
AddJavaLibFile ../extensions/oracle.odi.navigator.12/lib/jide-common.jar
Download the latest jidesoft demo zip from http://www.jidesoft.com/products/download.htm
Link I have used - http://www.jidesoft.com/products/1.4/jide_demo.zip
extract the zip file and rename the file to jide-common.jar and copy it to location
<Oracle Home>/Middleware/Oracle_Home/odi/studio/extensions/oracle.odi.navigator.12/lib
After this go to
cd <Oracle Home>/Middleware/Oracle_Home/odi/studio/bin/
./odi -verbose
You should not see any error.
As this jidesoft jar is an evaluation version. you should follow their terms and conditions.
ODI Studio 11g can be installed on Mac OS X by downloading the Oracle Data Integrator Companion. I'm not sure it's the most reliable way to use ODI though.
You will first need that you have the right version of Java installed. You can check on the certification matrix and if needed install a new JDK.
Then unzip the companion archive, browse to the studio folder, unzip the other archive in there, browse to oracledi/client and start odi.sh. There might be a dialog box asking for the location of the JDK on the first start.
ODI Studio 12c doesn't run on OS X so far.
If the goal is just to try ODI and quickly learn it, I actually would rather recommend to download the free ODI Getting Started Virtual Machine that runs on Virtual Box. Everything will already be set up with an Oracle database, Golden Gate and much more.
I download jdeveloper studio edition and install it in C:\Oracle\Middleware
then I install weblogic instance using C:\Oracle\Middleware\wlserver_10.3\common\bin\config.exe
to C:\myproject\domains\myweblogic
Then download DMS_11.1.0.0.0_WINDOWS.zip and install it to C:\Oracle\Middleware\Mobile.
thereafter cant start
C:\Oracle\Middleware\Mobile\Mobile\Server\bin\runmobileserver.bat
unless i change the variable to this batch file
set DOMAIN_DIR=C:\myproject\domains\myweblogic
what do I do next to see that it works?
is there a simple example that creates a sigle table and synchronized between server and mobile clients?
very difficult to find information on this technology. interfere very popular tags (Oracle, Database).
If you install Database Mobile Server directly in the WebLogic directory, you will not need to edit the batch file. For instance, I believe the default install directory is:
C:\Oracle\Middleware\wlserver_10.3
So if you used the default install directory, you would install Database Mobile Server there, with no added 'Mobile' or other directory. If you chose to install WebLogic elsewhere, then replace the above with that directory.
There is another small issue to be aware of.
The installer will give you warning about installing in a non-empty
directory. You should click through the warning. This is a known issue
documented in the Release Notes.
Regarding your other question about a demo, there is a Java demo found in
<MOBILE_HOME>\Mobile\Server\demos\consolidator_api
You will need to download a client and perform a sync, which is documented here:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E22663_01/doc.11100/e22681/instsqlite.htm#BABGAACI
I hope that helps, good luck with your project. Let me know if you have further questions.
Eric Jensen, Oracle PM
I've been doing php before but as usual,I used mysql as a database. So everything seems easy when using xampp.
Now, for some reason I am required to use Oracle as the database but after installing Oracle database 10g on my pc, I can't seem to start apache from the control panel at all! When I press start, instead of it being started it goes back to the stopped state. I tried making it a service and starting it from, it pops out an error.
What is making this conflict, I can use IIS to do this but I prefer xampp so I'm eager to make this thing work.
Does anyone know whats the conflict? Is it the port?
I know how to configure the oracle extension and all with php to get it to work, but I am just confused why apache can't be started when oracle db 10g is installed.
Hope someone can help me out.
I just had this problem with startup.pl not starting (according to the log files), so I went into xampp\apache\conf\httpd.conf and editted out this include line by putting a hash (or pound as it is called in the states) (#) in front of it:
Perl settings
Include "conf/extra/httpd-perl.conf"
it seems to work now and I have now got oracle and apache working on my machine.
Im not sure if there will be any problems later on because of removing the line, but I don't think I need to use anything perl related so hopefully it will be fine
Sounds like platform is Windows. Oracle has the habit to alter the PATH setting, system wide. There is also an Apache installation in the Oracle installation. Maybe you can tweak the Apache service to use the Oracle Apache installation. Otherwise, make sure that your Apache start service does not have ORACLE_HOME or sub-directories of ORACLE_HOME/bin in the PATH. The services that Oracle installs normally are not on the standard ports so it's not very likely that it is a port conflict.
Im using a mac. Xampp stopped working after the latest update 10.6.8 and I think it may be a direct result of the update. Anyway, Id like to reinstall xampp however i didnt backup my database and i cant get into localhost/phpmyadmin to import it. Is there anyway I can backup my database another way and reinstall xampp? or is there another problem as to why the pages dont load.
I get this error when i go to localhost/phpmyadmin: The requested URL /phpmyadmin was not found on this server.
When you use XAMPP, it automatically freezes all the other database. If you are using mysql, you can backup them either using
1.mysqladmin tool (http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/gui-tools/5.0.html)
directly login as the admin and select the databases that you need and backup.
or
2.using command line (manual backup):
goto mysql/bin and then follow this tutorial: http://linux.byexamples.com/archivesc/90/backup-and-restore-mysql-database/
When you uninstall xampp, the databases (in var/mysql) and the htdocs folders are not normally deleted by the uninstall wizard. When you reinstall xampp, those existing folders will be used. It's also a good idea to back up those folders directly to reduce the risk of loss.
