Can i connect mobile battery of one smart phone for another. I'll use all 3 pin connections. Is there any risk involved?
I'm facing some problem with my mobile battery and phone switches off all of a sudden. I'm using huawei ascend P1.
ther is no problem replacing bettery from one phone to another as far aws voltage and size of the bettery is same. mobile switching off suddencly can of many reason bettery replacement is the one solution from them other could be your mobile is not storing charge properly and charging ic got problem as far as HUAWEI Ascend P1 concern it store bettery via its main flash ic so their is not charging IC with it.

When the Kernel needs to send output to a certain peripheral, how does it know which driver to use?
The usual way is for each driver when first loaded, typically at boot time, to poll the buses it supports and look for matches between what it is designed to support and the returned signatures (vendor and device IDs), and their classes.
This is at least the way it works for the so-called plug and play peripherals.

Im having problems with the installation.
I tried this already , http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv7/ti/pandaboard i don't know if im doing it correctly because when i connect it to the HDMI and the tv, nothing seems to work.
I recently got the same problem with my pandaboard ES. I can't say I have everything working now, but you can have a feedback of the boot with the DB9-RS232 port. You'll probably need to use an adaptator DB9/USB to open a serial connection at 115200 baud with the card (you can use the screen program to do so).

I was wondering if it is possible to configure mobile phones to support multiple Operating Systems for development.
Not talking about running virtual machines on the phone, but to actually install multiple OS's on the same mobile phone giving a boot option when switching on the phone. This would be a great help to developers test real devices.
Need someone to put some light on this. Planning to write a paper on this if possible.

And there are another alternatives
webos & android
But exists many problems:
a) officially (Apple, Microsoft and Google) they don't want that. So i don't think that they will do it officially.
b) since it is not official then it will lack drivers. For example, iDroid lack several drivers

As you may have seen, there is another super cheap phone (Nokia 100) which plans to sell for 25€. I'm very much into Arduino and Raspberry Pi so this got me thinking - how to develop on such phone? Is it possible to wipe out its stock OS for something entirely different and open sourced? I personally don't mind to learn S30 but is there a SDK to get somewhere? Do I have to "jailbreak" it?
In other words, is it possible to turn those super cheap phones into versatile hobbits platform like Arduino?
(Btw, Nokia if you read this - why haven't you done so already?)
S30 doesn't have an SDK. Nokia's SDKs are at http://www.developer.nokia.com.
To re-flash this phone would be difficult. Often the devices have authentication mechanisms to only allow official re-flashing, otherwise branded/network locked phones would be easily bypassed.

i am currently undergoing the branding of a place that is in the outskirts of a major city. the situation at hand is that the place is unknown and not easy to get around, so my associates and i have planned to develop a gps application with specifics eg safari lodges, conference venues of this area and make it possible for people to download it onto their smartphones (nokia,iphone and black berry) and be able to navigate their way around.
the issue is how much would it cost to develop such an application and run it?

The answer to this question could be 1000$, but it could be 100.000$ as well. There are so many details to a project like this that must be taken into account that it is almost impossible to answer your question more precisely.
To give an example - consider details like (but not only):
who will supply the necessary content
does the content need to be updated on a regular basis -> CMS
should the app navigate the user around in turn-by-turn style or should it be more like an interactive map
These three details alone would make a huge difference. So, the best thing you can do is contact a company or a freelance developer, brief him precisely on the matter and see how much it'll cost you.
