Can you test foreign language strings like Arabic or Russian? - angularjs

My website has the ability to be viewed in different languages. Is it possible to use sendKeys with a var that looks like this:
var arabic = "صباح الخير
I have tried using:
element(by.css(...)).sendKeys(arabic);
however question marks are the only characters sent to the text box.
Is this possible?

From Protractor point of view, if you see only ??? in input or whatever you are filling the extended chars in, it is probably a bug in that webpage, because generally sendKeys('باح الخير') works absolutely fine.
By the way, silly question, but have you tried pasting those extended chars to input directly, without protractor?

Is it possible to output formated text in a text file?

I`m working at a little text editor. My application is a winapi one in C. The idea is to write text in a large textbox(like in notepad) and then when I press a button it will take all text into a buffer, format it after some rules and then put it in a .txt file.
For example, if my input is:
Anne \red(got) \blue(\bold(apples)) and \italic(\bold(snails!))
After I parse it, it`s possible to put it into a .txt file and after I open it to see it like this?
I want to thank everyone for their time. I got exactly what answer I wanted. Everyone here rocks
I think that you are programming for fun, just for the pleasure of it, and with the perspective of learning more. If that is the objective, then it is okay to invent your own formats and essay your own solutions.
The problem presented can be twofold:
does the format results need to be shown in the editor itself?
or do you just need to do something that is going to be rendered in an external program?
If you are after the first possibility, then you need some Win32 (given your environment) component that will show the formatting. That component is RichEdit, and it implements RTF, a codification that can be saved to a text file, and which is more or less standard.
If you have the second possibility in mind, then you can choose from a variety of codifications. You would just be creating a text editor, probably with some helpers that write part of the commands for the user. For example, you could be creating a HTML editor, or a RTF editor.
There is a third possibility, though. You create your own codification, and when saving, you translate that codification to HTML, and then open the document in a web browser.
Say that you have:
\bold(hello), world.
You would translate that to:
<html><body><b>hello</b>, world.</body></html>
The possibilities, as you can see, are inifinite.
Hope this helps.

format document WebPage via Windows Forms Application?

So, I'm building a windows forms application that uses a StreamReader/StreamWriter to read each line of the .aspx, .ascx and .master pages on our asp.net website. It then removes certain properties and such from the controls through string manipulation, and writes the result back (overriding the page's markup with the edited markup). The problem is some of these pages are being written as one continuous line.
I've been unable to find anyway to call the visual studios 'Format Document' function. I found this question that would likely accomplish my goal if I weren't trying to do this from my Windows Form Application (as it's an automated process).
Any tips or points in the right direction would be appreciated.
A quick-and-dirty-solution would be (and I don't recommend it):
content = content.Replace("></", ">></").Replace("><", ">\n\t<").Replace(">></", "></");
content is the string that holds the web content.
First and last replacements are to avoid the second replacement to add newlines between something like this <tag></tag>. The above code of course has some flaws. Something like <tag1><tag2 /></tag1> will not be formatted correctly. You could avoid this by pre-replacing /></ with something you can safely re-replace at the end.
You may also want to replace \n with \r\n perhaps.

Excel: apply conditional formatting if cell contains one of x strings

What I'm trying to do should be quite simple but I am getting error messages saying that conditional formatting doesn't accept this method.
So I am looking for a fix or an alternative.
What I have is a list of search texts for phone faults
screen broken
wifi not working
bluetooth dead
the dooflip isnt working
etc.
I have also set up a number of common keywords
screen
wifi
bluetooth
By comparing these two we can see that the last one doesn't adhere to any of my common keywords, and so I want it highlighted/ copied somewhere etc. so I can view and take any action.
So far I have attempted to set up conditional formatting to search the terms for the keywords and if it doesn't contain any then highlight it.
=ISERROR(SEARCH({"wifi", "bluetooth", "screen"},$H$117))
When using this I get informed that conditional formatting does not support arrays (it works fine if I only specify one search term).
If i create a table with all the keywords in and use the following it works, however it will only find direct mataches, and wont search for the word in the cell string
=ISERROR(MATCH(<cell_to_change_colour_of>, <keyword_table>,0))
So is there another way of doing this?
my answer requires MOREFUNC addon*
=REGEX.COMP(A1,"wifi|bluetooth|screen",FALSE)
this will return true if any of the words appear anywhere in cell A1. FALSE in the formula stipulates that it is not case sensitive.
Unfortunately due to Excell's stupid rules it will not work directly in Conditional Formatting box. You will need to place it in a helper column, and point the conditional formatting rule to that column.
MOREFUNC ADDON
Morefunc Addon is a free library of 66 new worksheet functions.

AngularJs Search functionality is not working when more than one special characters

I have implemented Angular Js search functionality in application. When I have enter more than one special characters for example '!#' it will display all the results.I think the exclamation character is the problem. How can I resolve this? In their demo site is also not working.http://docs.angularjs.org/api/ng.filter:filter
source can find from their site.
See you are working somewhat wrong, because it allows you to have the multiple special characters search, but in your case you are using "!#" it means not include all those result having "#" in it.
So, if you choose to have "#*" it will show you to get all the result having these characters together.

Sublime Text 2: Different language highlighting based on context? (a la Webstorm)

I was watching some videos on Egghead.io about AngularJS. The creator of the videos uses Webstorm (and, I believe, works for them). One feature I noticed is that he can set different syntax highlighting within different scopes or quotation marks. So, in code like the following (from an AngularJS directive)
return {
template: '<div>something</div>',
// ^^^ these guys ^^^
}
...he can get the inside of the quotation marks to highlight as HTML.
I use Sublime Text 2, and am fairly wedded to it. Is there an existing feature/plugin for Sublime that could handle a case like this? If not, is something like this technically possible using the Sublime Text 2 API?
I don't think it's built in, but it's certainly possible. I've been doing some work with graphviz and wanted to do something similar. Labels can be generated with html like syntax. Anyways, I played around with the .tmLanguage file and added a new pattern to match the context where html like entries were valid (I look for label = <). The patterns I used for the captures aren't that good, but it works for fine for me. This give me the following, which I think is similar to what you are looking for.
I don't know anything about AngularJS, so I can't help you with anything specific to that, but it is certainly possible. Note that in the image below, the last <table></table> are just to show that highlighting doesn't occur there.
Edit:
Forgot to include this in the original post, but here is my updated tmLangauage file. That first pattern is what I added(link). I used PlistJsonConverter to go from JSON to plist, then saved the file as .tmLanguage. Hope this helps.
#skuroda is right, I implemented #skuroda's code with an additional plugin to easily edit HTML within an AngularJS directive JS file. The result is HTML syntax highlighting within a directive JS file and additional functionality to remove string related delimiters while editing templates.... Sublime AngularJS HTML Template Plugin
