I have Jboss 7 running in Linux system. and I had deployed Solr 3.5 in it. It was working fine before.
After some days, Today when I started jboss 7 , it does not start my solr 3.5 . my sorl.war file exist at jboss-as-web-7.0.2.Final/standalone/deployments/
such issue also occured some times before, when my war deployment shows solr.war.failed in deployments. and i was able to resolve it by just moving / renaming that file.
But currently I am unable to deploy my was file and not showing as running when I start Jboss.
Below is response when i start jboss
=========================================================================
JBoss Bootstrap Environment
JBOSS_HOME: /opt/jboss-as-web-7.0.2.Final
JAVA: /usr/lib/jvm/jdk1.7.0_40/bin/java
JAVA_OPTS: -Xms64m -Xmx512m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m
-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true -Dorg.jboss.resolver.warning=true -Dsun.rmi.dgc.client.gcInterval=3600000 -Dsun.rmi.dgc.server.gcInterval=3600000 -Djboss.modules.system.pkgs=org.jboss.byteman -Djava.awt.headless=true

I also tried by creating war file again and again deploy it.
Please help me to resolve this issue. how can i make it running??
Thanks
Make sure your solr.war is placed in jboss-as-web-7.0.2.Final/standalone/deployments/ and add an empty file named solr.war.dodeploy right next to the war.. If the deploy fails, copy the full stacktrace of the error.

I am running Cloudbees Jenkins (1.554.2.2) on WebSphere 8.5 with Java 7 on RedHat Linux. I loaded the Artifactory plugin into Jenkins, but when I hit test connection, I receive the following error:
org.apache.commons.logging.LogConfigurationException:
org.apache.commons.logging.LogConfigurationException: Class
org.apache.commons.logging.impl.Jdk14Logger does not implement Log
It appears that the WebSphere JARs are being loaded first which contain a different version of the commons-logging JAR. I am seeing this as well with some other plugins.
I do have the classpath for the Jenkins in WebSphere set to be Parent Last. Also, Jenkins.war directory contains the commons-logging-1.1.3.jar and log4j-1.2.9.jar files.
Has anyone using artifactory plugin on Websphere 8.5 has encountered the issue.

When trying to deploy my application to the Google App Engine server I get the following error:
Cannot get the System Java Compiler. Please use a JDK, not a JRE.
All solutions I've seen for this involve editing an eclipse configuration file, but I'm not using eclipse. I'm executing appcfg.cmd from the dos prompt. I have a jdk installed and my JAVA_HOME is pointing to it:
c:\program files\java\jdk1.6.0_43
Obviously appcfg.cmd is not looking at JAVA_HOME. It must be getting the JDK location from somewhere else.
Any ideas?
As noted in the comments: Make sure the JDK is FIRST in your PATH.
I had the same issue with appengine sdk 1.8.1 and sts 3.6.4.
I tried adding vm properties to sts.ini file, added %JAVA_HOME% to the beginning of the path variable. But nothing was working as I kept getting the same error.
Cannot get the System Java Compiler. Please use a JDK, not a JRE
Then I found the issue was with Windows\system32\java* file. The appengine was reading the java from Windows\system32.
There were three files.
java.exe
javaw.exe
javaws.exe
I replaced these files from JAVA JDK home as they were from JAVA JRE home during installation. After that, I restarted my sts and everything worked fine as I am able to deploy without issue.
I upgraded today to GAE 1.7.4 and on trying to deploy I see following error:
Preparing to deploy:
Created staging directory at: 'C:\Users\VSKUMA~1.ST-\AppData\Local\Temp\appcfg4811921061542689032.tmp'
Scanning for jsp files.
Compiling jsp files.
java.lang.RuntimeException: Cannot get the System Java Compiler. Please use a JDK, not a JRE.
I already have JDK pointing in the build path and this all was working fine till GAE 1.7.3
I cannot uninstall the existing GREs for some reasons.
For me at least, forcing Eclipse to use a different vm itself worked. Add, for example:
-vm
C:\Program Files\Java\<jdk1.6.0_38>\bin\javaw.exe
to the first two lines* of the eclipse.ini file and restart Eclipse.
*Thanks to Andre
finally i uninstalled jre manually and this only helped me to get through this
Yes #Vik, i had this problem when updating to GAE 1.7.3 and the solution to the problem is to reinstall the JRE... but! if you are working with Eclipse, and this doesn´t work either, try reintalling the whole IDE. (i had to do so, and it worked for me ¬¬ )
I have a GWT based web application that I have previously uploaded to Appspot.
However now, I am getting this error:
Unable to update:
com.google.appengine.tools.admin.JspCompilationException: Failed to compile jsp files.

The application used JDK (not JRE)
There's a JSP file (dummy) on the war file
The application works in hosted mode
Do a clean build first. Alt+P, N in eclipse. If this fails, delete /war/WEB-INF/classes and try again. If this also fails, right click your war folder and select validate; this will tell you if there are any actual errors in your jsp files.
If this fails, your appengine jars may be corrupted. Try unzipping a fresh SDK and using it to deploy.
Also, have you changed java versions recently? Compiling JSPs requires JAVA_HOME points to a JDK, not a JRE. What is the result of echo $JAVA_HOME?
this thread will solve your problem
Cannot get the System Java Compiler. Please use a JDK, not a JRE
Other wise, you need to set your JAVA_HOME to point to your jdk folder and add javaw.exe path in your eclipse.ini
Console dogs me. Can anybody help?
The sad story starts like this. My OS is ubuntu-9.04. I installed tomcat-6.0.20 by extracting it from .tar.gz package and put it under the /usr/share/tomcat-6.020 directory.
Then I started tomcat from console, and everything seemed to be fine. localhost answered with the $CATALINA_HOME/webapps/ROOT/index.html page.
The next step was to put my tomcat in the eclipse's servers list. So, I went to Preferences > Server > Runtime Environment > Add > Apache Tomcat v6.0 (here I also browsed to my tomcat and changed JVM from JRE to JDK). Finally, I added my server to the Servers list.
So, having everything configured, I started my tomcat from the eclipse, opened a browser and asked for localhost. 404 all over sudden. Despite the fact that the eclipse's console has shown no errors.
Has anybody encountered the same problem?
I fixed the "Could not load server configuration" problem by deleting the current server configuration from the Servers View and adding it again.
Open your Tomcat settings (double click or F3 on your Tomcat instance in 'Servers' view in Eclipse):
Make sure configuration path is valid and configuration is valid
Click on modules tab and make sure your app is deployed.
I'm with Carlisg. I had this error in Eclipse 3.6 with Tomcat 5.5: "Could not load server configuration at /Servers/Tomcat v5.5 server. The configuration maybe corrupt or incomplete." After playing around with every setting for 20 minutes and getting the same error, I just deleted the server, re-added it and it worked in about 90 seconds with no changes.
yes emanemos is right, I tried it today and got it working instantly. Create a new project in eclipse, I created a Dynamic web project. Create a new server, choose your apache version as the server type. Then create your pages and resources in this project space. I created index.html in Webcontent and pointed to http://localhost:8080/trial/ and I can see my index.html. (trial is the name of my project).
In windows vista 32 I fixed like this, In 'serverlocation' selected Use Tomcat installation(takes control of tomcat installation) and for deploy path I added my tomcat webapp dir.'C:\apache-tocat-6.0.26-windows-x86\apache-tomcat-6.0.26\webapps'. With default configuration path /Servers/Tomcat v6.0 Server at localhost-config, it just works fine.
I had the same problem and solved it following these steps:
On the Server View, right click on the server (Tomcat 6.0 Server at Localhost)
in the menu options click "Open", this opens a menu with all the configurations for the server.
On tab "Server Locations" you must select the option "Use Tomcat Installation (takes control of tomcat installation)".
Do not forget to check the Deploy path.
I think there is a problem with eclipse configuration over Tomcat and it must use the tomcat installation configuration.
