The google map zoom and marker are not working - maps

I don't know why the marker and zoom is not working and here is the code:
function initialize() {
if (document.getElementById("themap") != null) {
$.post("http://localhost/projects/php/invoice/getmapinfo.php", {
postalcode: $("#postalcode").html()
},
function(data, status) {
if (data == "-1" || data == "-2" || data == "-3") {
} else {
var apos = data.split(',');
var myCenter = new google.maps.LatLng(parseFloat(apos[0]), parseFloat(apos[1]));
var mapProp = {
center:myCenter,
zoom:10,
mapTypeId:google.maps.MapTypeId.ROADMAP
};
var map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById("themap"),mapProp);
var marker = new google.maps.Marker({
position:myCenter,
});
marker.setMap(map);
}
}
);
}
}
$(document).ready(
function() {
$(document).ajaxStop(
function(){
initialize();
}
);
The map will show up but its is static. Do I need to get a key or not because it is run on my internal web server for me only or am I missing a step.
Thanks if you can help.

Display more than 100 markers in angularjs google maps with rotation

I have been using ngMap with my angularjs code for displaying markers. However, with more than 100 markers I have noticed that there is a considerable decrease in performance mainly related to ng-repeat and two way binding. I would like to add markers with custom HTML elements similar to CustomMarker but using ordinary Markers and modified from controller when required.
Challenges faced :
I have SVG images which need to be dynamically coloured based on the conditions (These SVGs are not single path ones, hence doesn't seem to work well when I used it with Symbol)
These are vehicle markers and hence should support rotation
I have solved this by creating CustomMarker with Overlay and then adding the markers that are only present in the current map bounds to the map so that map doesn't lag.
Below is the code snippet with which I achieved it.
createCustomMarkerComponent();
/**
* options : [Object] : options to be passed on
* - position : [Object] : Google maps latLng object
* - map : [Object] : Google maps instance
* - markerId : [String] : Marker id
* - innerHTML : [String] : innerHTML string for the marker
**/
function CustomMarker(options) {
var self = this;
self.options = options || {};
self.el = document.createElement('div');
self.el.style.display = 'block';
self.el.style.visibility = 'hidden';
self.visible = true;
self.display = false;
for (var key in options) {
self[key] = options[key];
}
self.setContent();
google.maps.event.addListener(self.options.map, "idle", function (event) {
//This is the current user-viewable region of the map
var bounds = self.options.map.getBounds();
checkElementVisibility(self, bounds);
});
if (this.options.onClick) {
google.maps.event.addDomListener(this.el, "click", this.options.onClick);
}
}
function checkElementVisibility(item, bounds) {
//checks if marker is within viewport and displays the marker accordingly - triggered by google.maps.event "idle" on the map Object
if (bounds.contains(item.position)) {
//If the item isn't already being displayed
if (item.display != true) {
item.display = true;
item.setMap(item.options.map);
}
} else {
item.display = false;
item.setMap(null);
}
}

CustomMarker.prototype.addClass = function (className) {
var classNames = this.el.className.trim().split(' ');
(classNames.indexOf(className) == -1) && classNames.push(className); /* jshint ignore:line */
this.el.className = classNames.join(' ');
};
CustomMarker.prototype.removeClass = function (className) {
var classNames = this.el.className.split(' ');
var index = classNames.indexOf(className);
(index > -1) && classNames.splice(index, 1); /* jshint ignore:line */
this.el.className = classNames.join(' ');
};
CustomMarker.prototype.onAdd = function () {
this.getPanes().overlayMouseTarget.appendChild(this.el);
// this.getPanes().markerLayer.appendChild(label-div); // ??
};
CustomMarker.prototype.draw = function () {
this.setPosition();
this.setZIndex(this.zIndex);
this.setVisible(this.visible);
};
CustomMarker.prototype.onRemove = function () {
this.el.parentNode.removeChild(this.el);
// this.el = null;
};
} else {
setTimeout(createCustomMarkerComponent, 200);
}
}
The checkElementVisibility function helps in identifying whether a marker should appear or not.
In case there are better solutions please add it here.Thanks!

Localstorage is working for first time. If I refresh page at second it is working fine

I am using AngularJS local storage. I am facing an issue with local storage. At first when page is loaded the localstorage is assigning with null value. If I refresh at second time localstorage value is setting fine. I don't know what the issue.
My code is.
var app = angular.module('EntityApp', ['ngRoute', 'slickCarousel']);
app.controller('EntityAppCntroller', function($scope, $http, $window) {
if (localStorage.getItem('IsNewPinSet') != 1) {

} else {

}
};

function showPosition(position) {
var latitude;
var longitude;
latitude = position.coords.latitude;
longitude = position.coords.longitude;
localStorage.setItem('latitudeHome', latitude)
localStorage.setItem('longitudeHome', longitude)
var geocoder = new google.maps.Geocoder();
var latlng = new google.maps.LatLng(latitude, longitude);
geocoder.geocode({

}
}
}
} else {

}
}
});
};
}

I have added markers to my videojs player. I want to jump to start time of every marker every time I click a particular button (say a next button). How should I do this. Google maps need to show list of addresses -setimout slow and OVER_QUERY_LIMIT issue

Hi everyone i have a bout 500 addresses or so to be listed in Google maps , each address being grabbed from a filemaker database than grouped under a category person(employee name in the map) i'm using a function to geocode and i'm calling it every 10th time with a 10 sec
setimout, the problem is:
1- the page is very very slow with settimeout 10sec when you have to show 500 addresses( addresses can change any second never fixed addresses) is there a better way?
2- even with settimout set to call every 10 seconds, i still get sporadically OVER_QUERY_LIMIT , why does that happen, 10 seconds is along time.
here is the code:
<pre><script type="text/javascript">
var mapOptions = {
//center:myLatLng,
//zoom:15,
mapTypeId: google.maps.MapTypeId.ROADMAP
};
var map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById("map-canvas"),

I'm trying to learn firebase/angularjs by extending an app to use firebase as the backend.
My forge looks like this
.
In my program I have binded firebaseio.com/projects to $scope.projects.
How do I access the children?
Why doesn't $scope.projects.getIndex() return the keys to the children?
I know the items are in $scope.projects because I can see them if I do console.log($scope.projects)
app.js
angular.module('todo', ['ionic', 'firebase'])
/**
* The Projects factory handles saving and loading projects
* from localStorage, and also lets us save and load the
* last active project index.
*/
.factory('Projects', function() {
return {
all: function () {
var projectString = window.localStorage['projects'];
if(projectString) {
return angular.fromJson(projectString);
}
return [];
},
// just saves all the projects everytime
save: function(projects) {
window.localStorage['projects'] = angular.toJson(projects);
},
newProject: function(projectTitle) {
// Add a new project
return {
title: projectTitle,
tasks: []
};
},
getLastActiveIndex: function () {
return parseInt(window.localStorage['lastActiveProject']) || 0;
},
setLastActiveIndex: function (index) {
window.localStorage['lastActiveProject'] = index;
}
}
})
.controller('TodoCtrl', function($scope, $timeout, $ionicModal, Projects, $firebase) {
// Load or initialize projects
//$scope.projects = Projects.all();
var projectsUrl = "https://ionic-guide-harry.firebaseio.com/projects";
var projectRef = new Firebase(projectsUrl);
$scope.projects = $firebase(projectRef);
$scope.projects.$on("loaded", function() {
var keys = $scope.projects.$getIndex();
console.log($scope.projects.$child('-JGTmBu4aeToOSGmgCo1'));
// Grab the last active, or the first project
$scope.activeProject = $scope.projects.$child("" + keys[0]);
});
// A utility function for creating a new project
// with the given projectTitle
var createProject = function(projectTitle) {
var newProject = Projects.newProject(projectTitle);
$scope.projects.$add(newProject);
Projects.save($scope.projects);
$scope.selectProject(newProject, $scope.projects.length-1);
};
// Called to create a new project
$scope.newProject = function() {
var projectTitle = prompt('Project name');
if(projectTitle) {
createProject(projectTitle);
}
};
// Called to select the given project
$scope.selectProject = function(project, index) {
$scope.activeProject = project;
Projects.setLastActiveIndex(index);
$scope.sideMenuController.close();
};
// Create our modal
$ionicModal.fromTemplateUrl('new-task.html', function(modal) {
$scope.taskModal = modal;
}, {
scope: $scope
});
$scope.createTask = function(task) {
if(!$scope.activeProject || !task) {
return;
}
console.log($scope.activeProject.task);
$scope.activeProject.task.$add({
title: task.title
});
$scope.taskModal.hide();
// Inefficient, but save all the projects
Projects.save($scope.projects);
task.title = "";
};
$scope.newTask = function() {
$scope.taskModal.show();
};
$scope.closeNewTask = function() {
$scope.taskModal.hide();
};
$scope.toggleProjects = function() {
$scope.sideMenuController.toggleLeft();
};
// Try to create the first project, make sure to defer
// this by using $timeout so everything is initialized
// properly
$timeout(function() {
if($scope.projects.length == 0) {
while(true) {
var projectTitle = prompt('Your first project title:');
if(projectTitle) {
createProject(projectTitle);
break;
}
}
}
});
});
I'm interested in the objects at the bottom
console.log($scope.projects)
Update
After digging around it seems I may be accessing the data incorrectly. https://www.firebase.com/docs/reading-data.html
Here's my new approach
// Load or initialize projects
//$scope.projects = Projects.all();
var projectsUrl = "https://ionic-guide-harry.firebaseio.com/projects";
var projectRef = new Firebase(projectsUrl);
projectRef.on('value', function(snapshot) {
if(snapshot.val() === null) {
console.log('location does not exist');
} else {
console.log(snapshot.val()['-JGTdgGAfq7dqBpSk2ls']);
}
});
$scope.projects = $firebase(projectRef);
$scope.projects.$on("loaded", function() {
// Grab the last active, or the first project
$scope.activeProject = $scope.projects.$child("a");
});
I'm still not sure how to traverse the keys programmatically but I feel I'm getting close
It's an object containing more objects, loop it with for in:
for (var key in $scope.projects) {
if ($scope.projects.hasOwnProperty(key)) {
console.log("The key is: " + key);
console.log("The value is: " + $scope.projects[key]);
}
}
ok so val() returns an object. In order to traverse all the children of projects I do
// Load or initialize projects
//$scope.projects = Projects.all();
var projectsUrl = "https://ionic-guide-harry.firebaseio.com/projects";
var projectRef = new Firebase(projectsUrl);
projectRef.on('value', function(snapshot) {
if(snapshot.val() === null) {
console.log('location does not exist');
} else {
var keys = Object.keys(snapshot.val());
console.log(snapshot.val()[keys[0]]);
}
});
$scope.projects = $firebase(projectRef);
$scope.projects.$on("loaded", function() {
// Grab the last active, or the first project
$scope.activeProject = $scope.projects.$child("a");
});
Note the var keys = Object.keys() gets all the keys at firebaseio.com/projects then you can get the first child by doing snapshot.val()[keys[0])
