Backup and Restore option not available in pgAdmin III - database

I have to take backup of my database but when I right click DB and then backup The button for backup is disabled. Similarly in existing database ,not able to restore because the Restore button too disabled.
I was working fine till the time I created a new database.
How do they get enabled?

I had the same problem in ubuntu 14.04. It was necessary to install both postgresql-client-common (which contains pg_dump and pg_restore) and postgresql-client packages.

There is no need for reinstall,
just open File->Options->Binary paths and add set "PG bin path" to path where pg_dump/pg_restore is located.

Here is a solution:
$ yum install postgresql-contrib

Problem could be caused by a fact that you simply do not have pg_dump and pg_restore tools installed (or they are not visible for pgadmin).
This had happen to me when installing pgadmin3 on CentOS 7 via PostgreSQL yum repository. To resolve this I had to install package with those tools - in my case postgresql94 (PostgreSQL client programs and libraries).
On other distros you will need to find which package should be installed. AFAIK this issue is not present in Windows environment, pgadmin installer probably have all needed dependencies.

I was facing problem in restoring my database from backup, so I followed some steps:
Go to c:\ drive and find this path "C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\13\bin"
Copy all the files from there then
past all the copied files to the given folder
"C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\13\pgAdmin 4\runtime"
Your problem will definitely be solved.
You can go and check my video Where I showed step by step problem.

Just reinstall your PGAdmin3.
We had the same problem on a Mac and after reinstallation, the right click menu showed more options like "Restore" and "Backup".

I had this issue (restore button disabled) and the problem was a corrupted dump.
So, I've created a new dump and tried again. After selecting the new file, the button became available.

in my case i'm on windows,
if python isn't installed, install it.
restart, and you're done.

I have checked in the pgadmin4 sql:
SELECT * FROM pg_available_extensions;
and got the current installed 2.1 which is not correct. You need to check on the db command line, the same query did result that the adminpack is NOT installed.
Solution: Logon to the DB on comand line and write
CREATE EXTENSION adminpack;

Trying to set up a deployment package for silent uninstall of Notepad++ and installation of a new version

All of the below on Windows 7 Machines and regarding Notepad++ installation / uninstallation:
Uninstaller
When I try to uninstall using the command
if exist "C:\Program Files (x86)\Notepad++\uninstall.exe" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Notepad++\uninstall.exe" /S
there are some files left in the Notepad++ file afterward. Notepad++'s uninstaller, when run manually, prompts halfway through the uninstall asking "Do you want to keep your custom settings" and I'm thinking that the command may be choosing to answer this "Yes" by default. I'm wondering if there's an easy way to have it choose "No" here instead. If not, I can probably just delete the folder.
Installer
I'm running the installation using the 32 bit default .exe file from Notepad++ in a deployment package compiled in Lansweeper. What I'm noticing is that presently, the package executed the CMD uninstall command, but stops short of installing the new version. For reference, I've been using an installed 7.3.2 and the installer for 7.3.3 to test, so that it should uninstall the 7.3.2 and install 7.3.3 by the end of the package.
I'm wondering if the fact that there are a number of options in the Notepad++ installer could be the culprit here. If it is better to install via command line or to include some sort of configuration file I'm fine with either option, just not especially well-versed in doing them.
Notepad++ Installer requests the following during installation:
Select a language - should choose English
Choose Components - want to be able to customize selection of localization / auto complete / themes / context menu / plugins / auto update according to our requirements
Choose Components - Don't use Appdata, Allow Plugins to be loaded from Appdata, and Create Shortcut on Desktop should all remain unchecked
Run Notepad ++ - should be unchecked (checked by default)
All the other components that I can see are straightforward Next / I Agree buttons.
I'm hoping someone may be able to make helpful suggestions here as I've not had any experience with configuring silent installs with specific parameters. Notepad++ doesn't seem to have its own MSI and I won't use a third party one so some sort of batch or configuration file or flagging options in cmd if possible are the preferable options.
Please let me know if there's any additional information I can provide that may be helpful.
Thank you in advance.
If you just need to update to the latest version. It is quite simple. Run the newest installer again and it will automatically update older versions.

Silent Install Notepad++
I'm using the command:
start /wait npp.7.2.Installer.x64.exe /S
Didn't show any interface during silent installation.
Notepad kicks a secondary process that doesn't finish until success is evaluated.
try:
"%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Notepad++\uninstall.exe" /S

Getiing error message 'Failed Installing JBAS50SVC' whle running service.bat file in Windows 7

I need to run Jboss 7 as service.
Followed these steps :-
Copied my Jboss to C:\Program Files <86>
Downloaded Jboss-native-2.0.10-windows-x64-ssl and copied the contenst of bin catalog to %JBOSS_HOME%/bin
Changes done on service.bat as per link instructions
https://community.jboss.org/message/724488
Changed my dir location to my Jboss bin
and given command service.bat install
C:\Program Files \jboss7>bin>service.bat install
Failed installing JBAS50SVC
Access is Denied.
Service JBoss Application Server 7.1.1 installed.
I'm not able to rectify this problem .
It appears to be windows access issue.
Try the following:
Does the windows ID you are using have Administrator privileges? If no, get a Admin ID else if Yes, proceed to step 2.
Try to do the same but in some other drive (not c: )
UPDATE #1 : OP says he can not see the output of service.bat file
Follow the following steps
Open start menu
Search for "cmd"
Right click "cmd" and run as Administrator
type in following command
cd C:\Program Files \jboss7\bin
Type service.bat and observe the output
On a 2008 Windows Server this occurs because you're not running the command line as an administrator. Those of us who have spent considerable amounts of time on 2003 server, and others before that, keep forgetting that your logged in ADMIN level account does NOT get passed to the command line automatically like with previous versions of Windows.
With any additional errors, past this one, I would keep going back to the service.bat file and looking at the path statements, throughout that file, to ensure that they are all correct to reach what is correct for your installation.
Also, don't forget to create a log folder under standalone (unless you're doing a domain install). Failure to do that will also cause issues as well.

what does "Connecting to database specified by database.yml" in the log file mean?

I'm working on a Rails 3.2.9 app , on performing a certain action, the app doesnt go any further and when i chech the log file i get this line to be the last in the log
Connecting to database specified by database.yml
I have no idea what's causing this problem.. When i sign up or sign in also it needs to connect to db and it works fine then.. only when a function (called execute test case) is clicked, the app doesnt go further and freezes there itself..
Please help me if you have come across this ...or suggest what may be the cause!!
Check this answer. This may help you.
Rails Connecting to database specified by database.yml
I found the cause of this error.. Problem is when the gem ‘mysql2’ is installed for the app , it might not be the one compatible with the version of MySQL server that is installed in our machine. And also a corresponding libmysql.dll file to be copied to Ruby folder.
So install the gem by specifying the local directory of Mysql
1.In the cmd,
gem install mysql2 -- --with-mysql-dir=C:\Program Files\MySQL
As directed in the cmd, follow the link to download the dll. Extract the zip from that location and copy the file as instructed in cmd
If the zip is empty or the link shows file not exist.(which does happen for some versions!!)
--> Go to the link and follow the flow in the url.. Like the website.. http://dev.mysql.com ->downloads -> MySQL Connectors -> MySQL Connector/C -> the latest version zips are displayed.. Choose the one with the exact file name as in the empty zip/broken link. If not click on previous GA versions and find the according zip file. Download, extract and copy the libmysql.dll to Ruby’s bin folder

How to solve 503 error accessing CollabNet Subversion Console?

I'm using Collabnate Subversion Edge.
I'm getting below error when trying to access URL http://localhost:3343/csvn.
Collbnate is set up on Windows Server 2008.
HTTP ERROR: 503
Problem accessing /csvn/. Reason:
Service Unavailable
Powered by Jetty://
How to solve it?
I spent two days fighting with the same problem. It turned out that CollabNet Subversion Edge 4.0.11 does not support Java 8.
The following procedure helped me make CN Subverion Edge 4.0.11 work again on Windows 7:
1) Uninstall CollabNet Subversion
2) Uninstall Java 8 (I had Java 7 and 6 side by side, so after uninstalling the 8, 7 picked up after I added it to PATH variable. It is important to add it at the very beginning of the path, otherwise Windows\System32\java.exe will be taken, which was not good for me also)
3) Install CollabNet Subverion (the important thing is to uncheck the "Run CollabNet ..." check box in the final screen. It looks like the installer is still creating files at the end and only after I have clicked OK in the final screen the needed configuration files have been created in data/conf folder.
4) Make sure that data/conf/httpd.conf file is created. If it is there, got to services (services.msc) and start server manually
Now launch the browser and navigate to localhost:3343/csvn.
Good luck.
1) Install Java 7
2) In file \csvn\svcwrapper\conf\wrapper.conf change from #wrapper.java.command.maxVersion=1.6 to wrapper.java.command.maxVersion=1.7
3) Run \csvn\svcwrapper\bat\runConsole.bat
Good luck.
Check in c:/csvn/data/logs for a log that starts with "console". Then find the error(s) and check what is wrong.
Did you try restarting the service ?
I had the same issue, CollabNet Subversion Edge version 4.0.4. In my case the problem was updating the JAVA_HOME from JDK 1.6 to JDK 1.7.
I finally resolved it changing the file:
C:\PROGRA~1\csvn\svcwrapper\conf\wrapper.conf
I changed the value of the property: wrapper.java.command:java
wrapper.java.command=C:/PROGRA~1/Java/jdk1.6.0_45/bin/java
So the csvn now runs with 1.6 as before. And it works again as a service automatically.
Good luck!!
There's an alternative issue that results in the same error: The database may get corrupted. This is what just happened to me. The above answers where not working in this case. As Subversion Edge 5.0.1 comes bundled with jre8, it would be rather strange if it weren't able to run against it.
To solve the problem, I had to patch the database (luckily, the user database c:\csvn\data\csvn-production-hsqldb.script is a plain text sql file).
Backup files in c:\csvn\data
Delete csvn-production-hsqldb.script and start the service (should come up now)
Exit the service
Save the file which is automatically recreated now
Compare your old file and the new working one
Replace every line starting with INSERT INTO QRTZ in your database with the corresponding lines from the working copy
Copy the new files to the proper place
Start the service
Hope it worked
I had this problem too. Upgrade to SubversionEdge 5.1.4 solved the issue.
We encounter this problem with CollabNet Subversion Edge 3.3.1 every time we patch our JDK 6 install (e.g. IAVM update). We need to install JDK 7 and 8 on this machine also so the installers are confusing the version information in the Windows Registry (not too much of a surprise there). Even if we update JDK 6 last, it gets weird too.
Nevertheless, it turns out the Subversion Console uses the Windows Registry to locate the Java install to launch the Console service. Updating the registry entry HKLM\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Development Kit\CurrentVersion to 1.6 and having a proper install of JDK 1.6 will restore console operation.

DotNetNuke Upgrade 4.9.2 - PermanentRedirect Failure

When installing DNN 04.09.02 upgrade (from DNN 4.8.4) I receive System.IndexOutOfRangeException: PermanentRedirect error and cannot install the upgrade. How do I get around this so I can install the upgrade?
This thread might help you:
It looks like you have to update it manually... steps are described there.
Also check this thread, might be due to AD if AD is used.
I've re-posted the following from the thread provided by kitsune. Source
First try the following in your browser. Replace "www.yourdomain.com" with your domain:
http://www.yourdomain.com/install/install.aspx?mode=install
If that doesn't work (which it didn't for me) then try the following steps (copied from Chris on that thread).
To manually run the SQL portion of the upgrade you'll need to run each upgrade script between your version and 4.9.2. I upgraded from 4.9.0 to 4.9.2 so I performed the following:
On the web server open the directory: \Providers\DataProviders\SqlDataProvider
Determine which files need to be run. Basically, all of the versions after your old version. In my case I needed to run the files 04.09.00.SqlDataProvider, 04.09.01.SqlDataProvider and 04.09.02.SqlDataProvider.
Open the SQL files in a text editor and replace "{databaseOwner}" (usually with "dbo.") and "{objectQualifier}" (usually with "", but sometimes "DNN4" or some other object prefix)
Run those SQL files in version order using SQL Management Studio.
Assuming those scripts ran without an error then the site should be ready to use.
