I have following $http call in controller:
see complete code in plunker
$http.jsonp("http://currencyconverter.kund.nu/api/availablecurrencies/?callback=JSON_CALLBACK")
.success(function(data){
console.log('data',data)
})
.error(function(err){
console.log('err',err)//it console err undefined
})
above code console err undefined. means it executing error callback.but when i open chrome network tool, in responses it is showing response data.Why it is like that ?
Your jsonp url should always have one parameter callback=JSON_CALLBACK which you are missing here
$http.jsonp("http://currencyconverter.kund.nu/api/availablecurrencies/?callbak=JSON_CALLBACK")
Update
Seems like server side you had not implemented the logic to wrap returned object inside value of callback, because hit this url in browser console should give array wrap inside JSON_CALLBACK variable
JSON_CALLBACK({..data here})
But it is returning an array
[...data...]
This behavior should be handled on server side.

I have an Iframe tag on a simple HTML page and inside this Iframe tag is a HTML form - lets call it a widget. Its a form where the user can enter search criteria and click on a button to obtain the search results. I have decided to use Angularjs to make the necessary DB calls to a REST service that returns the search results back to the widget for display.
In testing this I enter a value in a textbox on the widget, that value being a value that I know exists in a particular table I'm testing against.
Here is my $http get call:
$http
.get('http://localhost/XXXXService/folder/getfolders/' +
$scope.formData.srchterm **==>** mapped to search textbox
).then(function successCallback(response) {
// this callback will be called asynchronously
// when the response is available
//$scope.formData = response;
//$scope.nrdFolderDataArray = response;
console.log('Success retrieving data.');
console.log(response.length);
console.log('response:');
console.log(response);
}, function errorCallback(response) {
// called asynchronously if an error occurs
// or server returns response with an error status.
console.log('Error occurred retrieving data.');
console.log(response.status);
console.log('returned data count:');
console.log(response.size);
console.log('response:');
console.log(response);
});
This call is inside a function called "submitForm" that is mapped to the widget with a "ng-submit="submitForm()" attribute on the submit button. And yes there are several log statements so I can try and figure out what is going on here. And what is happening is this: after entering a value in the textbox, THE FIRST TIME the search button is clicked the .get command does not work. I does not make the call to the REST service. I know this because I wrote the REST service and made sure I put in plenty of log statements while doing so and there are no log statements in the log file from the REST service. Instead the errorCallback block runs and I see all those log statements in the console. The "response" (object?) after THE FIRST call looks like this:
Object {data: null, status: 0, config: Object, statusText: ""} Method = GET Status = (canceled) type xhr
Further, in FF there is no response data to view in the Net tab of Firebug upon THE FIRST call, but there is response data to view in all subsequent calls.
So, interestingly enough each subsequent invocation of that $http.get call works! I see log statements in the log file from the REST service method and the successCallback block runs and I can see my data via those console.log messages.
Also, if I were to change the search value in the text box, which would then be THE FIRST TIME we would be searching for data for that new key, once again, the call does not work, but does work on subsequent clicks on the "search" button for that new key value.
I really am not sure if I have a CORS issue here since, other than THE FIRST calls each subsequent $http.get call works like a champ. Its just that very first call or first call after the search key has changed that the $http.get does not want to work.
I have tried setting headers in the .get call and I have tried using
#CrossOrigin(origins = "http://localhost/7001") as per
https://spring.io/guides/gs/rest-service-cors/ but I continue to have this issue on the first time invoking this .get call.
I've been dealing with this issue for way too many hours now and would sure appreciate some input as to why this is happening.
I'm sorry for being verbose here. I wanted to explain my issue thoroughly.
Please help.
Thank you

I have some problems with jsonp and AngularJs
I one page, i have to make about 15 json calls, each one by jsonp
My calls look like this :
$http.jsonp("http://www.example.com/feed1.json?callback=JSON_CALLBACK1")
And in my json feed, the data is wrapped by JSON_CALLBACK1
But i always obtain this error :
Uncaught ReferenceError: JSON_CALLBACK1 is not defined
Now i noticed in the network tab in the Google Chrome inspector that the call was :
http://www.example.com/feed1.json?callback=angular.callbacks._0
So i changed my json file, to wrap data with angular.callbacks._0(); instead, and it worked for this one, but it did not work for all my json
I started wraping all my jsons with angular.callbacks._1, angular.callbacks._2, angular.callbacks._3 ... byt i noticed that the number isn't always the same ? and if the number is a two digits, it doesn't work. For example, i tryed angular.callbacks._15, and i always obtain this error
Uncaught ReferenceError: angular.callbacks._15 is not defined
So is there a way to fix all those jsonp problems once for all with AngularJs ?
Thanks
The callback=angular.callbacks._123 parameter is an information for the server that the client (browser) expects the response to be wrapped inside a function named angular.callbacks._123 like so:
angular.callbacks._123({
"key": "value"
});
You should change your server code to inspect the parameter value and if present use it as the wrapping function name.
You can find more details in wikipedia.
I've been pulling my hair out trying to get the $http.json() to properly return a result set of objects. I have locally stored examples of the same response and they work fine.
Can anyone look at this code and tell me what I'm doing wrong? It has to do with returning $http or something in that bit.
Demo: http://plnkr.co/edit/x325wZ4mwi9DNM8tAxgH?p=preview
You seem to have changed your plunker. The first one where you were using $http.jsonp call seems close but with CORs issues it is hard to test - you should definitely check the encoding type of your JSONP returned data is correct. However...
I would structure the $http.get as per the code below. Now that you have dropped $http.jsonp in favour of $http.get, also note that you may now need to explicitly unpack the returned JSON data string into a javascript object via jsonDecode. Lastly you will likely have to unwrap your server response to return just the json payload with no JSON_CALLBACK() wrapper.
var url = 'http://sitesbyjoe.com/angular-tests/typeahead/schools.php?callback=JSON_CALLBACK'
$http.get(url).success(function(data) {
console.log(data);
$scope.schools = angular.jsonDecode(data);
});
i'm using angularJS and SLIM PHP restful server, the PHP service is working and actually i have already used $http.get() with no problems in this application ...
But now a strange thing is happening, i created a new function in the same way that the others, and it get .success(function(data)) with no problems, i actually can console.log(data) and it shows the right results, but when .success() finish and return, i recieve a undefined result.
ps: there is no error in browser console.
var markerOptions = [];
loadMarkers();
console.log(markerOptions);
function loadMarkers() {
$http.get('http://localhost/rest/getMarkers').success(function(response){
console.log(response);
markerOptions = response;
});
}
Console.log() inside success() return the right data
Console.log() after loadMarkers() return undefined
#MarcKline's comments are correct. Anyways, following what I think you're trying to achive by this piece of code of yours, you can assign the returned data from the ajax response to a scope variable (assuming you're using $scope), e.g $scope.markerOptions = response. You can declare markOptions as a scope variable by var $scope.markOptions = [] (...and, of course, log it by console.log($scope.markOptions) accordingly). Also, define $scope.loadMarkers = function() {...} and call it by $scope.loadMarkers()
The scope will be updated as soon as the client-side gets its ajax response.
Hope it helps your current needs in addition to a better understanding of javasciprt's async approach that some of its principles were explained to you by the comments.
My question is similar but not the same as this one.
Here is my fiddle
I'm working with a public resource. I don't think it is jsonp. (the flag they use is pjson which i think, to them , means pretty json).
If i have the method as JSONP it will call out and return but then i get an invalid label error. If i have the method set as GET i get the OPTIONS error in firebug (which i typically associate with cross-domain violations).
Oddly, my app calls out to other external resources without issue - so i'm not sure how it is getting that done and can't do this. Am I SOL if i have no control over this outside resource?
$scope.serviceDesc = layerRes.get();
It looks like you can make JSONP calls to this service you're using by specifying a callback=JSON_CALLBACK in the url parameters when using the $http service, or in your case the $resource service
Have a look at this example that I've written up: http://plnkr.co/edit/7EE85Mr8bZBUroQTp5A9?p=preview
$http.jsonp('http://services.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/World_Physical_Map/MapServer/0?f=json&callback=JSON_CALLBACK')
.success(function(data) {
console.log('The data from their server:');
console.log(data);
$scope.worldPhysicalMap = data;
});
Converting this to use $resource shouldn't be much different.
