I have a problem where after a weekly activity report is run, there could be updates to an activity. But after the report has been run again the update information is not shown on the report.
I have created the reports in report wizard.
My filter criteria:
Activities
Activity Status Equals Completed;Open;Scheduled
AND Start Date Last Week
Customers
Modified On Last X Days 30
I have tried
Clearing the filtered criteria.
Deleting the report.
Re-uploading the report.
Refreshing the Webpage.
Could this be something on the Report Server Side?
Like clearing the cache?
How would I clear the cache?
Thanks
When you say the updated information isn't shown on the report, you're saying that it only displays the original information at all times?
It depends on what browser you are using to clear your cache, but this site makes it pretty easy to figure it out. Refresh Your Cache

I used MWS scratchpad to schedule Order Reports with the _15_MINUTES_ schedule, I thought that every 15 minutes, a new order report will be created and I can download it, however, only 1 report has been created (I changed the IDS for public display)
<ReportInfo>
<ReportType>_GET_ORDERS_DATA_</ReportType>
<Acknowledged>false</Acknowledged>
<ReportId>2456744422183913</ReportId>
<ReportRequestId>12543213592</ReportRequestId>
<AvailableDate>2019-10-04T09:20:24+00:00</AvailableDate>
</ReportInfo>
So how do I get new orders, is it that every 15 minutes, the same report will be updated with the new orders? will I never ever have to schedule order reports after this? I'm not clear on how it works.
I'm using the python3 mws API for my work if it helps.
Any help would be appreciated.
Have a look at this: What you should know about the Amazon MWS Reports API section, if you haven't already.
A new report will be generated at the time interval you specified. It will be a completely new report with a different id. You can query GetReportRequestList for the status and then when the report is ready, call GetReport with the ReportID from the previous step.
Your schedule should be indefinite. Check to make sure your report is schedulable and see if there are restrictions on how often you can request it.
I need to pass a current date variable dynamically to SSRS subscription subject. Is it possible when using standard subscription ?
I know it may be obtained using data-driven subscription but then I get report sent as many times as number of rows in the report, and I only need the report to be sent once.
I just need to have something like "Report XXX, #GETDATE()" in subject.
Is it possible to also set dynamic report name in Excel file sent using the SSRS subscription ?
You can obtain the Execution Time of the report using #ExecutionTime, see this link. However, you want to make sure the execution time represents when the report was rendered or when the subscription processed the report, I am sure it is the former and it could be problematic for snapshot/cached reports. For non-cached reports this should be the current date outside of the edge case of crossing midnight server time.
I'm having some issues with a report deployed to an SSRS 2016 server.
When the report is run in IE, Edge or previewed in VS it returns the correct result (some sales data for the current month), but when the same report is run in Chrome it returns values for the whole year.
I've searched for thoroughly for a resolution but was unable to find anything. I did find a few posts here and elsewhere regarding compatability issues between Chrome and SSRS 2016, but the resolutions (using various Chrome extensions), did not work. Using an extension is not really the solution that I want, as I'm more concerned about users viewing reports in Chrome and seeing incorrect results.
Additional info:
+This is a report I have inherited and did not design.
+Report has a number of parameters, some hidden, some not.
+Report contains 18 datasets.
+There are some textboxes with actions in the report, each of which execute the report with different parameters (eg last quarter, YTD).
+When certain actions are executed, the report returns the below error. This only happens when using Chrome.
An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
Cannot read the next data row for the dataset ConversionRates. >(rsErrorReadingNextDataRow)
For more information about this error navigate to the report server on the >local server machine, or enable remote errors
+The dataset described in the above error is not the same every time the report is run.
What I've tried already:
+Various Chrome extensions (more as a test than a solution), these made no difference.
+Searching this site / Google for suggestions but to no avail.
What I would like to achieve:
I would like to know how I can ensure that the correct results can be
returned in Chrome for any user, without having to perform any action
on each user's machine.
I realize this is not much to go on, but I'm hoping someone else has encountered the same error. I suspect it's something to do with rendering in Chrome but I can't figure it out, so any suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks v much
We've been successfully using SSRS auto refresh (SQL Server 2008R2) on a variety of clients over the years and never had any problems. Various combinations of Chrome and IE on various OSs (windows XP, 7 and 10) have all been fine. We've just deployed a new report to run in full screen mode on TV screens, and it seems to be PARTIALLY refreshing. The Globals!ExecutionTime displays accurately, but new rows (INSERTs in the source data) in the report's tablix do not show up until the report is manually refreshed. Even more oddly, UPDATEs to the source data seem to make it through the auto refresh process. The problem only seems to occur on these particular clients.
We've set up a report history to help monitor this problem, and it works as expected. In fact it highlights the inconsistency, where newer information is captured in snapshots that were run earlier that the screen autorefresh.
The report execution logs are recording exactly the executions we'd expect to see. The data is just not making it onto the screen.
The report's processing options are:
Always run this report with the most recent data,
Do not cache temporary copies of this report
Any suggestions greatly appreciated :-)
Well we eventually resolved it. The problem turned out to be not exactly as described above. It seems to have been due to unusual combination of several cascading parameters, and a rapidly changing underlying dataset. What would happen, is that:
The SQL behind the cascading parameters would be executed on autorefresh in order to populate each parameter's default values.
During or shortly after this, the source data would change.
Next the final dataset SQL would be executed using the now out-of-date parameter values, and bring back the wrong results.
The solution was to remove four of the five cascading parameters from the report (and the underlying stored procedure). The stored procedure had initially been intended to be widely used and that was the reason for needing all the parameters. Turns out though that it was only used by the report, so as luck would have it we were able to simplify the process.
I'm learning how to use Microsoft SQL server report builder 3.0. I know there is a function in the report called autorefresh. It works when I simply run the report within the report builder. I'm thinking can it still be refreshed after the report is exported.
Another question may related to this autorefresh functionality. When I add dataset into report builder, does it actually load the data into report builder or set up a link between report builder and database? If it sets up a link does that mean when I change something in database, it will reflect on my report builder after I refresh it.
All I want to do is keep the report up to date even after I export it.
Really keen to know the answer.
Thanks in advance.
Make properties visible(View Tab > Check Box View)
Then navigate to report properties(Click on blue space around page). It should say Report in bold at the top of properties.
Expand the Other list and AutoRefresh is the first one.
It's by default set to 0. It's measured in seconds so changing it to 30 will make your report refresh every 30 seconds.
Just so you know, you'll find that even though reportBuilder is the new SSRS(BIDS), it's still very, very similar. So don't feel like you need to always only look at Report Builder only. SSRS tutorials and other facts will be either identical or similar enough to figure it out.
