Angular JS not loading view in browser - angularjs

I have written my first Angular JS but it is not loading in the browser. When I run the file, I get a blank screen. However when I do away with the script tag, the page renders.
<!doctype html>
<html lang="en" ng-app>
enter code here<head>
<meta charset="UTF-8">
<title>Angular Demo</title>
<script src="lib/angular/angular.min.js></script>
</head>
<body>
<input type="text" ng-model="name">
<h2>Welcome {{name}}</h2>
</body>
</html>

You need to run it on a server to render angular content in browser. Otherwise, as you have faced, a blank page is displayed. Try using node.js for the same.

Angularjs- showing skeleton while loading data

Is there anyway to show skeleton (empty boxes- if I need to load some images and text from background using services) while loading data from api services so that user get a feeling something is happening over instead of showing empty page and dump data once ready.
You can use a simple ng-show, and a loaded variable.
ie
<div ng-show="Controller.loaded"></div>
$scope.loaded = false;
$http.get(...)
.then(...{
$scope.loaded = true;
})
you need ngCloak
there is a plunker however it's too fast to be noticed:
<!doctype html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
<meta charset="UTF-8">
<title>Example - example-ng-cloak-production</title>
<script src="//code.angularjs.org/snapshot/angular.min.js"></script>
</head>
<body ng-app="">
<div id="template1" ng-cloak>{{ 'hello' }}</div>
<div id="template2">{{ 'world' }}</div>
</body>
</html>
try it on your project and see if it helps

Why are the DOM plain html elements rendered only after my Angular APP is done loading?

I am trying to display a plain html/css loading spinner on first load in my Angular APP. The spinner code is included in my index.html.
However, the dom seems not to be rendered until my angularjs APP starts kicking in, causing a very lengthy display of a white screen until this finally happens. Is there any way to prevent that?
I would like to understand how to load my plain html/css spinner right after the css code in the head is done loading so as to improve user experience.
Test on webpagetest.org seem to confirm this diagnosis (the /settings, /introductions, /menus lines are all calls to an external API done by an AngularJS service before render):
Here is a simplified version of my build code:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html ng-app="app">
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8" />
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge, chrome=1" />
<title ng-bind="($title || 'Home') + ' - WalktheChat'">WalktheChat</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="styles/lib.css">
<link rel="stylesheet" href="styles/app.css">
</head>
<body>
<div id="base-container" ng-controller="Shell as main">
<div ng-include="'app/layout/header.html'"></div>
<div id="content" ui-view ng-cloak autoscroll="true"></div>
<div ng-include="'app/layout/footer.html'"></div>
</div>
<!-- This is the spinner I would like to display on first load -->
<div ng-show="::false" class="spinner-container">
<div class="spinner sk-spinner sk-spinner-pulse"></div>
</div>
<script src="js/lib.js"></script>
<script src="js/app.js"></script>
</body>
</html>
whatever the complexity of your application,all your controllers are within the same angular application, all scopes within the same application inherits from the same root, whatever you define on the $rootScope will be available to all child scopes.
we have two ways to resolve this problem:
use $broadcast(), $emit() and $on() that facilitate event driven publisher-subscriber model for sending notifications and passing data between your controllers.(professional solution)
declare $rootScope variable and watching changement.(simple way)
It turns out the problem was coming from "render-blocking javascript", I had to add the "async" tag to my JS to fix it.
When adding async to both my lib.js and app.js, I had an issue with app.js loading before angular scripts were loaded (thus causing the APP to throw an error). In order to solve this issue, I combined my lib.js and app.js into one single file and then added the async tag.
My final build code looks like that (the magic happens on the final "script" tag):
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html ng-app="app">
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8" />
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge, chrome=1" />
<title ng-bind="($title || 'Home') + ' - WalktheChat'">WalktheChat</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="styles/lib.css">
<link rel="stylesheet" href="styles/app.css">
</head>
<body>
<div id="base-container" ng-controller="Shell as main">
<div ng-include="'app/layout/header.html'"></div>
<div id="content" ui-view ng-cloak autoscroll="true"></div>
<div ng-include="'app/layout/footer.html'"></div>
</div>
<!-- This is the spinner I would like to display on first load -->
<div ng-show="::false" class="spinner-container">
<div class="spinner sk-spinner sk-spinner-pulse"></div>
</div>
<!-- This app.js now also contains lib.js from my question !-->
<script src="js/app.js" async></script>
</body>
</html>

Preview with Eclipse Web Page Editor and AngularJS not working

I'm currently trying to get the preview functionality from the Eclipse Web Page Editor with AngularJS up and running. Unfortunately nothing happens (see attached image) when I try to run the provided code.
It seems to run here.
The code runs in every web browser - so the question is why is it not working in the "Preview Tab" of the Eclipse Web Page Editor? Any ideas?
My Setup:
Eclipse Mars.1 Release (4.5.1) for Web Developers
AngularJS Eclipse 1.1
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html ng-app>
<head>
<meta charset="UTF-8">
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/angularjs/1.4.8/angular.min.js"></script>
<title>Insert title here</title>
</head>
<body>
<div>
<label>Name:</label>
<input type="text" ng-model="yourName" placeholder="Enter a name here">
<hr>
<h1>Hello {{yourName}}!</h1>
</div>
</body>
</html>

How to combine angularjs and xhtml?

Here is an example of a minimal example for angularjs which works when saved as angular.html:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en" xmlns:ng="http://angularjs.org" ng:app="">
<head>
<title>My HTML File</title>
<script type="text/javascript" src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/angularjs/1.2.9/angular.min.js"></script>
</head>
<body>
<p>Nothing here {{'yet' + '!'}}</p>
</body>
</html>
However I strongly believe in XML and I like to create all my html documents XML compliant. I tried to adapt the example and save it as angular.xhtml:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:ng="http://angularjs.org" ng:app="">
<head>
<title>My HTML File</title>
<script type="text/javascript" src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/angularjs/1.2.9/angular.min.js" />
</head>
<body>
<p>Nothing here {{'yet' + '!'}}</p>
</body>
</html>
The big changes are the xhtml-Namespace and the file extension ".xhtml". There is no error or anything. It's just that the page is displayed as if angular was not present.
How do I get angularjs working with an XML compliant file?
One of the best ways to do this is to use the HTML/XHTML data- attributes. You can write valid HTML and XHTML without having to include any angular namespace. This would be as follows:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" data-ng-app="">
<head>
<title>My HTML File</title>
<script type="text/javascript" src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/angularjs/1.2.9/angular.min.js" />
</head>
<body>
<p>Nothing here {{'yet' + '!'}}</p>
</body>
</html>
This is also beneficial when it comes to all other Angular declarations, such as ng-repeat and ng-show, etc.
<div ng-repeat="item in items">{{item.name}}</div> // This won't validate.
<div data-ng-repeat="item in items">{{item.name}}</div> // This will validate.
Note that your solution with bootstrapping the Angular app is also valid - but it's not really a fix for the issue you're having. (It's simply a different way to load your Angular app, which happened to work for your situation since you didn't have any other ng- directives in your markup.)
See a similar question and answer here.
I found a solution using manual setup. The code then looks like this:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<title>My HTML File</title>
<script type="text/javascript" src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/angularjs/1.2.9/angular.min.js" />
<script type="text/javascript">
angular.module('myApp', []);
angular.element(document).ready(function() {
angular.bootstrap(document, ['myApp']);
});
</script>
</head>
<body>
<p>Nothing here {{'yet' + '!'}}</p>
</body>
</html>
While this seems a suitable workaround for now, I'd still love to know what the problem is...

How to decompose a page in several view with Angular JS?

How does any body know how to divide a single html page in different view with angular.js.
I have this working :
<!doctype html>
<html lang="en" ng-app="phonecat">
<head>
....
</head>
<body>
<div ng-view></div>
</body>
</html>
But i would like to do something like this :
<!doctype html>
<html lang="en" ng-app="phonecat">
<head>
....
</head>
<body>
<div ng-view Sidebar></div>
<div ng-view></div>
<div ng-view Footer></div>
</body>
</html>
In advance thanks.
I think what you're looking for is "ng-include" : http://docs.angularjs.org/api/ng.directive:ngInclude
The Angular UI router should be a newer better way to handle this problem. At least that's its goal, and it looks very promising, but I haven't used it yet myself.
Angular UI is restructuring their site right now, so the links are a little scattered:
