My JavaFX application uses FXML and in one of its forms, it needs to show appointment dates in a given month. The user can then click a date to add a new appointment. I would like to use JFX Extra's CalendarPicker (here) for this purpose. I don't know if it is the right library but I think CalendarPicker is preferable if it can do the work. Can somebody show me how to do this?
The control project has a CalendarPickerFXMLTest which shows how to do a calendar picker in FXML.
https://github.com/JFXtras/jfxtras/blob/8.0/jfxtras-controls/src/test/resources/jfxtras/scene/control/test/CalendarPickerFXMLTest.fxml
Make sure you add all the required jars to your project, like jfxtras-common and possibly jfxtras-fxml. After accessing the in fxml defined CalendarPicker control in Java, you can set the highlighed calendars list. If the styling of the highlighting doesn't suite you, you can change it in CSS using the .highlight class

So right now I'm trying to build this radio list for the regions in LWC, the functionality works fine in that when you click on the regions it selects all the states below for that region.

However, I want to stylize it so that it looks more proper. I'm a little confused how to do this using these components that LWC provides. Here's a mockup of what the regions should look like.

Here's what the HTML for it looks like.

You can probably achieve this by using the grid system : https://www.lightningdesignsystem.com/utilities/grid/
We can achieve the same style by following a couple of steps:
Pass class to each lightning inputs to scope the styling.
Style radio controls having the passed class name.
save the file as .css and store in static resources.
Load style sheet in component by making use of loadStyle method from platformResourceLoader module.
I have a Snippet model that I'm using ModelAdmin to create, edit, and list in Wagtail. I'd like to create a copy function, and I can see that wagtail supports this out of the box for Page objects:
Before I write custom code to do this, I thought I'd ask if there is any way to easily do this within Wagtail. I didn't find any hooks that would even easily allow adding more buttons, and while I did find modeladmin-list-display-add-buttons, it seems to only allow me to change the placement of the default edit and delete buttons.
It is possible to achieve this. However, it will require custom code, and various overrides and additions in different places. Here are some steps that should help you on your way, with some links to some example code in the wagtailmenus extension, which does this exact thing:
Adding the custom view:
Create a custom CopyView view (subclassing wagtail.contrib.modeladmin.views.EditView will probably be your best starting point). For inspiration, you might want to take a look at one I created for wagtailmenus: https://github.com/rkhleics/wagtailmenus/blob/master/wagtailmenus/views.py#L141
Integrate the view with your ModelAdmin class, by adding a copy_view() method that instantiates your custom view. For example:
https://github.com/rkhleics/wagtailmenus/blob/master/wagtailmenus/modeladmin.py#L78
Override your ModelAdmin class's get_admin_urls_for_registration() method, to make the view accessible via a URL. For example: https://github.com/rkhleics/wagtailmenus/blob/master/wagtailmenus/modeladmin.py#L82
Getting the button to show in the listing:
Create a custom ButtonHelper class by subclassing wagtail.contrib.modeladmin.helpers.ButtonHelper.
Add a copy_button() method to it, that can provide all of the necessary details to create the button. For example: https://github.com/rkhleics/wagtailmenus/blob/master/wagtailmenus/modeladmin.py#L38/
Override the get_buttons_for_obj() method to output the copy button in the listing along with the others, depending on the user's permissions (e.g. https://github.com/rkhleics/wagtailmenus/blob/master/wagtailmenus/modeladmin.py#L49)
Finally, get your ModelAdmin class to use your custom ButtonHelper instead of the default one, by changing the button_helper_class attribute to reference your custom class.
If you'd like to understand more about all of the various classes within wagtail.contrib.modeladmin, I'd suggest reading the modeladmin customisation primer page from the official Wagtail documentation.
I was wondering if there is a way to override the native functionality of the lookup field in Salesforce and replace it with a visualforce page. The reason I'm trying to override this button is because when the user does a look up, the look up returns everybody with that name. What we want to return is a list of all the contacts by account for the contact being searched.
Here's what I'm trying to achieve:
When the user clicks the lookup button my visualforce page will launch and allow the user to see the account and all the contacts of that account.
Is this even possible? What other ways would you suggest going about this?
Here's a screen shot of what I'm trying to change:
Thanks for all your help!
It sounds really like you just need to customise the columns on the lookup to make it better suited to your needs. If you go to Setup -> Customize -> Contacts -> Search Layouts, you'll see entries for Lookup Dialogs and Lookup Phone Dialogs, there you can edit the columns displayed in the lookup windows.
If you really need a custom solution:
You can't override the lookup page itself, but you could create a new visualforce page for your account, using <apex:detail> and other similar tags to make your life simpler. Then you could include a search section underneath, where a user can enter various search terms which you put into a dynamic SOQL query and then render the results for them to choose from.
yeah its possible by javascript as i did by visual force page that will show the records of related lists and upon selection id of that record passed to parent window by jscipt. and performed same functionality ..
As far as I know - NO.
As a workaround you can use JavaScript.
What we did in our situation? We implement everything in JavaScript. We created an inputText and right on the right of this inputText we placed image with this lookup icon. On image click we create ExtJS popup window (I think you can simply create VF page and show this page in popup window). After window was closed you fill in the inputText field.
There's no out-of-the-box override for this button, last I checked, so something custom would be required. If you're set on having a popup and do not want an inline solution, I'd recommend reviewing this tutorial to get familiar with some of the issues with popups in Visualforce.
But considering what you are looking to accomplish, you could also have your account and filtered list of all contacts associated with that account appear inline on your page when the user clicks a new, custom search button. Of course that page would itself be in Visualforce (or inline Visualforce in a standard page layout) - which you may or may not want to have to code and maintain.
The AJAX Toolkit might also be a good place to start if you want to go with a custom JavaScript button placed on a standard page layout.
Adding a new Form in the project creates a default form with default properties. I have to change them manually, but in all my project I have the same properties (font, background color, etc.).
Is there a way I can change the default Ide template for Forms?
Not using inheritance as Adrian recommended is a mistake. It is the right way to do it because you can in one fell swoop change every form in your app by editing the base form properties.
But you want to change the template. That's easy to do as well. Start a new scratch project with one Form and change the properties you want to have customized. Click File + Export Template. Select Item template, Next. Tick the form, Next. Next. Give it a good name and description and click Finish. You can now select that template whenever you create a new form.
Create your own form control that is derived from the base one and has all the properties set just like you want them, then you can use this one all over your project. Also changing something will be very easy since you'll have to do it only in one place.
i have been playing around with the ext js library for showing multi month calendar
http://www.lubber.de/extjs/datepickerplus/
one issue is in all the examples are either coming off of another control(combo, textbox) or inside a window object
does anyone know if there are any examples of simply displaying the calendars on a regular page?
If you check the source of http://www.lubber.de/extjs/datepickerplus/ around line 635 where the dWin object is being instantiated you should get an idea on how to add it to a page.
Basically this script (be warned, it has loads of commented code and actually is quite a mess) creates an Ext Window, with several items of which one has a datepickerplus xtype.
It should be possible to also render the datepicker to another dom element directly but i think that this extension to Ext doesn't support this out of the box so you should probably extend the object and override the render method.
Hope that helps
