AngularJS index page without #/home - angularjs

I have an AngularJS 1.0.7 web application. When I load my site in a browser I type www.domainname.com. The browser loads the page and immediately my browser url changes to www.domainname/home.
How can avoid this? I would like the browser shows www.domainname.com when I´m in index.html
UPDATE:
Please see my app.js:
'use strict';
// Declare app level module which depends on filters, and services
angular.module('myApp', ['myApp.filters', 'myApp.services', 'myApp.directives', 'myApp.controllers'])
.config(['$routeProvider', '$httpProvider', '$locationProvider',function($routeProvider, $httpProvider, $locationProvider) {
// use the HTML5 History API
$locationProvider.html5Mode(true);
$httpProvider.defaults.useXDomain = true;
delete $httpProvider.defaults.headers.common["X-Requested-With"];
$routeProvider.when('/about', {templateUrl: 'partials/about.html', controller: 'AboutCtrl'});
$routeProvider.when('/contact', {templateUrl: 'partials/contact.html', controller: 'HomeCtrl'});
// More routing
$routeProvider.when('/home', {templateUrl: 'partials/home.html', controller: 'HomeCtrl'});
// More routing
$routeProvider.otherwise({redirectTo: '/home'});
}])
.config(function(AngularyticsProvider) {
AngularyticsProvider.setEventHandlers(['Console', 'GoogleUniversal']);
}).run(function(Angularytics) {
Angularytics.init();
});

It should work if you replaced:
$routeProvider.otherwise({redirectTo: '/home'});
by
$routeProvider.otherwise({redirectTo: '/'});
and added:
$routeProvider.when('/', {templateUrl: 'partials/home.html', controller: 'HomeCtrl'});
NOTE: and as #isherwood rightly commented below:
$routeProvider.when('/home', {templateUrl: 'partials/home.html', controller: 'HomeCtrl'});
can be removed altogether, to avoid having both '/' and '/home' pointing to the same route.

AngularJS $routeProvider: routing does not work

I created a login page for authentication. Based on the result of authentication, it redirects to different pages.
//controller.js
app.controller("LoginCtrl", ['$scope', '$location', 'loginFactory', function($scope, $location, loginFactory){
$scope.authenticate = function() {
loginFactory.login($scope.username, $scope.password)
.then(function(response) {
$location.path('/home');
}, function errorCallBack(response) {
console.log("Failed auth");
$location.path('/login');
});
}
}]);
The app is defined in the following config.js together with routing.
//config.js
var app = angular.module('ristoreApp', ['ngRoute']);
app.config(function ($routeProvider, $locationProvider, $httpProvider) {
$routeProvider
.when('/', {
redirectTo: '/home'
})
.when('/login', {
templateUrl: 'views/login.html',
controller: 'LoginCtrl'
})
.when('/home', {
templateUrl: 'views/home.html',
})
.otherwise({
redirectTo: '/login'
});
});
The structure of files:
root/
js/ -- config.js
-- authentication/ -- controller.js
views/ -- home.html
-- login.html
When I submit the login form, instead of redirecting to "http://127.0.0.1:8081/views/login", it redirects to "http://127.0.0.1:8081/views/login#/login". Plus "http://127.0.0.1:8081/login" returns 404.
I start node.js under root. From the "network" tab in Chrome, it shows "config.js" is loaded. Why doesn't the routing work?
If you do not want to use the # in angular routing, you need to enable Html5 mode.
var app = angular.module('ristoreApp', ['ngRoute']);
app.config(function ($routeProvider, $locationProvider, $httpProvider) {
$routeProvider
.when('/', {
redirectTo: '/home'
})
.when('/login', {
templateUrl: 'views/login.html',
controller: 'LoginCtrl'
})
.when('/home', {
templateUrl: 'views/home.html',
})
.otherwise({
redirectTo: '/login'
});
$locationProvider.html5Mode(true);
});
if that is not working, you may have to set your base on the pages by putting this in the head section.
<base href="/">

ng-view and routing is not working

I've been struggling with using ng-view for my subview of my application. I've followed multiple tutorials and have even checked the routeProvider and locationProvider attributes to ensure that they were pointing to the correct path.
index.html
<html ng-app="elephantApp">
...
<div id="view" ng-view>{{$scope.message}}</div>
...
</html>
application.js
/*
Main AngularJS for Elephant Blog App
*/
var elephantApp = angular.module("elephantApp", ["ngRoute", "ui.bootstrap"]);
elephantApp.config(function ($routeProvider, $locationProvider){
$routeProvider
// Home
.when('/', {
templateUrl: "app/partials/home.html",
controller: "ElephantController"
})
.when('/about', {
templateUrl: 'partials/about.html',
controller: 'PageCtrl'
}) ;
$locationProvider
.html5Mode(true);
});
elephantApp.controller("ElephantController", function($scope, $route, $routeParams, $location){
$scope.contentClass = 'content-home';
$scope.message = {message: "Hi"};
});
elephantApp.controller("PageCtrl", function($scope, $route, $routeParams, $location){
$scope.contentClass = 'content';
$scope.model = {message: "Hey!"};
});
/*
function ElephantController($scope, $route, $routeParams, $location){
$scope.contentClass = 'content-home';
$scope.$route = $route;
$scope.$location = $location;
$scope.$routeParams = $routeParams;
$scope.model = {message: "Hey"};
}
*/
So I have no idea what's going on at all.
I have even tried to do code like:
// Pages
.when("/about", {templateUrl: "partials/about.html", controller: "PageCtrl"})
.when("/faq", {templateUrl: "partials/faq.html", controller: "PageCtrl"})
.when("/contact", {templateUrl: "partials/contact.html", controller: "PageCtrl"})
// Blog
.when("/blog", {templateUrl: "partials/blog.html", controller: "BlogCtrl"})
.when("/blog/post", {templateUrl: "partials/blog_item.html", controller: "BlogCtrl"})
// else 404
.otherwise("/404", {
templateUrl: "partials/404.html",
controller: "PageCtrl"
});
I would like to use the above code as it is what I mainly want to do. Though it isn't working. The ng-includes work but not my ng-views. Am I missing something?
Thanks.
By default, a route in angular is the hash in the URI path after #, for example http://app/#/about. By setting $locationProvider.html5Mode to true how you done, we can write without # http://app/about, but need that server always returning index.html. For this purposes you can use, for example, Express server: http://www.seankenny.me/blog/2013/08/05/angularjs-in-html5-mode-with-expressjs/

AngularJS gives 404 (Not Found) on views after setting html5Mode on true

I have a small AngularJS website where I use one controller and a view. I wanted to remove the /# in the URL with $locationProvider.html5Mode(true), but here starts the problem.
My code:
[...]
.config(['$routeProvider', '$locationProvider', function($routeProvider, $locationProvider) {
$locationProvider.html5Mode(true);
$routeProvider
.when('/',
{
templateUrl: 'views/home.html',
controller: 'HomeController'
})
.otherwise({redirectTo: '/'});
}]);
When I do this I get the error that he can't find the home view on views/home.html (which is the correct path). When I delete the html5mode for removing the /# in the URL it all works just fine.
With this:
[...]
.config(['$routeProvider', function($routeProvider) {
$locationProvider.html5Mode(true);
$routeProvider
.when('/Project',
{
templateUrl: 'views/home.html',
controller: 'HomeController'
})
.otherwise({redirectTo: '/Project'});
}]);
Summary: when I add the html5mode it gives me the error that he can't find the view. When I remove it it all works.
Anyone who has an idea what the problem could be?

Why angular add a string to my url?

I have a small angular app that uses this configuration:
.config(['$routeProvider','$locationProvider', function($routeProvider,$locationProvider,$httpProvider) {
$routeProvider.
when('/', {templateUrl: 'home.html', controller: 'mainCtrl'}).
when('/report/fail', {templateUrl: 'fail.html', controller: 'mainCtrl'}).
when('/report/:url', {templateUrl: 'report.html', controller: 'reportGeneralCtrl'}).
when('/report/:id/:url', {templateUrl: 'report.html', controller: 'reportUserCtrl'}).
otherwise({redirectTo: '/'})
$locationProvider.html5Mode(true)
}]);
When I try to access some url directly, typing in the browser the url, angular add this string: "#.UqX3mNJN9Zo" to my url.
Why this happens?
Found out that this is caused by addThis script. probably this don't work well on angular.

How to get rid of `/#/` in url when using Angularjs?

using ng-view and
myApp.config(['$routeProvider', function($routeProvider) {
$routeProvider.
when('/', {
templateUrl: '/partials/home',
controller: 'homePage'
}).
otherwise({redirectTo: '/login'});
}]);
everything works fine, except the URL, which shows /#/ before each address. How do you get rid of it?
inject $locationProvider and set html5mode to true
http://docs.angularjs.org/guide/dev_guide.services.$location
myApp.config(['$routeProvider','$locationProvider', function($routeProvider, $locationProvider) {
$routeProvider.
when('/', {
templateUrl: '/partials/home',
controller: 'homePage'
}).
otherwise({redirectTo: '/login'});
$locationProvider.html5Mode(true); // <-- Here comes the magic
}]);
remember though that you will need to set upp the backend to redirect all links to index.html
