Vb.Net SQL Server Management Object(SMO) file not found error - sql-server

I have a Vb.Net Windows Forms application, which has a certain feature that enables the user to take backup of database from the front-end of the application. In the back-end, the SMO (SQL Server Management Object) has been used. The development PC of this application has Microsoft SQL Server 2005 installed, but my PC doesn't have SQL Server 2005, rather it has both SQL Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2012.
Whenever I try to run the application from my PC, I get the following error message:
I tried to search for a solution in the internet, but was unable to find a specific one. Most solutions are related to the problem of 'Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo' or 'Microsoft.SqlServer.ConnectionInfo', but as shown in the screenshot, the problem is related to 'Microsoft.SqlServer.SmoEnum'.
So what is the actual reason behind this problem, and what is the exact solution? Is this problem related to the SQL Server version as I suspect?

Services not visible in SQL Server Configuration Manager

I have installed SQL Server 2008 Management Studio Express 32 bit. I have installed it successfully but when I try connect with SQL Server I am getting an error
Then I thought to turn the services ON from SQL Server Configuration Manager but I am not able to see any
Also my SQL Server Configuration Manager shows some corrupt as below:
Download and install SQL Server database engine. Here is the link https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/sql-server/sql-server-downloads
Express edition will be good.
Although this question was posted two years ago, most of the new developers face this problem. I had the same issue and I hope this will help other developers as well.

Unable to connect to SQL Server 2008 R2 from SQL Server Management studio or Toad for SQL Server

I have been Using SQL Server 2008 R2 database for quite sometime. All was working fine till two days back w.r.t connecting the database from SQL Server Management studio. Now if I try to connect, it keeps on connecting and it never shows me connected database in Object Explorer. Same thing happens when I try to connect using Toad for SQL Server.
Image showing connection details
However I am able to connect the same database (which is installed on my local machine) from my peer's SQL Server Management studio and he was able to access that database properly. Also I am able to connect the same database from my web application (which is also installed on my local machine) and also from Eclipse --> Database Development plugin.
I even reinstalled just the SQL Server Management Studio (I haven't uninstalled MSSQLSERVER during this) and tried again, yet it was showing the same result.
Also currently in the client protocols, Shared Memory, TCP/IP and Named Pipes are enabled.
Please let me know if anyone has come across this strange problem and really appreciate your help.

Cannot create New Database in SQL Server 2008

Anyone please give me some ideas what to do next? I have a 2008 SQL Server installed, and try to create a DB on my PC \SQLExpress, however, I come up with the following message:
Cannot write property isfilestream this property is not available on sql server 7.0
Actually I have already enabled this via the properties within Management Studio and via the configuration tool, but the message still pops out...
My computer originally has 2008, but because I cannot access to the local server .\SQLExpress, then I re-downloaded the 2012 SQL Server, and then is able to access to the local server via 2008 SQL management studio. Not sure if this is related to my issue
Thank you so much in advance!

Visual studio 2012 neither able to add database file (.mdf) nor create aspnetdb with Sql Server 2012 x64

I'm using VS Pro 2012 and SQl Server 2012 64 bit developer edition.
Here is a quick view of my SQl configuration and the errors when taking ASP.NET configuration in VS 2012 and when adding a new database.mdf file. Notice that I can connect to SQL server database created with aspnet_regsql tool from Server browser window.
I've tried most of the answers for similar questions I found.
There is a problem with your selected data store. This can be caused
by an invalid server name or credentials, or by insufficient
permission. It can also be caused by the role manager feature not
being enabled. Click the button below to be redirected to a page where
you can choose a new data store.
The following message may help in diagnosing the problem: Unable to
connect to SQL Server database.
Please help me solve the problem with VS 2012. I've tried it with both win7 & win8 installations, but all in vain.
The connection string uses default Data Source=.; and I can connect to default instance . from SQL server Management Studio.

Connection error for sqlserver rake db:migrate

I am getting the following error:
Open
OLE error code:80004005 in Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server
[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.
HRESULT error code:0×80020009
Exception occurred.
I have tried following the directions here with no luck.
Any ideas?
FIXED
My specific issue I believe was related to having to many mixed systems installed on my laptop. I had Visual Studio 2005 and 2008 components and SQL Server Management Standard loaded with SQL Server Express Edition as well as various other components that might have affected the stability of my environment. Once I reloaded Vista and went back through the steps from the link above it worked without issue.
I only loaded the Express Editions of SQL Server and SQL Server Management Studio.
Usually a authentication/permissions error.
Is the SQL Server on the same box as the web server, review the accounts they are running under, and review the type of connection you are making (integrated or otherwise)?
Random guess: By default SQL Server (express, at least anyway) does NOT enable network access. The SQL Admin manager tools connect to it using named pipes, however rails most likely will be trying to use TCP.
