We have hundreds of SSRS 2005 reports in an ASP.Net 2.0 application. We are using following Javascript for rendering the report
window.location.href = url;
Url Example
http://aaa88/ReportServer/Pages/ReportViewer.aspx?/InventoryTracking/Receiving/MyReport&rs:Command=Render&rc:Parameters=false&Emp="20"
Example: Generate report from URL - SQL Server Reporting Services 2008
By typing the url anybody in the domain is able to view the report.
We need to ensure that the report should not be accessible without entering proper credentials.
We must also ensure that the website is able to render the report using "window.location.href" and without prompting the user
What is the solution for this in SSRS 2005?

I have a server running SSRS. Visiting the server URL directs to the intranet URL:
http://server/CloudReports/Pages/Folder.aspx
I believe the 'CloudReports' folder name was customised previously but where can I edit this?
I've looked in Reporting Services Configuration Manager and can't find anything.
I am working on removing the authentication headers or provide anonymous authentication for SSRS 2016. but i am using react.js and angularjs on a node.server
I have tried custom authentication methods in SSRS 2016 config files
I would like to be able to run SSRS 2016 reports in react.js and angularjs projects without being prompted for SSRS windows authentication username and password
I have been unsuccessful in directly running SSRS 2016 reports in react.js without authentication headers.
However, I have created an IIS server with custom authentication where my SSRS 2016 runs on and I connected my react.js application to that IIS server
I’m trying to find a way on using web based SSRS Report Builder outside of Active Directory environment or using RDP.
Currently I use the ananymous solution. Following is the detail.
In the Data Source Server Type selection, I‘m choosing “Analysis Service” (Anonymous Authentication is embed in the IIS Server)
The user access is set by default to Anonymous Authentication.
This is how I provide the connection detail in SQL Server Management Studio.
And the following is the connection string configuration in SSRS
Only by choosing the “current Windows User” (without filling any user authentication) the Datasource access in the report builder can be accessed.
By this solution, I have deep concern about the security of the data source, as the data source become accessible without any authentication.
Is there any other settings or solution to enable me design report in SSRS Report Builder from outside from the server in a more secure way?
You probably don't want to do this. Set up a VPN instead, then they can be accessed as though they are on the local lan but maintaining security.
I am running SharePoint 2010 and Reporting Services 2008 R2 SharePoint integrated-mode. I am able to browse to the reportserver site : http://DBserver/reportserver which lists my site collections and I am able to get to the document library which holds my reports. However, when I try opening a report I get the following error:
Report Server has encountered a SharePoint error. (rsSharePointError)
The security validation for this page is invalid. Click Back in your Web browser, refresh the page, and try your operation again.
For more information about this error navigate to the report server on the local server machine, or enable remote errors
I am able to resolve that issue by going to Central Admin, Application Management, General Settings and turning Web Page Security Validation Off. But if I do that I get an error when using silverlight features like site, or list creation.
Any ideas?
I'm using SSRS 2005, with custom forms authentication module. That works great. But the report builder prompts for credentials, is there a way to get around this? Is this a configurability thing?
Thanks.
