Angular uigrid export selected produces empty csv - angularjs

I have a uigrid that contains a large number of column definitions that aren't initially filled with data because the data set would be too large. Instead, I get the requested column data when the column visibility changes.
This causes an issue with the built in csv exporter. When someone chooses to "Export all data as csv" they get numerous empty columns.
So I've made my own implementation as follows:
$interval( function() {
gridApi.core.addToGridMenu( gridApi.grid, [{
title: 'Export All to CSV',
order: 1,
action: function ($event) {
var myElement = angular.element(document.querySelectorAll(".custom-csv-link-location"));
$scope.gridApi.exporter.csvExport( uiGridExporterConstants.ALL, uiGridExporterConstants.VISIBLE, myElement );
}
}]);
gridApi.core.addToGridMenu( gridApi.grid, [{
title: 'Export Selected to CSV',
order: 2,
action: function ($event) {
if(gridApi.grid.selection.selectedCount > 0){
var myElement = angular.element(document.querySelectorAll(".custom-csv-link-location"));
$scope.gridApi.exporter.csvExport( uiGridExporterConstants.SELECTED, uiGridExporterConstants.VISIBLE, myElement );
}
}
}]);
gridApi.core.addToGridMenu( gridApi.grid, [{
title: 'Export Visible to CSV',
order: 3,
action: function ($event) {
var myElement = angular.element(document.querySelectorAll(".custom-csv-link-location"));
$scope.gridApi.exporter.csvExport( uiGridExporterConstants.VISIBLE, uiGridExporterConstants.VISIBLE, myElement );
}
}]);
}, 0, 1);
Export All to CSV and Export Visible to CSV work as expected, but Export Selected just creates an CSV file with only headers, no data.
I know the grid is aware of the selection, the following returns the elements that are selected to the console:
gridApi.core.addToGridMenu( gridApi.grid, [{
title: 'Export Selected to CSV',
order: 2,
action: function ($event) {
if(gridApi.grid.selection.selectedCount > 0){
var myElement = angular.element(document.querySelectorAll(".custom-csv-link-location"));
$scope.gridApi.exporter.csvExport( uiGridExporterConstants.SELECTED, uiGridExporterConstants.VISIBLE, myElement );
console.log(gridApi.selection.getSelectedRows());
gridApi.selection.getSelectedRows().forEach(function (entry) {
console.log(entry);
for (var e in entry){
console.log(entry[e]);
}
});
}
}
}]);
I suppose I could use the data returned by getSelectedRows to make my own CSV, but I'd rather not. Is uiGridExporterConstants.SELECTED broken?

I "fixed" it using the public API and some of my own hacking:
gridApi.core.addToGridMenu( gridApi.grid, [{
title: 'Export Selected to CSV',
order: 2,
action: function ($event) {
if(gridApi.grid.selection.selectedCount > 0){
var uiExporter = uiGridExporterService;
var grid = $scope.gridApi.grid;
uiExporter.loadAllDataIfNeeded(grid, uiGridExporterConstants.ALL, uiGridExporterConstants.VISIBLE).then(function() {
var exportColumnHeaders = uiExporter.getColumnHeaders(grid, uiGridExporterConstants.VISIBLE);
var selectionData = [];
gridApi.selection.getSelectedRows().forEach(function (entry) {
var innerData = [];
for (var e in entry){
if (e !== '$$hashKey') {
var selectObj = {value:entry[e]};
innerData.push(selectObj);
}
}
selectionData.push(innerData);
});
var csvContent = uiExporter.formatAsCsv(exportColumnHeaders, selectionData, grid.options.exporterCsvColumnSeparator);
uiExporter.downloadFile($scope.gridOptions.exporterCsvFilename, csvContent, grid.options.exporterOlderExcelCompatibility);
});
}
}
}]);
Not the prettiest solution, but it works.

ExtJS -- dynamically generate checkboxes

I have a checkbox group which will have a dynamic number of checkboxes. The backend returns data containing the label and the input value. I loop these records and generate a checkbox object for each one. But when I pass the generated array into the items array, nothing happens.
Here are snippets of my checkbox group class.
Ext.define("MyApp.view.form.field.CheckboxGroup",{
extend:"Ext.form.CheckBoxGroup",
...
...
initComponent:function(){
this.items = getCheckboxes();
...
this.callParent(arguments);
},
getCheckboxes:function(){
Ext.Ajax.request({
url:"blah/getcheckboxes",
scope:this,
success:function(resp_){
var resp = Ext.JSON.decode(resp_.responseText);
var checkboxesArr = [];
if(resp.data){
for(var i=0; i<resp.data.length; i++){
checkboxesArr.push({boxLabel:resp.data[i].label, inputValue:resp.data[i].id, ....});
}
}
return checkboxesArr;
});
/*return checkboxesArr = [
{boxLabel: 'Yes', name: this.name, inputValue: 'Y'},
{boxLabel: 'No', name: this.name, inputValue: 'N'}
];*/
}
If I uncomment the static checkboxesArr with the 2 checkboxes and return that instead it works, but it doesnt work with the checkboxesArr generated with the backend response.
Thanks
The ajax call is asynchronous so you can add the items instead:
getCheckboxes: function () {
Ext.Ajax.request({
url: "data1.json",
scope: this,
success: function (resp_) {
var resp = Ext.JSON.decode(resp_.responseText);
var checkboxesArr = [];
if (resp.data) {
for (var i = 0; i < resp.data.length; i++) {
checkboxesArr.push({
boxLabel: resp.data[i].label,
inputValue: resp.data[i].id
});
}
}
this.add(checkboxesArr);
}
});
}

Sort backbone collection in specific order of enum sequence

I am having my backbone collection as below:
var model1 = new Backbone.Model({mode: 'EX'});
var model2 = new Backbone.Model({mode: 'AB'});
var model3 = new Backbone.Model({mode: 'DF'});
var model4 = new Backbone.Model({mode: 'AB'});
var model5 = new Backbone.Model({mode: 'DF'});
var model6 = new Backbone.Model({mode: 'AB'});
var myCollection = new backbone.Collection([model1,model2,model3,model4,model5, model6]);
Now I want this collection to be sorted in some business order, let say all models having 'DF' mode first then all models having 'AB' mode second and lastly models with mode 'EX'.
Required Output
/*my Collection.models should contains array of models in following sequence
after sorting */
[model3, model5, model2, model4, model6, model1]
I have another java script object based on which I will be deciding this sequence of modes. e.g.
var enum = {
1: 'DF',
2: 'AB',
3: 'EX'
}
So here string sorting is not useful. Can somebody suggest how can I write comparator on my backbone collection to accomplish this sorting
You need to extend default Backbone.Collection with a custom comparator:
var priority= ['DF', 'AB', 'EX'];
var Collection = Backbone.Collection.extend({
comparator: function(a, b) {
return priority.indexOf(a.get('mode')) > priority.indexOf(b.get('mode'));
}
});
var myCollection = new Collection([{
mode: 'EX'
}, {
mode: 'AB'
}, {
mode: 'DF'
}, {
mode: 'AB'
}, {
mode: 'DF'
}, {
mode: 'AB'
}]);
console.log(myCollection.pluck('mode'));
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/underscore.js/1.8.3/underscore-min.js"></script>
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/2.1.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/backbone.js/1.3.3/backbone-min.js"></script>
or with an object map:
var priority = {
1: 'DF',
2: 'AB',
3: 'EX'
}
var Collection = Backbone.Collection.extend({
comparator: function(a, b) {
var i = _.findKey(priority, function(val) {
return val === a.get('mode')
});
var j = _.findKey(priority, function(val) {
return val === b.get('mode')
});
return i > j;
}
});
var myCollection = new Collection([{
mode: 'EX'
}, {
mode: 'AB'
}, {
mode: 'DF'
}, {
mode: 'AB'
}, {
mode: 'DF'
}, {
mode: 'AB'
}]);
console.log(myCollection.pluck('mode'));
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/underscore.js/1.8.3/underscore-min.js"></script>
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/2.1.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/backbone.js/1.3.3/backbone-min.js"></script>
I would flip the enumerator so you can index it easily.
var enumerator = {
DF: 1,
AB: 2,
EX: 3
};
var YourModel = Backbone.Model.extend({
defaults: {
mode: ''
}
});
var YourCollection = Backbone.Collection.extend({
model: YourModel,
comparator: function(m) {
return enumerator[m.get('mode')];
}
});
var yourCollection = new YourCollection([
{ mode: 'EX' },
{ mode: 'AB' },
{ mode: 'DF' },
{ mode: 'AB' }
]);
console.log(yourCollection.pluck('mode')); // ["DF", "AB", "AB", "EX"]

I am using the "_onClickExport" function that I read about here to export my grid data to CSV but when I execute that function, it can't find ElementId "grid_box", although I have defined it.
I was able to export with your code after making these changes:
line 31, change to
if (this.down('#grid_box')){
line 52, change to
var table = that.getComponent('grid_box');
where that is defined on the top of _onClickExport
var that = this;
line 57, and a similar line below it, replace table.innerHTML.match with table.getEl().dom.outerHTML.match
Ext.Array.each(table.getEl().dom.outerHTML.match

Loading grid only after "all" the data stores have loaded

I have this code that loads a data store for all stories that contain each of the names from an array.
var prefix_set = [list of names]
for(var i=0;i<prefix_set.length;i++)
_get_stories_of_feature(prefix_set[i]) //this function creates a data store
I am storing all the data into a global array and creating a data store which is passed to a grid in the end. The problem is that my grid loads up with incomplete data (the grid loads up even before all the data has been loaded into the global array).
Here's my code:

Please take a look at the code in this post, where Mark uses promises, and builds three separate Rally.data.wsapi.Stores and only after all the data is there _makeGrid(resultArray) is called.

In the async.map callback function, when setOfStories are returned, I try to map the name, fid, and objectID to a new array. But for some reason, the fid: story.get("Feature").ObjectID gives an error saying get("") is null. But just before returning the array, when I console log story.get("Feature").ObjectID the correct value is printed, but somehow when I try to return the same value, it generates an error.
The field on HierarchicalRequirement for its PI parent is called PortfolioItem (since the PI types are customizable- feature just happens to be the default name of the lowest level one).
story.get('PortfolioItem').ObjectID
