unwanted additional title area is added on all screen - codenameone

All of a sudden I noticed unwanted title area component on top of all forms.
It was not available before today and suddenly it appears on every form.
I also noticed that additional component on real device too.
Any help would be appreciated.

This is the dropshadow for the TitleArea UIID. We mentioned this in the blog here:
We just updated the library with our last ad hoc release, starting
next week we will release libraries every Friday and occasionally also
a plugin update within that same proximity. We made some refinements
to some Android theme elements and one of those refinements is a new
TitleArea drop shadow.
This effectively creates a situation where we can’t reasonably detect
an empty title and so if you want the title to truly disappear you can
either:
Set the TitleArea border attribute to empty
Do something like form.getToolbar().setUIID("Container")

Quill JS | Implement multi page functionality

I am trying to implement multipage functionality with quill. I want to fix the height of each page, and when user reaches the end of page, instead of editor height to grow or scrollbar to appear, I want cursor to go to next page(editor), similar behaviour as observed in Google Docs or Microsoft word document.
I have already added 2 editors in the view, but not having any idea on how to switch to new page as cursor reaches the end of first page.
i come straight from google trying to figure out something similar with quill and as far as i know and as far as i came while researching this specific topic:
to me it seems as if its not possible with multiple editors since as soon as the user wants to select paragraphs/elements over a multi page span you'd have to figure out how to
make the selection actually possible (try to select content over a span of two div elements which both are "contenteditable"-enabled, which was one of my first tries kinda).
spread the selection on multiple editors (you'd have to keep track of how much the user selected and when and how far the selection is within which editor which is kinda tricky)
execute an action over multiple editors which will be especially hard since there is no thing as "shared toolbar" yet (as far as i know)
so i really hope (🙏) the time helped you to find an sharable 🤲 solution to this but as far as i built up my knowledge about quill so far (which is a bit over a few weeks old now).
what i will try in the near future is to add a new module to show a page break and style all other elements accordingly to simulate the look of a page.

MS PowerPoint CheckBox remains linked when slide is duplicated

Hoping you can help me as I have searched a lot of forums and did not find the same question, never mind the answer I need :)
I have a power point pack which I have put together. It is built to be a template for my team to use repeatedly and is set up using slide masters to control the layout. Each layout slide in the slide master includes two checkboxes to identify either a pass or a fail. My problem is that when you insert a new slide (by either duplicating an existing slide or adding a slide from the slide master layout), and change the checkbox value it also changes on the other slide. Is there a way either using some quick VBA or otherwise to stop this from happening and break the link between the two slides.
Any help would be really appreciated.
In a weird way, this is reasonable behavior from PowerPoint, though it certainly does seem bizarre.
Shapes on a master layout appear on any slide based on that layout. Though they appear on the slide, they're not editable on the slide; it's as though the slide were a clear layer above the layout, one that you can add more stuff to but that you can't "penetrate" to get at the stuff on the layout below.
Placeholders are a special case and so, apparently, are ActiveX controls like your checkboxes, which DO allow editing. So what's happening is that when you change a text box, you're changing the text box on the layout, not on the slide itself (the checkbox doesn't even exist on the slide ... you can't select and move it in normal view, for example, unless you go to the layout in Master view).
When you change the checkbox, you're changing the one on the layout, and since the checkboxes appear on any slide based on the layout, when you change the checkbox, you're changing the one on the layout, ALL of the slides based on that layout get the changed checkboxes.
Some mildly tricky VBA could look at each slide and if it's based on the layout that contains the checkboxes, COPY them to the current slide from the layout and finally make the checkboxes on the layout invisible.
The simpler solution might be to supply a sample slide with the checkboxes ON the slide and let the users copy/paste it into their presentations.
[later]
I've reported this to MS as not so much a bug as a design oversight; the behavior may make sense, but it's not useful and can mislead users (as you well know).
I'd suggest that you visit https://powerpoint.uservoice.com and suggest that ActiveX objects on masters/layouts behave more like placeholders ... spawn new instances of themselves when a new slide based on the layout is added rather than letting the user THINK that's what's happened.

Why doesn't CodenameOne Picker show chosen list items after GUI Builder?

I am beginning to learn cn1 and am having a bit of an issue in the new GUI builder. It seems that when I add list items (text) to a picker in the GUI builder and save, they do not appear afterwords in the simulator.
If I go back to the GUI builder, they are still under listed items.
Does this mean the GUI build is only the face of the app, and all items must be added later in code, or am I doing something wrong?
I see the problem, it's a regression in the Picker class. It was caused because of a fix to a different problem. I fixed this in this commit https://github.com/codenameone/CodenameOne/commit/03f82ece7500d4ad57c8f30825fb401431adf798
The fix will be available next week. In the meantime as a workaround you can go into the source code of the form. You would need to expand folded code if it's folded and you would see code similar to this:
gui_Picker.setPropertyValue("Strings", new String[]{"Red", "Green", "Blue", "Yellow"});
gui_Picker.setType(4);
Just copy the setPropertyValue line and paste it in the second constructor under the initGuiBuilderComponents(resourceObjectInstance); line.
The bug is that the setType call erases the value.

Ext.js 4.x Dock-able window as tab

Has anyone seen an implementation or plugin for extjs where you can "pull off" or "dock" tabs/windows the way you can with a browser? Is it even possible?
Searching has not revealed much but I did come across a proposed solution in an older version:
http://www.sencha.com/forum/showthread.php?16842-Dockable-floatable-panels-in-ExtJS
#DmitryB
To clarify, in chrome if I have multiple tabs in the same window like so:
And I "drag" one of the tabs, it pops off into a new window:
I imagine you might accomplish this by moving the content of the tab panel into a window but not sure how to go about it.
In a nutshell:
- Make the tabs draggable, watch for the drag event and mark the
tab-strip as your "safe" zone
- When a tab is dragged and then "dropped" (as in, the drag event ends) you do a check:
> Is the tab within the safe area?
No: Create a new Ext.Window at the x/y of the mouse, copy the components/HTML
out of the original panel and insert them into the new window. Destroy the
original panel.
Yes: Do nothing.
Unfortunately, I am still quite jaded from learning D&D in ExtJS3, so I can't offer any help with this and real code pertaining to ExtJS 4, however the concept seems relatively straightforward to me. I would say you're going to probably want to do your best to NOT have this be flashy - unless you REALLY REALLY need to, I wouldn't worry about showing the panel's contents while you drag the tab - much less show the panel itself. Just let the tab element get dragged around the screen and copy when it's released outside of the safe zone.

Style a button to match the current theme for the expand/collapse button on a TreeView

As you know, the built-in themes all define styles for the standard controls such as the TreeView control. We're trying to create something that looks an awful lot like a TreeView but isn't actually one, nor is it a subclass of one. It just has parts that we want to look like one for consistency.
For instance, our control too has a selected item whose background we'd love to match to the appearance of the background for the selected item in a TreeView (or more accurately the TreeViewItem) for the current theme. (You can't simply use highlight color as the themes have nice gradient brushes and borders, not just a solid brush.) Same with our expand/collapse togglebuttons. We want them to look just like the ones used in a TreeView for the current theme. (i.e. Sometimes a triangle, sometimes a box with a '+' in it, etc.)
Now while we can simply rip open Expression and copy the styles ourselves (or at least the parts that we need), we'd have to do that for each and every theme that MS provides. Plus, that wouldn't handle newer themes. And in a purest standpoint, that's duplicate styling information which just sits wrong with me.
Also, if someone styles the actual TreeView(Item), we want to pick it up as well. Since the parts that we want to style are required parts of a TreeView, we feel pretty confident that they're in there somewhere style-wise.
Not even sure what I want to do is possible but if anyone knows, they're most likely here on SO!
Yet another question close to a month old without even a comment. Very odd for the SO community to not chime in at least once! Guess it's not possible.
Well, what we ended up doing was using 'Show Me The Template' (Google it) to get the templates for the part (we don't have Expression), then manually managing them ourselves instead of using the built-in styles. NOT at all what we wanted to do since we don't know of a way to get the nice gradients that are defined in the system already without duplicating them, but the end result does match perfectly so there's that. As such, this too is getting marked as the answer. I'll gladly change it if someone else actually gives me one that works (or is close enough! Just need something people! Feel like I'm posting in a vacuum here!
