Apache camel route from kafka to another kafka topic on error - apache-camel

I am using Apache Camel to consume messages from kafka topic and then process the message, while processing if an exception occurs, I redirect that message to another kafka topic and process that in separate route. so I have a route something like below.
from ("kafka1").process("someProcessor").end();
onException(Throwable.class).process(exchange->{exchange.getIn().setBody("Message with error details")}).to("kafka2");
Above code is actually sending the error message in same kafka (kafka1).
I solved this by setting exchange.getIn().setHeader(KafkaConstants.TOPIC,"kafka2")) in onException process. Is this expected behavior? why would it ignore kafka2 and use kafka1 instead?
Version of camel used - 2.14.0
Kafka endpoint URLs:
Consumer:
from("kafka:" + ("kafka.broker") + "?topic="
+ ("offer.kafka.topic")
+ "&zookeeperHost=" + ("kafka.zookeeper.host")
+ "&zookeeperPort=" + ("kafka.zookeeper.port")
+ "&groupId=" + ("offer.kafka.group.id")
+ "&consumerStreams=" + ("kafka.streams")
+ "&autoCommitIntervalMs=" + ("product.kafka.consumer.auto.commit.intervals")
+ "&zookeeperConnectionTimeoutMs=" + ("zookeeper.connection.timeout")
+ "&rebalanceMaxRetries=" + ("kafka.rebalance.max.retries")
+ "&rebalanceBackoffMs=" + ("kafka.rebalance.backoffs.ms")
+ "&zookeeperSessionTimeoutMs=" + ("zookeeper.session.timeout")
+ "&autoOffsetReset=" + ("kafka.auto.offset.reset")
+ "&fetchMessageMaxBytes=" + ("kafka.fetch.message.max.bytes")
+ "&socketReceiveBufferBytes=" + ("receive.buffer.bytes"))
.routeId("offerEventRoute").to("direct:offerEventRoute");
Producer:
to("kafka:" + ("error.kafka.broker") + "?topic="
+ ("error.kafka.topic")
+ "&zookeeperHost=" + ("error.kafka.zookeeper.host")
+ "&zookeeperPort=" + ("error.kafka.zookeeper.port")
+ "&groupId=" + ("error.kafka.group.id")
+ "&zookeeperConnectionTimeoutMs=" + ("error.zookeeper.connection.timeout")
+ "&rebalanceMaxRetries=" + ("rebalance.max.retries")
+ "&rebalanceBackoffMs=" + ("rebalance.backoffs.ms")
+ "&zookeeperSessionTimeoutMs=" + ("zookeeper.session.timeout")
+ "&autoOffsetReset=" + ("auto.offset.reset")
+ "&messageSendMaxRetries=" + ("error.max.retries")
+ "&serializerClass=kafka.serializer.StringEncoder"
);

You need to set the bridgeEndPoint to true in your producer kafka end point. Otherwise it looks for the topic name in the exchange headers and uses that as the topic name for the producer also.
By default it is false.

Can you please provide few more details about the code like,
1) Version of camel used
2) Your Kafka endpoint URL.
By any chance are you using 'bridgeEndpoint' attribute in your endpoint URL..

In addition to user.config, the folder contains another file named a2rx2s4u.newcfg.
The user running the application has full control on the folder.
The application is run on a Windows 2019 Server with Citrix XenApp.
I've logged the activity of the app with Sysinternals Process Monitor. As far as I understand, the application tries to rename a2rx2s4u.newcfg to user.config replacing the existing user.config, and that seems to fail:

Unfortunately, I don't have a 32-bit Windows at hand, and as the application is x86, Process Explorer cannot resolve symbols.
It might be interesting that the stack trace contains "Sfrhook.dll" which is the "Citrix Special Folder Hook DLL". I think this DLL implements Special Folder Redirection in Citrix.
According to the Windows Error Codes reference, the error code 0xC0000369 means STATUS_INVALID_DEVICE_OBJECT_PARAMETER:
The device object parameter is either not a valid device object or is not attached to the volume that is specified by the file name.
I do not understand this - the source and the target of the rename is in the same directory.
How to further narrow down this problem?
[EDIT1]
The user profile seems to reside in an FSLogix profile container:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fslogix/configure-profile-container-tutorial
When using Profile Container, both applications and users see the profile as if it's located on the local drive.
[EDIT2]
We now have another customer which experiences the same problem.
This time: No Citrix, but "Windows 10 Enterprise multi-session" - also uses FSLogix Profile Containers.
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-desktop/windows-10-multisession-faq
We have found that in server 2019 it required the UAC virtualization setting needed to be disabled for user level writes. Using Process Monitor, we found that when the error occurred, it wrote to a UAC event log. For legacy applications this issue occurs when the user.config file is being copied from the "user.newcfg" file that is just a temporary file the the .NET code creates.

Apache Camel: How to download multiple files from SFTP with Premove, Move and MoveFailed options?

I have two file names in following format:
Gontagrator_1.xml
Gontagrator_2.xml
As of now i am picking just Gontagrater_1.xml and rename it to processing and failed once done.
+ "&fileName=" + sftpFileName
+ "&preMove="+sftpFileName+".$simple{date:now:yyyy-MM-dd'T'hh-mm-ss}.processing"
+ "&move="+sftpFileName+".$simple{date:now:yyyy-MM-dd'T'hh-mm-ss}"
+ "&moveFailed="+sftpFileName+".$simple{date:now:yyyy-MM-dd'T'hh-mm-ss}.failed"
Now Gontagrator_2 comes into picture. It is suggested to create separate routes for both.
Can we download both in one route and rename accordingly? If yes, what values i need to pass?
Update1: There are multiple files with different names but i need to use both above file names only
update 2: Whole from component is:
"{{m.protocol}}://{{m.hostname}}{{t.directory}}"
+ "?username={{m.username}}"
+ "&password={{m.password}}"
+ "&download=true"
+ "&useList=false"
+ "&stepwise=false"
+ "&disconnect=true"
+ "&passiveMode=true"
+ "&reconnectDelay=10000"
+ "&bridgeErrorHandler=true"
+ "&delay=30000"
//+ "&fileName=" + sftpFileName
+ "&include="+ sftpFileName
+ "&preMove=$simple{file:onlyname}.$simple{date:now:yyyy-MM-dd'T'hh-mm-ss}.processing"
+ "&move=$simple{file:onlyname}.$simple{date:now:yyyy-MM-dd'T'hh-mm-ss}"
+ "&moveFailed=$simple{file:onlyname}.$simple{date:now:yyyy-MM-dd'T'hh-mm-ss}.failed"
+ "&readLock=idempotent-changed"
+ "&idempotentRepository=#infinispan"
+ "&readLockRemoveOnCommit=true")
.onException(GenericFileOperationFailedException.class)
.onWhen(exchange -> {
Throwable cause = exchange.getException(GenericFileOperationFailedException.class).getCause();
return (cause != null && cause.toString().equalsIgnoreCase("2: No such file"));
}).handled(true)
.logExhausted(true)
.logExhaustedMessageHistory(true)
.log("Could not find file")
.end()
.log("Downloading xml file")
//.to(archiveReceivedFile(sftpFileName))
.split(body().tokenizeXML("ERequest", "ERequests")).streaming()
.inOnly(E_QUEUE)
Yes, you can download all files in one route.
You need to
Remove fileName option (such that the route will pick all file)
Use file expression language (file:onlyname) to refer to filename currently handled by Camel SFTP component
+ "&preMove=$simple{file:onlyname}.$simple{date:now:yyyy-MM-dd'T'hh-mm-ss}.processing"
+ "&move=$simple{file:onlyname}.$simple{date:now:yyyy-MM-dd'T'hh-mm-ss}"
+ "&moveFailed=$simple{file:onlyname}.$simple{date:now:yyyy-MM-dd'T'hh-mm-ss}.failed"
Use include option to control file to be picked up (REGEX to match file name pattern)
+ "&include=Gontagrator_(1|2)\.xml"

I am not able to fetch response from server in ReactJS (SOAP). I tried using both fetch and XMLHttpRequest

I am trying to integrate fedex api's into ReactJS or rather NextJS Application. So far I have tried using fetch and XMLHttpRequest. Below is the code that I tried using XHR:

XHR.send(soapData)
I get different HTTP error for e.g. (405, 501, 400). Along with this I am getting CORS error which is as follows:
Access to XMLHttpRequest at 'https://wsbeta.fedex.com/web-services' from origin 'http://localhost:3000' has been blocked by CORS policy: Response to preflight request doesn't pass access control check: It does not have HTTP ok status.
For CORS I have tried mode cors in fetch request and with XHR I have set header to Access-Control-Allow-Origin as *, but I am still getting the same error.
I have also installed the extension from chrome web store which has solved the CORS problem yesterday but today I am again facing the same. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the extension already.
I have also tried adding
Any help would be appreciated.

Not able to access MSSQL analysis services cubes

I am using the following code to access mssql analysis services cubes from java using OLAP4j 1.1.0

You should check what's being sent back by the server, using WireShark or something similar. This kind of error happens when the XML parser tries to parse the response it got. The server is probably not sending XML content back.

XMPP implementation in silverlight authentication returns failure

I am trying to implement Xmpp protocol in silverlight and trying to connect to Facebook, here I am getting everything correct until <challenge .. > obtained from server.
I am using X Facebook platform authentication.
I have done this with following code:
byte[] ch = Convert.FromBase64String(message.challenge);
string challenge = System.Text.Encoding.UTF8.GetString(ch, 0, ch.Length);
string response = "";
long callId = DateTime.UtcNow.Ticks;
MD5 md = new MD5();
String signature1 = "api_key=203366556348506"
+ "call_id=" + callId
+ "method=auth.xmpp_login"
+ param[2]
+ "session_key=" + messageClient.SessionKey
+ "v=1.0"
+ messageClient.AppSecret;
md.Value = signature1;
response = "method=auth.xmpp_login&api_key=203366556348506&session_key=bc6d6e00462cc2bb73a824bd.4-100001565408667&call_id=" + callId + "&sig=c47d741cb8f18c4e78b990f48e2f63aa&v=1.0&" + param[2];
message.Request = "<response xmlns=\"urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:xmpp-sasl\">" + Convert.ToBase64String(System.Text.Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(response)) + "</response>";
this.messageClient.SendMessageAsync(message);
But I am getting following message from server:
<failure xmlns="urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:xmpp-sasl"><not-authorized/></failure>
Please let me know where I am going wrong.
Try following code:
String signature1 = "api_key=" + messageClient.ApiKey
+ "call_id=" + callId
+ "method=auth.xmpp_login"
+ param[2]
+ "session_key=" + messageClient.SessionKey
+ "v=1.0"
+ messageClient.AppSecret;
md.Value = signature1;
response = "method=auth.xmpp_login&api_key=" + messageClient.ApiKey + "&session_key=" + messageClient.SessionKey + "&call_id=" + callId + "&sig=" + md.FingerPrint.ToLower() + "&v=1.0&" + param[2];
I have changed response string to the one above.
This has returned success for me. Hope this will help you.
